We came here for lunch yesterday and decided to do the dim sum instead of their lunch buffet. They have a large list of dim sum items. We tried the shrimp and corn dumpling (delicious where the corn compliments the shrimp dumpling with sweetness), bean curd with soup (meat filling was not too fatty), curry cuttlefish (this was average), rice crepe with beef tendon (very delicious with good cuts of meat and mushrooms), and sticky rice with abalone (lean meat and good filling but a little too much rice). The prices are around $6 per dish but I was surprised by the quality as these were better than the buffet items. I would recommend giving this place a try.
Had a craving for Chinese and this place is close to the Costco where I was shopping. Lunch buffet was busy- mostly asians, so that's a good sign. They have buffet tables and a dim sum table. Got there at 11am, so the food was fresh. All the stations were properly labeled. I enjoyed the various noodle dishes, the fried rice, the spicy chicken and the beef curry. Unfortunately, the ginger beef was disappointing and the French fries were undercooked. There was sushi, but I was too full to try any. Several ice cream options, but not much else for dessert. A variety of fresh fruit would have hit the spot. At $15.99, it seems a little expensive, but might be well worth it if you can eat at least 3 or 4 plates. Pop is only $2.50 and they offer free refills.
This spot has seem a number of resturant. Eastern Treasures is updated chinese resturant. It has some nice touches ie chandelier in the dining room... clean bathrooms albeit no change table. A few wierd additions ie mounted tv... some guys asked gor the sports channel. The buffett is $16... has dim sum in the line up with regular chinese dishes ... few sushi pieces fruit .. jello.. chinese jello and a range of ice cream flavors
All I can say is that the value is well worth the price. I usually go to Forbidden City, or Central Grand, but this place has earned a new spot in my heart. The food is GOOD. The steamed buns are nice as the filling and the bun tastes good. Service is prompt and friendly. Environment is great! Food comes hot and steaming (as it should). I will definitely be returning soon. I highly recommend this place if you enjoy Forbidden City and Central Grand.
- 0.5 for having no tofu in sugar cane syrup. ;-D
(Also because the sticky rice in lotus leaf was only lightly seasoned.)
Had a family dinner here and food wasn't too bad. It's not the best in Calgary or even top 10 chinese foods. But if you are looking something close to the NE that can fit large groups. This place might suit you. I forgot to take a few pictures but there is no flavour for the hot and sour soup. Don't order it! The lobster in cream is pretty good 4/5. Parking duck 3/5 the veggies seem to be good 4/5.
This is my most favorite Chinese restaurant. The new renovation is so gorgeous. The food and service always make me feel satisfied! I strongly recommend this restaurant to you!
This is one of the better Chinese restaurants in the NE area. We went on a Saturday evening at 5:30 and the restaurant was busy so reservations are recommended. You have a choice of the dinner buffet or ordering off the menu. I was with family and we decided on the Peking duck 3 course that came with the duck, soup and fried rice, a snow pea shoot dish and the eggplant clay pot. The duck was moist and juicy and presented nicely. We did order extra wraps which was $5 extra. The veggies were flavourful and fresh and we loved the salted fish in the eggplant dish. The service was also good and prices are reasonable.
I took my friend here for the lunch buffet for her birthday. Everything was surprisingly delicious! The salt and pepper squid was tasty and tender the way it should be. The basa fillets were cooked to perfection. Very nice bonus to have dim sum items and sushi items included with the buffet. We were both very impressed that buffet food was so delicious!
This is my second time coming here. I came for the dimsum and it proved to be worthwhile. The selection was stronger than most place I've been to locally thus far, and the food came out fast and fresh. We ordered fifteen dishes, yes fifteen, and as per usual when eating Chinese, take home is inevitable.
The location itself is very well renovated inside with a clean atmosphere and well lit environment. The outside isn't very pretty with the huge "Buffet" sign but it didn't impact negatively our eating experience. It does make this place hard to miss for the community.
This location appeased the two pinnacles of a good dimsum spot, fast service, and fresh food.
Water Chestnut Cake: fluffy, and delightful. Not too sweet, and the water chestnut crunch was awesome.
Pork Dumpling : can't go wrong here.
Steamed Chicken Feet: though I didn't try any of it, the others at our table devoured this quickly.
Spareribs: delicious.
Sticky Rice on Leaf : well, this is always a heavy item, but taking it home for round 2 always works.
Taro Pastry: a little on the thick side, couldn't take more than half of one piece.
Egg Yolk Bun: also a take home item for when you get hungry on round 2.
who am i kidding, there was a lot of items.....
Overall, this place rates high on this visit for me.
Great selection and friendly service. I like that they offer dim sum on the Buffett. Food is average but good for western style Chinese. Staff was prompt with taking plates and monitoring the Buffett.
What a pleasant surprise this was! Finally found a place that serves decent Chinese dishes for dinner.
The servers are helpful as well and don't mind to help. The lady owner was friendly and delegates work when you get her attention. I will definitely be back!
I usually come here for lunch with my excoworker for a gathering, as its central to where we work. I have only had their lunch buffets which includes: fried rice, noodles, veggies, fried goods, dim sum, congee, sushi and desserts. They do offer a variety of food and they are not bad. Its a great place for lunch if you want to have different options. They do get really busy for lunch, but we usually make reservations. The service can be abit slow as they don't have a lot of servers to the number of tables.
Amaaazing Buffet!. Me and my family have been there a couple of times and have
enjoyed it quite well. The waiters are prompt and friendly and
the food does not disappoint. Great Selection and something
for everyone!
Will for sure be going back.
Good cuisine, moderate buffet. I used to know this place as Singapore Sam's, but Eastern Treasures is still a good go-to. Cuisine is very tasty and family likes to come here. Peking duck is really good.
Our Favorite!. Extremely enjoyable! We have been long time customers of Eastern Treasures since its opening and we continue to enjoy going there with every chance that we can get! Great selection of incredible food for even the most picky of eaters, (Our Daughter).
A bit of everything else you could want depending on what your tastes are for the evening. Great Seafood, Steak, Dimsum, Soups, Desert and on and on.
We feel at home when we are there and do not hesitate to tell our friends and anyone else about this awesome restaurant that always gives us more than our moneys worth.
BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT IN TOWN. This restaurant never fails to impress. We've been coming here for almost three years for the buffet, dimsum, a-la-carte and have yet to come to a disappointing experience. The buffet is always fresh, hot and tasty and is a very reasonable price for such quality food. I especially enjoy the steak, crab legs and sashimi on weekends. My family comes here for family gatherings every weekend and it's always packed. No surprise for such great food. Always worth the money.

A great place for lunch. I have been three times in the last couple of months for lunch and found the dim sum and the buffet to be excellent!
I was partial to the steamed shanghai soup dumplings - they were excellent. there was also a great selection of noodles, rice, veg - some great Soy-Chicken and a lot of other items that looked good but I haven't tried yet. There are some western choices on the buffet and even some sushi? have not tried either yet. You can take out a small lunch sized box from the buffet for about 9.50 but you can get the large "dinner" size container for about 13.00 and save half for lunch the next day (or share between two) But the best way to enjoy is to eat in. They have lots of tables and the service was ok. nice to have a good place near work.
BEST CHINESE BUFFET IN CALGARY!. We have been going to eastern treasures for 3 years now and have always enjoyed the buffet. Fresh, clean and good service is why we keep coming back. Plus the price is very reasonable, under 20 dollars anyday all you can eat. I really recommend eating here, you will love it.
Ready to Go Again. We tried this place on the advice of a friend and we very pleased with the result. The meal started with duck and pancakes - the duck was tasty and the portion very generous. This was followed by noodles and then soup with tofu and duck. Next came the Steamed Crab with Glutinous Rice in Lotus Leaves and finally the steamed snow pea leaves. The crab and rice was very nice, definitely will order it again! The veggies were fresh too. We're heading back next week to try Dim Sum.
Dim sum buffet was average, no wow factor. I enjoy eating dinner here more, the Peking duck special is good. Bubble tea is well made here too, very slushy and flavorful.
Visited on a Sunday evening. Lots if choices on the buffet. They even had some Dim Sum choices. Food was pretty good. Love the kids prices! 2.99 for kids under 6 and 6.99 for kids 6-12. Food was pretty good. Lots of variety. Very good service.
This place is awesome not your normal dried out buffet food is soft, hot and moist. Ice cream is amazing too! Best buffet I have ever been to"
Ok dim sum, but update your website !. Decided to head up here for dim sum with my folks for dim sum, so away we went on Sat. morning, just shy of 11 am (their website indicates they open at 11 am on Sat). To our surprise, they were open and from all indications, opened for a while as the buffet as already stocked with food and there were customers eating already - Dear Eastern Treasures, update your website !
Once inside, you're greeted by the bbq station then if you mosey on forward that is the restaurant portion. We were greeted and seated promptly.
We didn't go for the buffet, but ordered off the menu dim sum. Food service was quick, and the food was served hot.
hai gow - big, bursting with plump shrimp and good shrimp flavour
gailan with oyster sauce - cooked well, it still retained its crunch and somewhat vibrant green colour, they could've used a tad more oyster sauce and cut the veggies down into more manageable bite sizes.
chicken feet - a tad salty but good flavour, however it wasn't fall off the bone, it was rather tough. On the plus side, at least you know it wasn't left overs.
tripe - chewy, and a tad tough. I like black pepper as a seasoning, so I didn't mind this dish but just a fyi, it was loaded with tonnes of black pepper.
pork/minced dried shrimp deep fried dumpling - served piping hot, I enjoyed the exterior deep fried layer, the soft chewy pastry was next, then finally the meat/minced dried shrimp mixture. Good !
shrimp rice crepe - this place has one of the yummy rice crepes I've had. However, they were cheap with the shrimp.
sticky rice sui ma - never seen this served elsewhere, they take the usual sticky rice in a bowl and did it up sui ma style.
Service was ok, our tea was refilled without asking or without us having to remove the lid - indicating tea service. However, I got the impression our waiter was stronger in mandarin, so communication wise it presented its challenges.
As time progressed closer to noon, the restaurant was filling up, especially since half of the place was taken up by a birthday party.
Overall, if we're in the neighbourhood I'll be back.
One last note, to the jerk douchebag in the white ford f-150 who to had to squeeze into a handicapped spot - note : owner of this f-150 did not have a handicap placard - (one we parked at, since my mom does require the use of the space), there were spaces aplenty, you did not have to squeeze your hillbilly pickup into a handicapped spot.
Calamari yummy!. Great calamari when it's fresh. Service is ok. Food is ok. All around just ok!
Love this place. This is a really good restaurant. There is plenty of variety and lots to choose from! Seriously you just want to try everything! Service is good also. (:
This place is a hole is a wall, but it is simply amazing. The food is fresh, and really good. And there is a huge variety to choose from. I would definitely recommend it.
Decent food and friendly stuff, will revisit soon.
Good Chinese buffet for $12. Food is good, not the best. If you consider $12 all you can eat buffet, it's probably the best $12 Chinese buffet in Northwest Calgary. So it's worth to check it out.
I like many stir fried items especial fish dish. Dim sum is fair for the price of buffet.
