Review Riptide Marine Pub - Campbell River

Almost went to chain next door but stumbled into this gem instead. They're great! Open late on a Sunday. Nice service, cool indoor and outdoor spaces. My oyster burger and peppercorn penne were very good!

I enjoyed our visit here. The ambiance was great. Though they did have some TVs playing sports, they weren't in your face like many other pubs. The place was packed when we got there, due to Xmas parties but it wasn't too loud. The host was very accommodating. Because of the parties there wasn't any tables when we got there. After sitting at the bar, he brought us to a table that had opened up. By the time the rest of our group arrived he had a larger table ready for us. The food was pretty good for pub food. They did have to bring my wife's nachos out 3 times due to kitchen mistakes. When she got it the way she ordered it, it was pretty good. They didn't charge us for them, so kudos. Where they really stood out was the live entertainment. A jazz duo named Easy Street was playing. They were excellent and had a great repertoire from the 60s to today. We have already decided to go back next time they play.

I had an amazing experience. The service was great and quick. The atmosphere was casual and comfortable. The food...wow. We had the seafood linguini, the black and blue burger and the muscle and clam plate. The alfredo seafood linguini was spectacular, creamy and the perfect portion size. The black and blue burger was juicy and what a true canadian burger should be. If I lived in the community, I'd be back often. Oh and the carmel Cheesecake. Get it.

The food was really good , good flavours , got caught up in a nice conversation with the person beside me so no pics but Jim the bartender was great too!

Been here a couple times, the consensus of everyone both times has been "the food was nothing special but the ambience was nice". Would go here again only if nothing else is open again. The fish and chip wrap was pretty good though.

We dropped by here for dinner tonight and it was a decent experience. They pour a good pint of Guinness, and the calamari is really good. The fish tacos are flavourless, and not good. The chicken blt wrap is meh. My friend also have the black and blue burger, which is huge but only okay. Very messy to eat. Good place to grab a drink and some appies but wouldn’t return for mains.

Great atmosphere and an excellent menu. Ranging from pub food to entrées. Best desserts In town. Ordered crab rangoon penne and they gave me penne with cheese, somehow missing the crab and rangoon.

Service was good, food was good except my garlic toast tasted more like buttery bread. Garlic toast is pretty easy to make but perhaps it was a one off 🤔 My husband had the "black and blue" burger and it was tasty. Sincerely, Ms. Fancy Google Reviewer 5 million + picture views

The Riptide Marine Pub catered our wedding in September 2017. Everything about our experience was absolutely amazing. Christine was such a pleasure to work with and went above and beyond. She is extremely knowledgable about everything wedding (not just limited to catering)! And the food... SO delicious! We received numerous compliments (and no complaints!) on how amazing the food was. All of the staff working that night were friendly, plates cleared quickly and the buffet was always stocked full. Honestly cannot say enough good things about the entire experience! HIGHLY recommend!!!! - Thank you all so much! xo

Was visiting the area and a local recommended Riptide to us. We went in expecting a regular pub - but it was more than that. Excellent atmosphere. It was loud - but in a friendly pub loud kind of way - lots of conversation going on, people having a good time loud. The food was excellent!!!! Prices were what you would expect, servings were good portions :-)

Riptides is the best They do a cook what u catch ,they cooked my salmon to perfection Place was highly recommended by my fishing guide Calvin from Denali charters The best charter I’ve used ,used him twice & came in with our limit both times 5 stars to Denali charters as well

I took my parents there recently and my husband had a bowl of seafood! Literally. It was loaded. The rest of us had the rib eye steaks.... melt in your mouth. Cooked to perfection and loads of yummy sides. My husband and I eat out at other restaurants quite often. when looking for a steakhouse, go to the Riptide!

A friend recommended the Riptide to us - we had gone before a few years ago and it was good - this time it was excellent. Great food - great service- great atmosphere!

We went out for a date night last week and it was a 10/10 experience. We had a very pleasant host and a great friendly server, prompt service, great cheery atmosphere and the food was delicious! I had a dinner salad with prawns and it was exactly what the menu described and my boyfriend had a pizza that was on special and he couldn't stop eating it lol. 10/10, 5� experience!!!

We had our team lunch catered by riptide for a staff training on Monday and the food was delivered to us at Sage Spa - it was soo delicious and Christine was a pleasure <3 Thanks again from all of us at Sage! LOVE the Sesame Tuna!!

In the Riptide for dinner this evening - I highly recommend the Seafood Linguini. One of the best pasta dinners I have ever had! Highly recommend the Riptide Pub!!! LOVE THE NEW MENU!!!

This was the most horrendous dinner I have ever had.  We went for my mothers birthday.  It was understaffed, we never received our appy, our food came it was cold, steak was a piece of shoe leather a 5 year old could have cooked it better.  The waitress never checked back in on us, never offered us another glass of wine or a refill of water.   The waitress when she FINALLY came around then made a joke about the food being bad, when we nicely complained.  So Unacceptable. She then told us not to order dessert as it took her 1/2 hour to get someone else, she told us she was about to quit..  In addition to this disastrous disgusting food  I had asked for a side of hot sauce with my meal, when the bill came that's when my hot sauce arrived.  There was a lot of food left on plates around us.  The locals say that they have had really bad meals lately and won't go there.  So I'd say Run find somewhere else to eat.

Great Pub Experience. It's really hard to argue with this place. The location is amazing, the atmosphere is great and the food was surprisingly good. I say surprisingly as this place has disappointment written all over it as a location more than a restaurant. Quite the contrary though, The food is locally sourced and prepared with care. The Fish and Chips were nearly perfect as were the appetizers. Not much else you can ask for from a pub.

RIPTIDE EXPERIENCE. SLOW SLOW SLOW SERVICE We were at the RipTide for St Patrick's Day . Found it was strange that there was parking in the lot. Now we know why. There was maybe 20 people in the entire restaurant and it took 55 mins to get our 2 burgers.My husband got something totally different than he ordered, the waitress got it wrong Why is it that people don't write down what is ordered? took over 55mins to get our food ,and it was totally screwed up. We had given our selves 1.5 hrs to eat ( as our daughter was picking us up so we both could enjoy drink together) within 20 mins before we had to leave our food came and my husband had ordered a chicken burger and he ended up with fish and chips when we told her (waitress) it was wrong she offered to order a chicken burger but it was way too late to eat it . It was annoying .She comped us the meal but the overall experience was not enjoyable. We will be sticking to Courtenay as there restaurants are overall far more superior to what you get in Campbell river Too Bad we have lived in Campbell river for over 20years and would like to stay local but it,s getting to be a challenge.<br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>c

Overpriced, bad food.. The Riptide has nice decor and good service. The food however, is poor. I ordered the bison short ribs and my girlfriend ordered the breaded snapper with tomato salsa, which both were on the entree menu for 25+ dollars a plate. My ribs may have been bison but it tasted like beef to me, and were not slow cooked for nearly long enough and were still somewhat tough, or trimmed for that matter. The sauce was a simple stew gravy sauce served over a confusing melange of grilled vegetables (bok choy?). The snapper was worse, the menu called it "fresh" but it tasted frozen and even a bit fishy tasting like it was starting to turn. The quality of the meal was far below the cost. Will not return.

Really enjoyable. Great service - excellent waitstaff. The food was good - Riptide Salad, Halibut and Tuna were all excellent. Reasonably priced - I disagree with Urban Spoon's rating of $$$. I had two martinis, appy, entree salad, and desert for $45.<br/>I would go back for sure.

Never again. I've lived in CR for years, and i now know better than to ever try lunch or dinner here. the prices are too high for the quality of food you receive. service is great, high volume on the noise. if your looking for a dinner out and have the ability to hear your friends talk dont come here. i have eaten here at least a dozen times and everytime i am disappointed.

Good food. Big portion, very tasty. I'm big fan of sushi and sashimi, their tuna salad was so unreal.

Bad, bad,bad!. We had some friends visiting a while back and took them to the Riptide for a casual supper. An embarrassing mistake! The food, when it finally arrived after an hour wait, ran the gamut from mediocre to downright inedible. I had beef ribs that were literally burned to a cinder. Inexcusable!<br/><br/>I've had decent food here before but the quality seems to have gone so that was my last visit.

Good menu ranging from pub food to slightly fancier fare. Very good beer selection. Friendly service and reasonably priced. This is a good place to go for a casual meal.

Good food in a location with few options. We spent four nights in Campbell River and enjoyed Riptide the best. The beer selection is very good. The salmon sandwich was also tasty. I wouldn't recommend the calamari - not much calamari, a lot of breading.

Great menu...more than just your average pub fare...although the Riptide offers the usual burgers & stuff it's menu had many choices that surprised me. The food was good...next time you're in Campbell River this is the place to eat.
