Always a go to place for a late night snack. Sits about 70 people and food is flavorful. Service is personal and usually quite busy. I enjoy the Peking Duck and Tofu Pot.
A group of us ordered take out from here to share amongst ourselves. The restaurant is clean and welcoming, and the staff is friendly and efficient. We ordered house special crispy thin noodles, pork dumplings, Shanghai noodles, beef and broccoli, ginger beef, salt and pepper squid, and spring rolls.
The time estimate they gave me for pick up was spot on, so the food was still hot once it arrived back at my destination, and they were able to provide me disposable plates. Everything was fresh and tasty. Some Chinese food places seem to have food that all tastes the same, but that isn't so for Emerald Palace, and our food had a variety of flavours and textures.
I'm glad that Emerald Palace is close by, because I'll definitely be back again!
Love this place for Peking Duck. Have been here a few times and it's usually very busy so get reservations. All the sides I had have been fantastic too.
Good food and good service. The people that run this restaurant appear to be Chinese (Cantonese) from Vietnam, as evidenced by the Vietnamese (in addition to Chinese and English) on the menu, and, more interestingly, subtle touches such as Maggi sauce in some of the dishes, and sweetened condensed milk in the mung bean/sago dessert.
We usually go here as a family because the food is so tasty! They have really good whole
chickens and the dishes are prepared flavourful and it tastes authentically Chinese. When the restaurant fills up (which is usually does), we order takeout and the food is just as fresh!
Great late night Chinese food location. The service is always good and attentive which is rare for a Chinese restaurant. The food is very good and always consistent. It is also not that oily vs other restaurants.
As a Chinese girl, I love the Chinese food here. The restaurant is kinda small compared to other Chinese restaurant. But the service is awesome, the food is delicious with reasonable price. One of my favorite dish is the Pig Neck meat with white bun. It is a special order from the chef. And their Chinese Style chicken is pretty good too.
Good Food. Ate there twice on the weekend. We went there on Saturday and dined in. Unlike other reviews, we had great service. The waiter was very attentive and even joked around with us. Very casual place with lots of Chinese customers, so you know the place is legit. They have 2 menus, a Cantonese and a Peking menu (some items are listed on both menus). Chances are if you're Caucasian, they'll give you the Peking menu. That's the one with stuff like ginger beef and sweet and sour chicken. On Sunday, we got take-out from them and ordered mostly off the Peking menu, we ordered off the Cantonese menu the day before. I'm not usually a big fan of sweet and sour chicken, but theirs was very good, with just a little hint of spice. Portions were pretty big and prices were slightly less than what you find in Chinatown.
When I order Chinese food, I always order here. The food is really good and the pricing is alright. Haven't ate in the restaurant yet. I Always do takeout.
If your are craving for it. If you crave fro Chinese food and it is late, this is the best place. Food is consistently good. Greasy but good. Price reasonable. You know it is a good Chinese place when a lot of Chinese people are eating.
Decent. We've been there once. The food wasn't bad. Nothing to complain about but it just wasn't overly exciting. A little more authentic than some Chinese places in town.
Delivery from here is good, sat in the restaurant only a few times felt pretty unwelcome
Not bad... I like the fact they are open late, quick with food, never been disappointed I have eaten inside and took out several times
Overall, I’d say the food was average. There are many other better options for Chinese in the city. The service was as good as you’d get from any other Chinese restaurant which means not overly attentive but you can always flag someone down to ask them for water or anything else you may need. The restaurant is busy though, very popular with the neighborhood crowd and I don’t think you’d be able to get in without a reservation.
