Review Surfside Fish And Chips - Comox

Stopped by here on the way through Comox. It was at 5:30 so pretty busy with a line up and several orders on the way but they served me pretty quickly despite this and the fish (one piece cod) was fresh and crispy and ready within a few minutes. Good price to at $14. The tartar sauce was not my favourite but giving these guys 5 stars as they were dealing with some predictable comments from impatient boomers in the line up. Keep up the great work!

the fish and chips was delicious! the cod was fresh and just the perfect amount of batter. gravy is very good. i found the po’boy disappointing: the halibut was good but that was about it. would definitely come back for the fish and chips or other items!

Tried out this food truck after reading the reviews. We were NOT disappointed! The fish was FRESH and delicious and big pieces. We had the salmon, cod, and halibut and all were fantastic. And the gravy is yummy too! Not only was the food good and fast (there were 6 of us in our group), there is a park and marina there to hang out in. There are a few picnic tables, but they were all occupied so we sat at a regular bench overlooking the marina. A good meal and a good view!

Superb fish and chips. Four of us had either Halibut or Cod fish-and-chips. The consensus: this may have been the best fried fish we’ve ever had. Flaky, no unpleasant fishy taste, and not mushy or soggy. One woman was breading the fish in the back. The wait (with another four or five people before us) was around 15 minutes. But the Snowbirds Air Force acrobatic team were practicing over our heads making the wait worthwhile.

Kate serves up great fish and chips. From humble beginnings in a tiny trailer to now a big trailer. I ordered the two-piece halibut $25 and a pop $2. The two-piece halibut comes with coleslaw and fries. The halibut fish was juice, fresh and big. The batter was a little thicker than other places but I still enjoyed it. The tartar sauce was great and I wished they provide more of it. I asked for extra sauce and apparently it's an extra cost but lucky me I didn't have to pay. The coleslaw was homemade and tasted great. The fries were okay but then again I don't really like fries in general lol. Kate and her staff deliver great service on a sunny day in April. Eating at the picnic table in the park overlooking the waters and mountains in the background was amazing.

Excellent local food truck located at a park in Comox. The sweet potato fries were amazing but our favorite was the shrimp tacos. Delicious! Definitely a must try.

Great atmosphere right at the fisherman’s wharf nice to come back where I was born and i remember roaming around the wharf here as a kid when my dad was cleaning our catch. And to have good fried halibut N chips not greasy or over battered, My Dad loved there fish tacos & the halibut Po boy’s good flavour & balance going on with these tacos . Will defiantly drive the 1hr it takes to get here as it is one of my dads go to spots for us to reminisce and eat great food great job lady’s !

Scrumptious Food... Extended family dropped by for lunch after attending an outdoor art fair at the Comox Marina .... The food was excellent.. Fish and Chips and Fish Tacos were a hit and the Panko fried oysters I ordered were simply the best fried oysters I have ever had... Highly recommended...
