Wow! I was really impressed by the Italian food and the service here. My family was here for a birthday dinner and I ordered the scampi shrimp appetizer and the seafood fettuccine. So yummy! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Delishious, went there last night and had the mushroom brushetta and it was delightful and then shared a capresse salad. We ordered 2 half orders of pasta to share and they were great. Will definitely be coming here again pleasantly surprised.
The food here is consistently excellent! Had the veal with rose lobster sauce...un real. I would have licked the plate but that would have been uncouth. The Caesar salad is from scratch, you won't find better anywhere. No wonder reservations are recommended here. It's just that good!

Hmmmm. I didn't expect such good food. Very clean, great service, decent wine selection and the seafood linguine...some of the best I've ever had. The steak is fantastic. The owner is a really great guy.
We are never disappointed with Portofino. The service is top notch. The food is fantastic and obviously made without quality ingredients. I also love that half orders are available for my kids. I had the seafood pescatore. They were so generous with the seafood and did not pile your plate with pasta and just one or two shrimp and mussels. It was my birthday so we had dessert. It was also great. We'd go more but we can never get in. Reservations are recommended. We always forget to make them and due to the outstanding quality this place is always full.

Nice place in cochrane.. I'm going to say first that this place isn't worth coming to cochrane for, or if you're looking for a place to eat and are in the city, there are better places, but if you're looking to eat in cochrane, Portofino is lovely.
Decent price, the chef knows what he's doing, the waitstaff are great, the building itself is a little dated but it's nice, I like the seating arrangements with such a small space, it's very cozy.

What a wonderful food experience! This little gem is a real escape from small town Cochrane with a flavorful richness you'ld expect to find wandering the streets of Florence (but only where the locals know to go) the wine menu is equally pleasing although you may not want to use your servers recommendation depending on who you have and how selective your palette is. Need a sampler? Just try the bruschetta for next to nothing and enjoy the taste and texture this little restaurant can produce. Well done!
Went for supper w my boyfriend. Great atmosphere, delicious food but absolute crap service! 20 minutes for a drink order does not seem normal when the place clearly was not full. Our server was grumpy and short w us. She asked if we'd read the specials, and when I asked her to elaborate on one she sighed and said it in most monotone voice ever. She never once came during or the end if our meals. I had to flag her down to get the bill. As we were surrounded by older, retired couples I assume if we had been in that age bracket service would've been a lot different. (We're 30) She laughed and joked with the other tables and was very attentive to thier needs. Needless to say we will not be returning and her tip reflected the service we got. It is unfortunate because the food was delicious.
A wonderful dining expereince!. My husband and I dined here last Saturday, and what a delight! I had the chicken breast special, and he had the seafood pasta - both of which were fresh and delicious. We had mushroom bruchetta to start, which is out new favorite appy!
What really was the cherry on top of the meal though was the service. Our server (my husband and I disagree about her name, but we both believe its a variation of Jessi) was very friendly, and took time to talk to us in a way that was above and beyond the usual generic server talk. She was very attentive and informative, and had laughing much more then we ever expected. The team work between the staff was very apparent to us.
We both highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a great place to relax.
An Italian Gem in Cochrane. Had the pleasure of going to this fantastic Italian restaurant for the first time today with my husband for our anniversary. I cannot rave about the whole experience enough. From the calamari and bruchetta to the fabulous tortellini and stuffed peppers ....everything was top notch and professional. The dessert was absolutely amazing! What a perfect way to avoid the stormy weather outside! Thank you Pierre! We will be back!!

Most of the staff seem quite polite and most of the time they will substitute the side pasta to a different sauce.
One lady said it would be a $6 charge to change.. But when I told her I had a food sensitivity she was really great about it

Best meal in Cochrane, Alberta. Phenomenal food cooked to perfection. Beautiful resteraunt with great atmosphere. When booking, ask to be seated in Melissa's area as she is the most attentive and informative waitress. Will go back very, very soon.
So Good!. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh! The service is also good and efficient! Portofino has a relaxed and inviting atmosphere but don't expect a quick bite. They take their time making it more of an experience than just a meal.
Amazing. We just moved to Cochrane and decided to check on this little Italian resturant. Wow, we were blowen away from the bread, to the appetizer, to the entree, to the dessert. The food was the best Italian I've had and the service was exceptional. I have been to many Italian resturants across Canada and to find this little gem in the town of Cochrane was such a great suprize. All I can say it if you want a great evening that will ignite your taste buds and leave you wanting for more than this is the place for you!

Great Homemade Italian Food. What a nice surprise in a small town. My parents and I started with the calamari covered in tomato sauce - very good and a huge portion. My parents each had a caesar salad as a second starter and snatched a taste - excellent dressing. For our mains, I had the Mahi Mahi covered in a beautiful tomato and caper sauce served with perfectly al dente veggies and a potato. The fish was perfectly cooked and I loved that I found a bay leaf in the sauce - definitely homemade! My dad ordered the veal shank covered with a porcini mushroom red wine sauce with vegetables and potato - huge shank! He said it was fantastic and perfectly cooked. My mom opted for the half order of risotto served with goat cheese, prosciutto, tomatoes, and some other elements. She said it too was amazing. I am glad that they offer their pasta and risotto in half orders, as it was the perfect size for my mom. The place was packed and the waitress was on overdrive, but service was friendly and attentive. Oh, and our meals were served piping hot!!!
Best Italian Around Calgary. A hidden gem in Cochrane. The Langlois family bring a French flair and decades of experience as restauranteurs to Italian food. In my five visits I have not had a dish I did not love. Reasonable prices too. The calamari is to die for, soft and delicate with a nice tang. The cheese and spinach brochetta, super indulgent. The pescatore full of wonderful fresh seafood. I just love it. The pasta is not house made but what a great place..
