Review Bagels & Brew - Castlegar

The freshly opened MadPress Coffee is exactly that, FRESH! everything from the menu to the decor is such a breath of fresh air for Castlegar. an inviting interior that's cozy yet funky, amazing staff that greet you with a smile, and INCREDIBLE food. I have tried a few of the new bowl options they offer and all have been amazing! My favourite has to be the Santa Fe bowl (with tofu instead of chicken). So grateful to have something like this in Castlegar.

Tried all the coffee places in town and the coffee here is the best! Although I didn't have any, the food coming out of the kitchen looked sumptuous. I understand there are new owners and the people behind the counter were very customer friendly and accommodating. I heard them work with one woman to make a special diet sandwich on gluten free bread. I highly recommend this plane for both coffee and food.

Cute cafe, friendly staff, lots of menu options for breakfast and lunch. Come here every year for the paninis and coffee.

The food here is amazing and the staff are very kind. My sort of place! And they even have fresh-baked bagels to go (the flavours they have will satisfy even the most discerning of bagel lover). Oh, and the coffee is fabulous and served in a mug as big as your head! :-)

I got the tofu wrap and it was really good! And the service was super quick and prices are really reasonable. Highly recommend!

Was in castlegar for a couple of days and the housekeeper at the hotel I was staying at recommended this cafe. It was much better than the one I went to downtown. The bagels are amazing and the coffee is really good. Definitely recommend if you’re a newbie to town!

Bagels are soft and delicious. Several types of cream cheese and the two we selected a very intense, fantastic flavour. Great coffee and lattes etc as well. My husband had a caramel macchiato and it was one of the best we've had.

Coffee was good. There was only one other customer, and one customer came in for take out. The restaurant has nice. Decor. The wash room was spotless and beautifully done.

Great homemade bagels, the Greek Melt was nice and stacked. Decent value for the price. Good borscht also, wasn't too excited about the packaged crackers. I would definitely recommend.

Majority of my experiences here were tasty food and coffee, however on one occasion here the service was slow and the staff seemed like they couldn’t really be bothered. The food on this occasion wasn’t as good, and they were playing music that was a bit emo/almost screamo stuff which was unpleasant and strange for a cafe type place. I think this was an exception though, so I would go back.

Great little strip-mall coffee shop. The atmosphere inside is nice--despite it being in a strip mall. Coffee is all-right however the star is the bagels!

The California bagel melt is sublime! Amazing lunch and coffee 5 stars deserved!

Always liked the Mom n' Pop shop style cafe, especially if your going to sit down, read the paper knd of coffee!
