Review Decades Coffee Club - Chilliwack

Rianna Laboucane
This weekend I was in a total pinch- I needed a gluten free / dairy free birthday cake in less than 2 days! I messaged Decades and not only did they respond so quickly, they were able to help me out immediately! I picked up the cake so easily after a couple quick messages back and forth and was blown away with how GOOD the cake looked! I am not celiac or dairy free but this is a cake I could eat 😍 I haven’t eaten the cake yet although I’m sure it’s amazing. I felt compelled to come online and leave this bakery an amazing review before I even tried the product because of the amazing customer service I experienced this morning. I can’t wait to surprise my mother in law with a cake she can actually enjoy along with the rest of the family. Edited to add: The cake was phenomenal. All of us enjoyed it, it was delicious. No one would have even known it was dairy/gluten free if I hadn’t told them! Thank you Decades!

Popular local coffee shop. Good options for many special dietary requirements and a variety of drinks, both hot and cold. Probably one of the best London Fogs I’ve ever tried. Always seems quite busy and has small meeting areas/rooms for groups that need one. Staff always friendly and helpful too. Not always a large range of snack/dessert options in the evening but much more to pick from at lunchtime.

"The Greatest Coffee shop in Chilliwack." Delicious cake and great coffee assortment!(Especially, Latte Frape :D) They've used small spaces for meeting rooms and also even there's a nice quiet loft area as well. Also, they are providing wi-fi service. The barista was very kind. One of barista, she recommended the Latte Frape. It was really nice. I've never ever seen like the Latte Frape. Awesome! I want to visit again and I'd try the others coffee frape. LoL

Free parking in front of the cafe. Cc accepted. Free wifi. Ample sitting areas. Good for groups. Nature themed decor. Serve coffee, teas, specialty drinks, desserts, pastries, made to order light lunches. Friendly staff.

Was invited to a tasting event and the food was delicious. Really like the broccoli spinach salad. Also really liked the peanut butter truffle ice cream

Lovely local cafe. Everything feels so fresh and natural, all in a cozy settings. The lavender london fog was so light and smooth. Such a great place for a cozy relaxing snack break.

I had won a contest on Facebook for a free spinach and artichoke dip. So today all excited I walk down to enjoy my winnings. This was a HUGE disappointment got some gross puree stuff that didnt even resemble the actual dip I was expecting. My husband said good thing we dudnt gave to pay for this. If I was being charged for it I sure would have sent it back.

Came here today for the first time, and instantly fell in love with the place! The staff were super friendly and helpful, the cheesecake desserts were delicious, and the atmosphere and decor were so inviting! A fun place for kids as well, will definitely be returning!

The staff here is fantastic and so is the tea. Definitely worth the trip

Very disappointed today. First had to go and ask for my soup and tea after waiting for 20 minutes. Once the tea pot came, the staining on the spout and running down the side was very very dirty. As well, that was not potato soup, that was more like a thick porridge consistency. I will not be returning.

I love Decades because the staff is really friendly. A little bit more than Tim Horton but it is a local owner.

Since moving to Chilliwack in 2014, this is perhaps our best "find" to date. My lattes are always perfect and delicious and the desserts are amazing. Comfortable and eclectic... A throwback to the coffee houses of years past. Love this place! ❤️☕️

awesome place. awesome drinks, next time I'm going to try the food which is probably just as awesome as the drinks.

Completely devastated you no longer have the super delicious Zebra hot chocolate would have been prefect on this rainy night. Nothing left for me to drink there.

You might have to wait a bit longer for your coffee than you would at Starbucks, but sometimes it's good not to be in a hurry. This is a great place to slow down a bit and get refreshed. Coffee and food can't be beat!

I went this weekend for the first time and I will be going back regularly for sure! The smores frappe was so good. The atmosphere is amazing - so welcoming and inviting. Service was great!

Most days I would give it a higher rating, I was just disappointed with my nachos today. Expensive for what they were- essentially chips and salsa. Cheese was almost non existent and about 1/8 cup tomato bits. Also we were there 2 hours and our dishes were never cleared off our table which would've made for a more pleasant experience. The staff were super friendly, my English breakfast tea was delicious and the environment is great.

The staff are amazing. The owner is wonderful and a local. The setting is beautiful. I love bringing everyone I know to this place.

Love the place from the first visit on Valentine's Day! Yummy, cozy, friendly! Wish to have more spots like Decades in downtown Chilliwack!

This is a coffee shop that I visited along with a large group of colleagues during a recent lab retreat in Chilliwack. Although not particularly large, they have a pretty good number of chairs, as well as private rooms for larger groups like ours. Since it was pretty late in the afternoon when we visited (around 5 o'clock), their baked good/dessert selection was pretty limited. They have a relatively small food menu consisting of different fillings (Bella Roma, Tropical Chicken, Pesto Chicken) in either flatbread, panini, wrap or quesadilla form, as well as a decent selection of either cold or hot drinks. I had a Pesto Chicken Quesadilla, Nachos, and their Seasonal London Fog. While I wasn't a fan of the nachos, their quesadilla was fantastic. Service-wise, the staff were reasonably friendly, but a bit inattentive and casual, and got our orders wrong/mixed up a few times (although I can't blame them too much since there were about a dozen people). All in all, while I wasn't really blown away by the place (I think that there are much better spots back home in Vancouver), I did have a pretty decent time there.

Seasonal London Fog (12 oz, $4.85):
3.5/5
Their seasonal version was lavender flavoured. The tea had a really nice fragrance of citrus, and was very creamy and foamy. It was a tad on the sweeter side, and I would have liked the tea flavour to be stronger. I also was unable to detect any lavender.

Nachos ($12.45):
1.5/5
This consisted of tortilla chips topped with cheese, tomatoes and olives, and were served with sour cream and salsa. I did not really care much for this dish. The chips I found to be a bit stale and not as crispy as I want. There wasn't that much cheese present, and most of the chips were bare. I did enjoy the sour cream.

Pesto Chicken Quesadilla ($10.65):
4/5
This consisted of a tortilla filled with pesto, chicken, and cheese. The menu describes it best "simple and delicious". The tortilla was perfectly grilled and was nice and crispy. There was a generous amount of filling inside. The chicken was incredibly tender and juicy while the cheese and pesto lent great flavour and richness.

Summary:
Food: 3/5
Price: 3.5/5
Service: 3/5
Overall: 3/5
Recommendations: Pesto Chicken Quesadilla

Decades is a cozy local coffee shop, featuring a health concious menu, equal opportunity minded staff, local artist pieces that can be purchased in store, wrapped together with a homely but tasteful interior. With cushy seating, lowered warm lights, and upper balcony with a fire place, and plenty of outlets, Decades is the go to place for locals wanting a community shop with slight Vancouver vibes.

The drink menu is large, with a healthy price range. There are only two drink sizes, and it can feel a bit pricey if your order doesn't offer refills and are used to the bucket sizes offered by Starbucks and Tim Hortons. Still, they offer unique and imaginitive options, and the coffee quality will impress even the most stuck up of coffee connoisseurs.

The food menu is on the pricier side as well, but is better balanced out with large portions. While there won't be much for those with junkier tastes, vegetarians and meat eaters alike will find their preferences catered to. There is also a diverse range of desserts which are cycled weekly. In the summer expect desserts made with local fruit and berries for a delicious treat.

In summary, this cafe is a local gem, but keep portion size and cost in mind when visiting. Final review is 9/10.

Being used to coffee shops (or two) on every corner in Vancouver downtown, it was a little hard to find a cafe in Chilliwack for some afternoon snack which wasn’t Starbucks. Luckily, we stumbled upon Decades as we drove around in the pouring rain. The cafe looked pretty new with a loft for more seating. The staff were pretty friendly.

As coffee shops go I would go here over Tim Horton's or Starbuck's any time. My wife and I have been here more times than we can recall and mostly in the evenings. The staff are friendly, very knowledgable of their products, and they know how to put whipped cream on a mans piece of pie or mocca. The seating upstairs is so relaxing by the fireplace you can get caught up in studies for school or friendly conversation. The only downfall is that they eventually close and the relaxing has to end.

We usually come here when visiting friends and want to go somewhere that is not at there place for a late night warm beverage and a sweet. The drinks are spot on and their pastries hit the spot. This place is open late (my experiences, past 11pm). Comfortable, relaxing environment. Only pit fall, is that they get crowded for the space that they have, but it is not decades fault for that.

Kinda pricey for the quality, but a great spot for group meet ups. I feel like your mostly paying for atmosphere here, an atmosphere that is most often worth it.

Friendly staff, amazing tea blends, and their desserts are pretty tasty (though I personally find the main course food lacking in the same quality).

Perfect. Comfortable, lots of seating around lunch time, and delicious drinks and food. Recommend the cream pies and drinks such as coolios and the fuzzy peach tea. They have rentable conference rooms and a great atmosphere. I don't usually comment on restrooms, but theirs were beautiful and clean. A chilliwack favorite.

Cozy in the winter. More of a coffee shop or desert place. Nice atmosphere to sit by the fireplace and read a paper.

Coffee shop experience. Quiet, friendly, and the coffee is good. All the things I expect from a coffee shop. It's one of my favorite places in Chilliwack.

Spend Time. Decades has a quiet and comfortable atmosphere that's perfect for meeting an old friend that you haven't seen for "decades" or for having coffee and pie over business. The double staircase over the barista with lounge chairs upstairs that entice you to relax by the fireplace.
