Review Characters - Chilliwack

While visiting, this was our go to place ! We came here 3 times, and each visit was 5/5! The staff were always friendly and attentive, but never overbearing. They had a huge awesome cocktail selection(including blended frozen delights !) at really reasonable prices. They always had a food and drink special going on. The food was always so very good - we kept coming back ! The atmosphere was super fun and laid back. They played good music at a perfect volume. They also had TVs that showed sports and a smaller one for lotto like Keno. Drinks we enjoyed included - Blended Frozen Peach Belini Bartenders Root Beer Mudslide White Russian Blended Frozen Strawberry Peach Margarita Pint of Canadian with a side of Clamato (my husband said it was the best type of Clamato- he was really pleased) Food selection included Potato Skins ( OMG The BEST Ever !! ) Beef Dip w/ceaser salad Artichoke Dip Calamari Double Bacon Cheeseburger w/onion rings Can’t say enough good things about this place. Will defiantly return next time we are in the area.

Character’s Pub is my home away from home. The wait staff are awesome! Friendly fast service. The food is always top notch and the prices are reasonable. The portion sizes are HUGE! The menu has many options (I recently had the seafood fettuccine and was blown away at how much seafood was included!). Sooo good! The drink specials are really good too. My favourite is the tequila sunrise. A steal of a deal for $4.50! I was so impressed with the staff and the way that they’ve been handling the ups and downs of covid that I bought them a box of Purdy’s chocolates as a thank you for being so amazing. Each of the wait staff came over to my table to thank me for doing this for them. Such awesome ladies! Kudos to the owner for obviously being a good leader to his team! Oh!!! The patio area is nicely spaced out and at night time the lights make it feel festive! All in all this place ROCKS!!! My favourite pub!!!

Standard pub fare - what we tried was excellent and service was top notch. Decor is a bit dated but was clean. Drinks were somewhat pricey.

We had a great time at the fundraiser. Our waitress Becca was awsome! Always there to help us with perfect timing, a great sense of humor, and super personality! Good job Becca!

Was good.food.and drinks. Staff is awsome. Location is great. Prices are a bit on the high end, still,, worth the visit.

Everything you'd expect from pub style food. Great service, and great character. Great place to watch a game, or play your own game of pool.

Only had a quick beer and lunch at the bar but this is the type of place I like for sure. Down to earth and old school and looks like a real pub inside. This will be my stop for sure when I'm in town. Oh yeah, the burger and beer were great!

Terrible service don't waste your time going. One server for whole restaurant. 2 menus for 5 people at a table. Drinks took forever and didn't even take food order

Just got off work thought I'd have a few beers and apps with my coworkers, ordered the steak bites, bad mistake don't ever order these ever!!! Nothing like deep fried pieces of outside round that is obscenely chewy never mind the fact they have absolutely no taste other than the lumps of Montreal steak seasoning. I'm sorry but these can't be called steak bites what a joke!!! Service is a joke and this one that's serving right now is absolutely rude. I know where not to spend my hard earned dollars. If I were to make steak bites they would be top sirloin marinated for a minimum of 24 hrs and left as a whole steak portion however many oz's that would be. Then I would grill that steak to med rare flipping it once only then after its done let the steak rest for at least 7-10 minutes. Then cut as required and serve with some sort of inspirational sauce, I'm sorry but chipotle mayo isn't the right sauce here.<br/>Anyway, overall I'd come here for a drink and that's about it. However I would be biased by judging this whole menu based on 1 item, but usually 1 item tells you what you need to know.

Good drinks.  Only been here once but it was okay. Bartender and service was good. Wasn't sure about the food but I will try them again.

I wish that they had a whole take out menu to order from when you dont want to go out.  But besides that we have been there many many times and have always had a great experiance. Keep up the good work, you are all doing awesome :)Thank you !!

Harassed and attacked by manager over a bill that wasn't even mine, I wouldn't suggest this place to NYONE not safe or people place at all<br/><br/><br/>-----03 Mar, 2015-----<br/><br/>Harrassed and attacked my manager. I would not go here the staff was very rude I had a manager harass me and attack me when I tried to leave over a bill that wasn't mine completely humiliated and the owners did nothing about this the lady is still working there for EVERYONES safety I wouldn't go here or take fmily here not a good place

Great place. Decent food, but way under staffed.... Poor girls can't keep up

Go Elsewhere. Went here for dinner, when we sat down the table was covered in a sticky mess (obviously drinks were spilled and not wiped up for a long period of time). When the waitress came she put the menus on the table and we had to ask for the table to be wiped. As for the food, I have always said Characters does not have good food, but lately a couple of people have told me otherwise so I thought maybe it had changed... It hasn't. There was the butt of a head of lettuce in my starter Caesar salad, my pasta dinner which I requested be baked was ice cold and they forgot my garlic bread. When they did bring the garlic bread it was smaller than the palm of my hand and the butter wasn't even melted! Beer is good and pool is fun, but do yourself a favor and don't eat here.

Omgosh! Am a zing burger. ! We stopped by seen pool tables. Awesome prices for pints and burger on wednesday. Older crowd. But I'm sure weekends are bumping. Juke box

It's gone way down hill. Staff and food used to be really good, but we just left there without ordering anything because of the staff. We got there about 9 p.m., waitress "busy" and bartender not covering. When she finally did come over, we asked about a drink special posted on their Facebook page and she wouldn't even consider honoring it and pointed to the specials board, saying, annoyed, those are the specials, and walked away. We walked out.

I will never go here again!!. Character's used to be such a great place to go for some food and drinks, So when a friend from Vancouver comes out to Chilliwack to go for a couple of drinks on 2/2/14 Sunday night at 11:00pm I suggest we go to Characters. <br/>BIG MISTAKE!<br/>We get there and there's about 5 cars in the parking lot. We walk inside and there are about 10 customers just going about their night, and then this dark haired girl wearing a wife beater and faded arm tattoos walks over to us with a snooty look on her face and says in probably the bitchiest tone I have ever heard a public service worker ever use "sorry guys the bar is closing early tonight." so we check the hours of operation only to find that they aren't supposed to close until 12. Still standing near the entrance, she comes back over and says "It's bartenders choice. sorry guys. Corky's should be open till 12 though, do you know where that is?" like that is gonna get you out of a bad review. Her sheer lack of any reputable customer service, and prominent attitude problem has put a red flag on Character's reputation and I will not be returning. If it was my bar, she would be out of there ASAP, because it's just BAD BUSINESS to refuse paying customers! The only reason there is to close early, is if it's dead. It was clearly not dead. So we did what she suggested, we went to Corky's and they were actually open until 1:00. Even better. And we were served by the loveliest lady named Raven. <br/>Like how I did that? Turned this negative review for Characters into a positive review for Corky's. (:

Went Sunday November 24 for breakfast for first time. Food was good and had great service with a smile from Callie. Will definitely be back.

Just ate here for the first time. Food was good and portions are huge. Couldn't finish my whole meal. Wings were excellent with a nice crispy outside. Service was better than I get from most of the other pubs around town. It's what you would expect from a pub server. Prices are very reasonable for the food and the liquor.

Awesome food!!! Awesome drinks. The only waitress I ever liked was Julie... The others need some customer service skills

Low on Cash? Big on Appetite?. This is a typical pub with tasty "comfort" cuisine, big portions and low prices.<br/>Service is friendly, if you can get a waitress to your table.

Very good. Had lunch at Characters Rest. and the food was good. Salad fresh and wholesome. Service was great and staff friendly. Will go again. Thanks

Going downhill!. Used to be a nice place to eat. Fodd is good and lots of selection. I don't want to go back to a place with rude waitresses that take all day to serve you! Floors were dirty also.

Horrible service!. Food good and good price, but service and waitresses always seem rude and decor is starting to look like it needs som refreshing!

Characters pub -chilliwack. This place sucks! Service was bad, food was terrible, bathroom was broken and dirty. No toilet paper. I guess I should have known when it was only my date and I and a drunk sleeping at the bar on a Thursday evening. If it is charm and good food you are looking for, you definitely won't find it here.

Great place to catch a game and catch up with friends after work or for a lunch. Friendly staff always take care of you here
