Review Dave's Lobster - Charlottetown

This was such a treat. The staff was so kind to me and took the time to explain the difference between rolls. I took Sumn Fancy because this was my first lobster roll and I'm more accustomed to warm lobster. I smiled the entire time I was eating. So good! Obviously pricey but I was ok with it.

All my daughter wanted for her 10th bday was a yummy lobster roll so we headed here for the patio space with our dog. Very tasty! Enjoyed the lobster roll/ chips/ beverage combo. Just wish there was a bit more shelter and a patio heater as we had to sit outside and temps dropped to 12-14C after the rain. Impressed with the bun (good quality grilled big sausage type bun with butter. Can always take more lobster 🦞 but hey, it’s not in season in Sept and $$. Expect to pay $20 for PEI lobster rolls this time of year, seems steep but market prices are high right now. We didn’t get a side pickle so maybe we didn’t order the same as the other reviewer from three weeks ago. It was totally worth it anyway. YUM! p.s. Thanks for the water bowl for the pooch! 🐶 ❤️

This place was recommended by a local to us; the game changer was the buttery homemade bun. This was the best lobster roll we had in PEI, and we went back for a second time before our flight.

I ordered the "Local" lobster roll and it looked amazing until I took a bite. The lobster was definitely previously frozen - it was chewy, watery and tasteless. I normally wouldn't post a review but at $27, it was a huge waste of money. Didn't want to mention it to the nice girls working there since it's not their fault, but would not recommend.

It was more expensive than I had expected, I left still hungry as I was not prepared for the price, though understandable given the market price of lobster. No arguments on the taste though, the "Some Fancy" roll did taste fantastic and made for a very decadent treat.

I chose 'The Local' and my wife chose 'Some Fancy', both were excellent with big chunks of lobster. The staff were incredibly friendly with big smiles. It was a great lunch experience

Overrated. Had lobster roll and paid $29.99 for small amount of food not even tasty. I had a way tasty lobster roll in charlottetown and Halifax with cheaper price in the same week ( almost same Market price value )

100% biased because Dave is my brother. 100% in love with this amazing food. Fresh, delicious, generous portions of perfectly balanced favors. Buns are toasted with exactly the right amount of butter. The meat of a one pound lobster is exactly the correct amount. The "Local", a traditional style mayo dressed lobster roll was the best I have ever eaten (I can say I have eaten a staggering number of lobster rolls over the years, up and down the East Coast). Then I tried the lobster taco and that became the new best lobster thing I've ever eaten. Then I tried the new special Chef Ilona lobster roll with a Thai green curry treatment and guess what? A whole new level of lobster roll is born. I didn't have the ability to eat one more bite but I won't be surprised if the hot garlic, lemon butter "Some Fancy" version that I intend to have tomorrow is a whole new favorite. The Gahan blueberry ale is spectacular , not sweet and very subtle teeny taste of blueberries. House Pinot Grigio was perfect with the lobster. I'd go back for dinner but I made plans to cook (lobster) before I understood how truly delicious these lobster rolls are. It's going to be a rough summer trying to pick between all my new favorite lobster rolls! Hats off to you, Dave.

Dave's is the best. If you want some tender lobster wrapped in a delicious blanket of butter grilled bun; Dave's is the place. Our youngsters (who also like lobster but can't yet complete a whole roll) get great grilled cheese there, too.

We took all the kids for and end of school year celebration and everyone loved it! Although Victoria thinks it should be called Davey's! :) Lobster rolls and grilled cheese..all a hit.
