Review Beertown Public House Cambridge - Cambridge

The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. We had a group of 8 when we visited and our server answered all our questions and helped out by suggesting some drinks which were really good! They had a monthly Special menu and we tried a drink in it (Aloe Tonic) and it was really good. We just had drinks and appetizers and they were good. Would definitely visit again.

Had a great first visit! Despite the restaurant being very busy, our server was attentive and our food/drinks came in a reasonable amount of time. The drink pictured is the blackberry cider punch, a "beer-inspired" cocktail. I really enjoyed it! We also enjoyed the mac and cheese, the brisket platter, and calamari. We will definitely return again soon to try more items :)

I've been here multiple times but this time around everything was perfect. The food was delicious and our waitress was kind and attentive. For appetizer we got the Calamari, which was delicious and crispy! We ordered the Beer'ville Hot Chicken with the side of Kale+Blueberry Salad, and the Smashed Lamb Burger with the side of ceasar salad. And both items were amazing! I'd continue to come here compare to the other locations!

Came here to watch the Leafs lose game 7 sigh. Excellent beer selection here. They give you samplers if you want a taste. Really enjoyed the fish tacos. They were quite big. Fries were good too.

What can I say, this place has great creativity, personality and good vibes. There was a mistake with are order and before it came to the table the district manager( Tammy I think) came and informed us that the steak was over done and sincerely apologized for the delay( we didn't think it was a overly long wait), 5 min later it came and WOW, my wife's steak and blue salad was delicious and the steak was done to perfection as well as my creative Mac and cheese. Do yourself a favor and stop here for lunch/dinner or just a good old pint of beer. Will be back and thanks for your great friendly service,.it's very refreshing!

Stopped by Beertown Cambridge for some drinks & appetizers. The staff there is extremely accommodating; we asked for a change of table to a booth for 8 people and they were happy to cater to that. Our server also recommended her favourite beer / cocktails and they were really good. This place has Wonton Nachos which is so tasty! Tried their limited edition menu cocktail ‘Aloe Tonic’ which was amazing! I hope they have that on their regular menu. The Server mentioned that Beertown will be trying monthly special menu so really excited to try them!

Atmosphere was great we sat on the patio after they did some manuvering with the tables. Server was polite and very knowledgeable about the food. I had the hot chicken sandwich which was good however the bun did not seem to fit the sandwich too much bread to meat ratio. My wife had the lettuce wraps which were excellent. I had two beers the Collective Arts strawberry pina colada sour and the Merrit SVP Saison, both were excellent. Beertown is great spot to try new beers and great food. Strongly recommend...

This was hands down the best service we’ve ever had!!! The Spinach dip was to die for 🤤, I tried the organic draft beer, she the daiquiri cider. Would strongly recommend to anyone looking for good eats and atmosphere. Enjoy cheers 🍻 peeps.

What we’ve ordered: Martini’s Wanton Nachos, Taco Trio (Fish taco, Pork Belly Taco and Brisket Barbacao Taco) Sweet Potato Fries, Fuzzy Peach BelliniWe've heard nothing but positive things from our friends about Beertown in Cambridge, so we couldn’t wait to try it for ourselves! The restaurant has majority of the seating intended for 4+ people and was actually quite busy for a Tuesday afternoon. After being greeted at the door, we were seated by the Manager. It was nice to see him participate in this and we later saw him personally checking on the cleanliness of the bathrooms. It was somewhat loud inside but still felt like a secluded spot in our deep booth at the back. The theme is clearly beer, the giant fridge at the back was stocked with dozens of brands we’ve never even heard of before. A sliding ladder the likes of which used in libraries must to be used to reach the top shelves. The lights are re-purposed beer kegs, and there is a tap at every table which we thought was an awesome idea. Some of the TVs could have been better placed in our opinion, some tables have a view of more than 5 at a time while our wall couldn’t see any.Their menu is a sheet of paper on a clipboard. While at first glance it looks like a rather small selection, we were impressed by the unique options available. Disappointingly, there are no pictures but their website offers some nice insight of what to expect. It’s very creative, they understand pairing food ingredients together for some really inspiring choices. This does come at a cost, we found the prices to be somewhat higher than other places. This restaurant is best for groups, bring your friends for a night of drinking and a nice platter of food to share. The selection of beers, wines and the like is comparable to no other. Having the option of any beer on tap right at your table is really innovative. Our waitress had an excellent attitude. She was pretty diligent considering how busy it was. After seeing what we assume was a dumbstruck look on our face when shown the massive drink list, she asked if we had been before. She explained the menu well and gave us enough time to decide without being intrusive. She was surprised that we both were not drinking, who she thought would be driving later was a little concerning, but none the less our drinks were brought out promptly and our food within 5 minutes. Our food arrived very hot, seemingly small portions but the presentation was impressive. Martini’s wanton nachos were really unique, with an interesting Asian inspired twist. Served on a wooden plank, the Brisket Barbacao was the best of the Taco Trio. The meat was absolutely perfect and the sauce brought it to another level. Their tasty Pica de Gallo really made the fish taco perfect, the fish itself was complemented with the unbelievably spicy Cholula sauce. The meat on the pork belly taco was great and the seasoning was suitable but I didn’t particularly like the coleslaw on it (solely personal preference). Sweet potato fries were served very hot and these didn’t disappoint, the tiny dip provided was delicious but not sufficient enough. Their Peach Bellini, although fantastic but for almost $9, could've had more booze in it. Even though our meals initially looked small, we were quite satisfied when we finished. Beertown is a really interesting place to visit, we were not expecting such a unique place in both the atmosphere and the meal options. It was a rather expensive date night for us but during our meal we could only talk about how great it would be to bring a group of our friends here. It’s embarrassing to say that we visited a place named Beertown and didn’t try any of their beers but now we have some time to research some of the options available for next time. This was a great time with some really special food and drink options, definitely a cool place for young people that we recommend highly. Price Range: $5.99-$16.49 Atmosphere: 8.5 Menu Selection: 7 Service: 8 Food Quality: 8 Overall Experience: 8 -Quick-RR

Beertown is a trendy comfortable place to go with a small group. The food has always been tasty with average size portions. The selection of Beer is fantastic but is to be expected given the name. Many beers on tap including some of our favourite imports. We usually frequent once a month and are rarely disappointed.

Good atmosphere. Great selection of beer. Food is very good but a bit expensive. Service is poor, well mostly slow. The servers are generally friendly and decent, it takes for ever to get a beer or a refill on other drinks.

Hamburger. Use to be my favourite place for a Burger, the Blue with Onion Rings on Top, and if I ever felt like a burger this is where I would come. Tonight very different, the burger has been changed, the meat tastes different and no Onion Rings just a lot of lettuce falling out all over the place. So I guess I will have to find a new Place when I get the burger yen.

Beertown public house was impressive. My girlfriend & I went for lunch and had the salmon. It was wonderful! I will certainly go back.

Had the Ultimate Mac and Cheese last night and while the service was bit slow the food more than made up for it!! Delicious!!!

Travel a lot in Ontario so always looking for new places. Great bar with knowledgable staff. Had the pad Thai with shrimp and it was delicious. Will definitely be back!!

Regulars. My boyfriend and I love this place! Great food, great service and nice atmosphere. The wonton nachos are amazing! Only complaint is that they don't turn the audio on for the leafs games!

The good- My wife and I shared the Pretzel board , fish tacos and Tuscan chicken they were great

The bad- kids burger was disgusting. I'm not being picky it was really bad and the kids were served last in a group of 9. Also when desert was ordered 4 adults had time to finish theirs before the kids SCOOP of ice creame came out.

FEED THE KIDS FIRST PEOPLE

Mediocre. Went there last night for dinner. Service was excellent, they were very attentive to us and friendly.

Food however was not good at all. Ordered a burger with their fries. It was very dry and not overly good. Fries were soggy and not crispy at all. We also ordered their turkey salad, which although it had lots of toppings, the dressing on it was very bland and lacking in flavour.

Given the amount of draft taps they had, the selection was disappointing. You can tell that the draft list was catered to thoes who want easy drinking beers. For a craft beer bar with that many taps, I was expecting a better selection of quality craft beer. They also charged $4.95 for a half pint which was ridiculous. Had we known it was that much, we would have just ordered the full pint for $2 more.

Definitely won't be going back there.

Stay Away. Made my first trip to beer town in Cambridge and wish I hadn't gone. The service was poor and the food was horrible. I ordered a burger and for $14 it was small and dried out. the fries were soggy and cold. It's best to stay away from this dump until they actually hire a cook!

Beer town rocks!. Been twice, will return, aside from the great selection of beer(wish they had more craft beer from out of province tho') The food is exceptional, ambiance is great, and service is equally stellar.

Fantastic food and excellent service! We will DEFINITELY be back! We had the fish tacos to start, which were amazing. Our entrees were the schnitzel and the quarter roasted chicken and we were so amazed and impressed - incredible flavor - so quick, too! My husband said it's the best schnitzel he's ever had. Huge portions, amazing value for the money and a very impressive beer collection if that's your thing. Wait staff, bartender and the manager are so knowledgeable and passionate about everything! One of my favorite restaurants - can't wait to go back!

Absolutely wish we could move to Cambridge. We visited Cambridge Aug of 2012 and saw the name " Beertown", and because I'm a connoisseur, my wife and I had to check it out for lunch. We had the burgers and beer and tit was fantastic!!!
That evening, my brother and his wife drove up from Niagara-On-The-Lake to join us for dinner. We had the steak dinner, and what do you know? It was fantastic!
The beer selection was great. Too bad they do not have a chain in Alberta. We are considering moving back to Ontario just to be near to this restaurant!

All we need to make that dream come true is to find employment in Ont. and you'll see us there OFTEN!!!

And we agree with Karima Kassam, that brownie was out of this world!
Karima Kassam
Deeeeelish!!!. It's certainly the place to be on a Saturday night! It was packed with friendly people and friendly staff. They went above and beyond to make sure we were treated very well. The service was exceptional!
Although I didn't have any beer (designated driver), my friends had tons of varieties of very unique beers to choose from and I'm sure they would have tried eveyone of them if their stomach could handle it. Just another reason to go back.
One of my girlfriends and I shared the Avocado Tomato Bruschetta. The tomatoes were fresh, the bread tasted like it was just freshly baked, the onions were carmalized to perfection and it didn't fall apart when I ate it!
Then our waitress surprised us with a complimentary Beertown Brownie, as we agreed to move tables. OMgosh! It was a treat to my pallate! It was moist, warm and not too rich. The drizzled chocolate and the added strawberry with whip cream made for a eye catching presentation. It's made my top ten dessert list...who would have thought this simple dessert could be sooooo incredibly tasty.
All in all the food was deeeelish, the service was absolutely incredible! Thank you the waitstaff and the manager Irene for making us feel so special at your establishment!

Violated. Went to this location as a table of 4 for a milestone birthday party and was extremely disappointed. The staff were more interested in their plans for the evening than serving our table...slow service, unknowlegable staff, every food item was missing a component... $200 later, won't be back.

Awful experience. Food was terrible, service was just as bad. However, the beef dip is a glorified grilled cheese that you will end up paying 15.00 for. So if you are going to beer town, go for the beer because the food is a dissapointment, and a scam.

I think I'm pretty close to having my name engraved in the floor of this place. Great food for a sports bar. Avoid the specials and order from the menu. Exceptional, friendly service. It's obvious that Beertown wants to be a success.

Had the medium wings, and the sweet & light paddle. Loved both! Fruli Belgian White Strawberry beer was my favorite off the paddle.. Smells and tastes like delicious strawberries!

Not worth the cost. Interior is nice but servings are way to small for the cost. I left hungry plus I didn't like what they did to all the soccer fans last year during the euro. When you have a name like Beertown and serve 30 types of beer on tap with a wrap around bar and more tv's than I can count you would think they would be more than happy to have soccer patrons there giving them business. Caesar salad was good though. Not good when I give the interior furnishings better ratings than the food.

I love the selection of beer but the service is horrible. Every time I go there I feel like I am waiting 10-15 mins for a new drink .. Supposed to be upscale service bar but I don't think it's even close. I tried ordering food and my waitress just walked away. Food is okay but not worth it for the service that comes with it !

Waste of money. Cambridge beer town was a waste of money. Both my husband and i ordered steak. Mine wasn't ediable as it was all fat and couldn't eben be cut, potaoes were cold and there was no vegetables. I complained to the waiter and they still charged me for it. Sent an email to the manager explaining our terrible experience and he promised to correct it and promised he would send something in the mail to come back and give them a second chance. He never bothered to follow through. Don't waste your time or money going to beertown.

Great Experience. I was in a party of 3 on a Sunday at 5:00pm. We were greeted by a pretty young lady in a smart looking dress uniform. Nice atmosphere. The waitress was pleasant, efficient and knew the menu. We didn't have any "drinks" as we were leaving for the airport. My niece ordered some app. that she really enjoyed. My daughter was in the mood for poutine, which was made with homemade fries. I had the Pad Thai Shrimp,"delicious"!! We will be back.
Lauraine

Great vibe. Love the beer selection! Great lunch menu!

Good food. Really enjoyed lunch here with my wife. As with any of the Charcoal group of restaurants, the service is exceptional!
The burger was juicey, home cut fries were great, and the sample paddles are a fantastic idea!
I wish they could have got a bit more creative with the naming of the place, Beertown is a tough sell to straight edge salesmen, and would look bad on an expense report. lol
Kirsten
Charcoal group winner. Another place from the Charcoal Group. Another winner IMHO. Good food, priced for value, courteous service and a nice, clean environment. A special request was provided without any hesitation.

Really good food, and tons to drink. Although its decently priced, nothing to crazy but your bill could get really big really fast

Wow. Talk about flavour! The pecan crust, the creamy brie coupled with the macerated fruits.

We slid through the front door just before 1pm to a packed house. Initial impressions indicated the place has quickly become a local fan favourite. The restaurant is a fusion of a retro public house and a modern beer bar, built around a ‘chef driven’ kitchen. We were seated at a huge U-booth at the far end of the restaurant which allowed us to gaze over all of the happy diners sippin on suds and munchin on lunchin. The decor is top drawer featuring keg chandeliers and a slide away vintage ladder for staffers to grab ice cold beer bottles. Beer Town is a utopia for beer lovers with 30 varieties on draft and over 90 offerings by the bottle. A perfect place to sample something new. The kitchen does a great job at offering a menu which showcases local flavo

The old Kelsey's on Hespeler Road has been reincarnated into one of the Charcoal Group's new ventures, Beertown . It is described on their website as a fusion of retro public house and modern beer bar built around a 'chef driven' kitchen. I would agree.
