Review Hide-a-way Cafe - Chilliwack

Love this place, I come here for strictly breakfast for the last 7 months and today I decided to try the steak sandwich. I upgraded to a poutine instead of fries. Amazing service as always, amazing coffee. The steak was a tad hard to cut into but PERFECTLY cooked, the poutine was decent but some of the fries were on the undercooked side. But the majority of them were cooked so nothing to make a fuss over. I will most likely stick to their amazing breakfast but glad I tried something from the lunch menu! Definitely try them out if you haven’t already!

This place is hidden but it is absolutely worth finding..The breakfast is delicious and generous portions with wonderful coffee. The service here is awesome,They asked if you need anything. Refill extra jam politly and frequently..This is Chilliwack's hidden gem the price is economical but does not skimp on portions or quality!! If you are tired of overpriced establishments in Chilliwack come here .you won't be dissatisfied.

The Hide-A-Way Omelette is full of veggies and meat that bring so much flavour. And they have marble-rye bread for toast!

Staff are very knowledgeable and capable of taking the order efficiently and bringing out our food in a timely matter. Food is good. I really enjoyed the Chai 😊

Food was good when we were there the first couple times but then we tried to come 3 more times about 30-35 minutes before closing and were told that they were already closed. Really frustrating

Ok we didn’t wait to take a pic when we got our meals, too good to wait! My son had 2 pancakes and a side of bacon and I had the two egg breakfast with bacon, shredded hash browns and toast. The pancakes were fluffy, the eggs were served Sunnyside up with the yokes runny and the whites fully cooked. The bacon was thick pieces and cooked to perfection. There was only one server with 10 tables but she handled it like a veteran server. With coffee the bill car in under $20. I have been here before and will definitely come again. Value & good food =👍

It's not flamboyant or trendy. Service is great, popular with locals and the prices are very reasonable. Their focus is breakfast. It opens early and closes at 230pm. Whenever I'm visiting Chilliwack, I always go here for breakfast.

Not happy !. From reading reviews of this place it seemed really nice, friendly and like it had good food so me and my girlfriend decided to go for lunch.. when we got there we were told we could pick where we would like to sit, got menus and our drink orders taken. After not even sitting there for 5 minutes the server comes up to us and asks if we're ready, we weren't, so we asked for another moment.. she kept hanging around our table and she literally came back in about a minute. My girlfriend was getting uncomfortable and just told me to order, as she took our order she was leaning on the bench on the other side of our booth (we were both sitting on one side) I got an omelet with pan potatoes and toast. It came out very fast, maybe about 5 minutes. The potatoes were not cooked at all and extremely dry on the outside. The omelet was good though. Also not once was I asked if I wanted more coffee. Over all from the service and the food we won't be back

Soooooo Gooooood!. This, by far, is my favourite restaurant in chilliwack! Food is ALWAYS good! Prices are too! Waitress always friendly and making sure cups are full and food is good! Would highly recommend this little gem!

Very Happy. I work by myself and can't leave to get food, I have been trying every restaurant that will deliver before 4 and was super happy with the food. I got The butter chicken with rice and the chilli chicken with naan. It is all so delicious and will last me at least 4 lunches. Im excited to come in and see what else this place has to offer.

I come in here for breakfast (even late morning) and to read the paper. Eggs and bacon are done as you ask and there's never a complaint. Stop in for a plate and judge for yourself. One time I brought the kids. One had a poutine and there were enough fries to feed the restaurant lol. Very good food and service. Well worth it.

Chilliwack's Hidden Gem!. Ate here for the second time today - WOW! Hubby loved his pancakes, bacon and eggs and I tried the Chili Chicken, extra spicy - LOVED IT! We will be back to try the Butter Chicken very soon! Great value and lots of food!

Burger was awesome, my wife loved the butter chicken and the price was very reasonable. I can definitely see myself becoming a regular at the Hide Away Cafe.

Shouldn't be Hidden Away. I have lived in the Chwk area for the better part of 10 years.
I am not entirely sure just how long the cafe has been in business, however I hadn't had the pleasure of eating there until I tried it based on a friends recommendation a few weeks ago. Since then I have returned 3 times. Once for breakfast reasonably priced and tasty (big portions of everything). Once for lunch, I tried the 'famed' butter chicken poutine (delicious, also huge) and then once again to try out the weekly "All you can eat specials" and for $7.99 it is truly unbeatable. Usually the owner welcomes you after you are seated and I have had only good experiences with the other wait staff. Thumbs up for sure. Good deals, yummy food and decent service.

Not impressed lately. Used to think highly of this place, but now I find their food pretty sub-par. I really don't like how dirty the place always looks. I mean there is literally a table topper being held together by a bandaid! really? gross. The place needs an overhaul.

Delicious. You must try the vegetable pakoras. Absolutely delicious! The owners are very friendly, and the lady does the cooking and is very authentic tasting. They are very good hosts. Tired of fast food and bad service try the Hideaway.

Took the in-laws and the kids there for dinner. Everyone agreed this was the best meal we've had in ages. The young girl serving us was amazing and actually personable and genuine. Our meals were a combo of Indian, breakfast, grilled cheese and fries and they were all delicious. We've found our new favorite restaurant and will be back again. I hope more people find out about this gem in Sardis. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

I eat Hideaway butter chicken at least twice a week. Nothing better. The service I friendly, the food is fresh, the owners are great people. Never had a bad experience! :)

One of our favorites. Great place to eat. Family run and all day breakfast with good bacon. Love the Indian food and they make a great burger, too. Friendly staff.

I have been going to this cafe for 2 years now and after today I will never go back. The older waitress with the black hair is THE worst waitress and possibly the rudest person I have ever encountered. She's been there forever and i have always found her very unpleasant but today was totally unacceptable. after her reaction to me making a complaint about my food (which I have never ever done before) she rolled her eyes in my face... Shook her head and walked away from me. I had worked as a waitress for 5 years and have never seen a reaction like that... I was nice about it (it took me 15 minutes to get the nerve to say something to her) but her actions were disrespectful, inappropriate and arrogant. I definitely won't be returning to the hideaway again if that nasty old lady continues to ruin my meals and mood!

Great!. We had a wonderful meal there last week...Veggie Pakoras - so many on the plate we had to bring some home! Mr. B loved the lamb curry with a heaping plate of rice along side. When the waitress mentioned that it was only the half order we were floored - the half order was more that enough for one person. I had the clubhouse - very fresh veggies, real roasted turkey (might have been chicken, but whatever) and a huge pile of fries - again enough to bring home for the next day.

Very family run, polite and efficient teenage waitress and her adorable little sister. We love family run restaurants with real food, and this fit the bill.

Only two minor things - no a/c, but it wasn't super hot and they have a huge fan going, and also the only diet soda they had was diet coke. Blech. Who still drinks that? Coke Zero, Sprite Zero, diet Orange, diet Rootbeer...so easy to come by and would have made my day to have some selection.

Great place. In this part of town-this is clearly the best restaurant. I got tired of fast food joints and overly priced restaurants with small portions i could do better at home. too many sushi bars around here also! One day I got a tip from someone at A&W that they had breakfast at a cafe around the corner Hideaway Cafe. To my surprise it was a nice place with great food. Atmosphere is cozy. New staff are great, friendly and makes you feel at home. So many great choices on menu. Best hamburger and fries anywhere! Chili chicken is awsome- for the spice lovers!
