Review L'gros Luxe Chicoutimi - Chicoutimi

I absolutely love this place. Food is always great, but for this last visit it was ok. We were seated by the door and the music was very loud. Not a lot of people on a Thursday night, wish we could of been placed a bit more inwards away from the door. Seen lots of take outs though.

Excellent representative of Gros Luxe. The food is fresh. Simplicity, good mix of tastes, classics burger/tartar/poutine you won't be disappointed by the pub food. The place is French Boudoir style. Clean. A very good place to get something to drink different than the traditional whine and beer GET CRAZY. As usual... The only difference here is the famous Regional service ... Don't be pushy and you'll feel in the family. Very good ambiance. Hard to find better in town.

Food was great but on the other the service was less than ideal. 1) once we were seated it took us 25 minutes to get a bottle of water to our table and an extra 20 to get the glasses to go along with it 2) it took 1:15h to get the food 3) waitress always seemed to forget what we asked he previously 4) my friend ordered a coffee and ended up with a latte 5) we ordered a pitcher of mojito to split between my girlfriend and I and we're very clear about it, but once we paid the bill realised that the waitress had it split 4ways and the only thing she came up with was sorry instead of trying to fix her mistake. 6) tables surrounding us were left with dirty dishes throughout the whole time we were there As stated above my issue isn't the food but the service that was less than acceptable and they only reason why I stayed until the end was because I was with friends.

Very tasty and filling Fiesta Mexicaine Poutine! The fishburger was also good but its accompanying salad was quite small and its dressing a bit too bitter. Service was relatively fast and effective. We enjoyed our meal, prices were reasonable, so good value overall. Tons of nearby alternatives but no issues recommending this one.

Came here for a drink before dinner. Took 2 sips of my Caesar (the mango one, maybe my own mistake) before setting it aside because it tasted straight up weird. It also didn't come with the garnish that was listed on the menu. I thought other reviewers were exaggerating about the volume of the music, but it is actually CRAZY loud inside. Decent service but their mask policy is all over the place — half the staff were wearing, the other half were not.

Lots of vegan options (fried “chicken” mushroom sammy is yum), music can be loud unless you’re used to dining in the middle of a rave, good beer on tap, would recommend!

Very happy that they have vegan and vegetarian options available. This is essentially the same as the Gros Luxe in Montreal. The service was fast because the restaurant was pretty empty. Essentially, nothing crazy about the meals here but the atmosphere is cozy enough. Portions were not very large but since it’s pretty greasy, I’m not too mad about that. Does the job.

We waited a very long time (approx. 1 hour) for our food, and when it did finally arrive it wasn't great. The batter around fish (fish and chips) was hard and had been in the deep fryer too long. Our food had been sitting in the window too long as well. Even though it was still warm when it was served it cooled down very fast.
