Review Wai Heung Restaurant - Central Saanich

We had the dinner for 4. Great portion sizes - enough for a little leftover lunch the next day. Enjoyed the fried rice and chow mein. The chicken balls were delish. If you're in the area, I'd recommend Wai Heung. I look forward to ordering from them again.

I came upon the Wai Heung on a Saturday at around 1:00 pm and it was deserted. They have lunch specials which are traditional non-traditional Westernized favourites but they do have a good menu of more traditional dishes I’ve tried and liked. This time I tried a special - lean sweet and sour pork with fried rice. If you get steamed rice the special is $8.95! $10.95 if you have it with fried rice. A little on the sour scale but it’s probably the best sweet and sour on the island (which granted doesn’t say much as the Chinese food in Victoria isn’t fantastic). I thought the food was fresh and excellent. I’ll be back again. Very clean inside and the service prompt and polite. Of course I was the only on there at the time!

The place is take out only so that limits the atmosphere.Large servings, good food at least what we had. Chicken fried rice, black bean beef and Lemon chicken

I was really surprised. Great food (no MSG headaches), nice dining area, and good service. The prices are good, too.

We are here often. Food is fresh and fast. The staff are fun and efficient. The prices are exactly what you'd expect.

Had the house chop suey - very tasty and great balance of different proteins and veges! Still just doing take out, but so glad they are open!

Great food. I have tried it all on the peninsula but Wai Heung always delivers a great meal. All of the flavours are unique and the ingredients are fresh. I normally see the same gal up front and she is always running and working hard to get it all done and keep the takeout rolling. I stopped trying all the others for the last year now as Wai Heung is now my place. You have my loyalty because you do a great job. 5 stars!

I don't particularly like most Chinese restaurants anymore, because they are usually very greasy. This is one of the best places that I've ever found. I have never been disappointed with any of their dishes, (although I still find their egg rolls to be quite greasy). But aside from that I give them a high rating as far as Chinese food goes.

Take out only but the food was excellent. We had prawns and snow peas, beef and broccoli, chicken with ginger and pineapple; and mushroom chow mein. All were delicious with lots of fresh fresh veggies.

Always get take out from here and I never can stop eating the food it is SO GOOD. I especially love the chicken fried rice (a chicken fried this rice?) and the egg rolls!

A few coworkers and I eat here at least once a month. Great food and staff.

The food is excellent! They definitely have some talent in the kitchen... plus they're very kind friendly people. They obviously care about the food and their customer satisfaction. We go for lunch most Fridays, dinner occasionally and have never once been disappointed. Those people that complained about a hair in the food failed to mention they ate almost all of it and then took back the nearly empty containers. They were given a full refund even though they ate 90% of it. To top it off they go write that awful spiel. Tacky. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

This used to be our go-to place for Chinese food but it has started going downhill the last few months. After tonight we will not be going back. We had a hair cooked in to our beef and when we called to tell them we were bringing it back, they didn't apologize and hesitated to give us our money back. The lady there was very rude and tried to make it look like our problem, horrible customer service!

This is our go-to place for Chinese Food on the peninsula. We always do take-out, and I don't think we've had anything that we didn't like. The only reason we don't get their food more often, is that they don't deliver and all the pizza places do.

We just enjoyed a delicious take out feast! So glad this restaurant is on the Peninsula.

Delicious! Not too salty or too greasy :) Great addition to Saanichton village!!
