Came here for the first time and enjoyed a delicious lunch! Started with the appetizer platter which consisted of deep fried shrimp, spring rolls and salad rolls. For mains we ordered sate beef and sate seafood pho - so good! The sate is super tasty and spicy, not oily or thick. One of best pho sate flavors I’ve had. The owner’s mom makes the sate herself! A really good serving of noodles in the pho considering there is only one size on the menu. Generous portion of meat/seafood, and the beef isn’t stringy or fatty. Definitely will come again when in the area.
I love this place. Great beef salad rolls! Great pho satay! Come after working hours and you're guaranteed a table immediately. Will definitely come back.
It's hard for me to eat out being a pescatarian and being lactose intolerant. So eating Vietnamese food works best for me. You can never go wrong with pho.
I got the Sate Seafood Pho, they had ran out of bean sprouts which was a downer for me but again not a deal breaker. There was no variance in size, so I knew it was going to be large. The Sate was the peanut based, not my favourite. However flavourful... The lack of actual seafood was disappointing. I was impressed that there was not a lot of noodles as I find most pho places over due it with the noodles to compensate for lack of meat or whatever else you have ordered.
The vegetarian spring rolls were not that crispy and the inside mushy. Would not order this again.
The waiter although nice, was a bit slower given there was only 2 tables I'm the restaurant.
I have dined here a couple of times. I don't mind it. Not my favourite, however I wpuldntmind meeting friends hereif they chose it.
Decent pho and rolls (salad are quite big). The beef in my saté was a little sparse but the broth was tasty and the right amount of heat. The service could be faster but at lunch when they are busy it is acceptable
This is one of my fav viet places to eat. It's a block from my work so I come here often with coworkers for lunch. On the corner of Macleod tr and 11th ave Se, they get a lot of foot traffic from neighboring offices. Recommend going there before noon because it is usally pack by then. They also do takeout if you want to just bring it back to the office. Their service is quick so when you have only an hour for lunch this is the ideal place to go. One of my favourite is #73 satay beef with spring roll fried rice. I have not seen this dish at any other vietnamese restaurants, so when I'm craving it I will come here just to order it. #16 add spicy sate broth is my 2nd choice. If you don't like spicy it originally comes with regular beef broth. It has all the fixings in a pho, sliced beef, beef balls, tripe and tendon. If you are in this area, you should try this place out!
I had Pork and Shrimp Salad rolls. Amazing! I also had the Wor Wonton Soup. It was almost too much for one meal. Great little place, nice attitude. Friendly waitress. We had a small language barrier. But everything worked out in the end. Fast service, medium priced. Great place to eat if you are at the Stampede grounds, short walking distance. AAA. One of the few places. I would drive from Medicine Hat just to eat here, again.
I work downtown and go here for lunch, everything I have tried so far has been really good. Good spring rolls and curry vermicelli! Satay beef fried rice is really good too and the pho. More pricey pho than other places but still good food. I would recommend it
Food was tasty. Interesting how there are alot of not so great past reviews. I finally checked out this place after passing by it so many times. Ordered sweet/sour soup and a broken rice plate. The taste from both meals lovely. I found the soup broth very flavorful. The broken plate meal with the shrimp and beef was delicious and cooked just right. All so flavorful and really hit the spot. Liked the inside alot. Great heritage looking building it's in too. Love the different selections to choose from. Look forward to trying more meals out and will go back again.
Vegan Pho!. New favourite soup haunt... really nice vegetable/tofu rice noodle soup with a vegan broth option. The broccoli has a nice sesame / nutty flavour.
Quick service and pleasant staff :)
I've been coming back to Lotus for years. Their pho is hands down the best in Calgary, everywhere else just seems to lack any sort of distinguishing element. The veggie spring rolls have yet to be beat by any other Vietnamese restaurant. I will keep coming back for the excellent food over and over again.
Best pho in town. By far the best pho I've ever had.
One of our faves. We try Vietnamese around the city, but always come back to the Lotus, particularly for the satay beef and saffron rice. Easy location, close to DT and the Stampede grounds. Love the vermicelli rice with chicken satay and spring rolls. Owner never has friendly face, but think that's her nature. Other servers are friendly and efficient. Been for lunch and dinner. Never had to wait long for table or food. I think we've been there at least 1-2 times/month for years now. Always consistent, always good.
Really enjoyed this find. F.... Really enjoyed this find.
Followed the reviews on Urbanspoon to find something different than burgers when at Stampede.
They accommodated our giant stroller and were very nice.
The dinner for 2 easily fed 2 adults and 2 kids, probably because they doubled our won ton soup and desserts for free.
Import beer prices were awesome and domestic were on sale.
This was an awesome dinner
