Love this place. Really delicous subs and pho, and I really enjoyed the deep fried pork dumplings. Quick service, good sized portions. Will keep coming back for sure.
I don't think anyone usually has high expectations for pho, it's considered Vietnamese fast food. But this place exceeds over all others. Clean, great service, great prices, and consistency makes this pho restaurant the best in Kensington, if not all of Calgary. I dare even say this place is even better than most pho restaurants in Vancouver. Trust me, I've eaten more pho than most have eaten ANY food, LOL.
I've been going to Song Han for a couple of years now and I find the service is always prompt. The menu is extensive and offers a variety of choice for those who have dietary restrictions. I would definitely recommend it to any of my friends.
Checked this place out today. Ordered basics. Deep fried spring rolls, pork and shrimp salad rolls, beef sate soup. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Will go again.
The lunch special is a great deal! Rice vermicelli with salad roll combo is great. Cheap and huge portion!!! I would definitely go again if I wanna have a quick lunch in Kensington area.
Best vegan pho in the city. Absolutely love this place. So friendly and in a convenient location. Great place to come on a cold day n grab a bowl of steaming hot soup.
First time Pho eater. Was super happy with my first Pho experience. The staff was friendly and helpful and our to go order came out swiftly. I loved how fresh the ingredients were and that the portions were huge. We received a giant fistful of green, fragrant basil, which is one of the best parts and a good selection of sauces. I had no idea what these sauces were, but they were delish! Great place to get steamy hot Pho on a cold Calgary night. I'm sure this will become a weekly ritual in our house. Yum!
Good food, bad service probably due to language issue.
Awesome vegan pho. Went here with my omni boyfriend and was pleasantly surprised at how good the pho was! I was able to eat a yummy vegan pho and my bf had the chicken noodle soup.
It was fast, hot and extra filling. The decor was a little off and the music wasn't great, but for a quick bite it was delicious!
I will definitely be back.. Esp as there isn't many places in yyc that offer vegan pho!
After a wonderful first visit, my second visit has confirmed some of the previously stated complaints of slow service. However, the food remains delicious, portions on the large side and the prices are reasonable. I've been a regular at Taste Of Ginger on 10 st. In Kensington. But Song Han is a superior restaurant. Taste Of Ginger won't be seeing much of me in the future...
Best soup in the city hands down, don't listen to the downers here! OK, so the service is a little lax sometimes but I've found the owners to be quite friendly. I've tried many pho restaurants in calgary and this one has me coming back again and again. Why? Because they make the best beef and vegetable broth I've ever tried, its tasty, not too salty and comes with a generous compliment of vegetables and beef. Haters can keep their watered down, tasteless soup, Ill have Song Han.
Huge portions, fast and friendly service, great location. Easily my favourite Vietnamese place.
Uniquely Vietnamese. My husband and I have been frequent customers of Song Han since October 2011. Sometimes we take out and some times we dine-in. The menu is grand, affordable, and suits every palate. Since we live in the neighbourhood, we have hosted many friends and they have loved it too. There is a convenient car-park nearby.

Pho and Bun sooo good! Will come back and will recommend to friends!
Vermicelli Rice Bowls mmmmmmmm. Let's face it -all Vietnamese food tastes the same. There is no creativity taking place in this genre of food. With that said Song Han tastes the same as everywhere else so it is fine by me.
Great Thai. Will be back.
Love this place ! I come here for 29beef satay soup + veggies almost 4 days /week. it's a neighbourhood favourite in the heart of Kensington . Not really too busy so I'm always welcomed with my viet possse . Love the staff
I find myself coming back to this place more and more the food is so fresh , and the Pho is dynamite i pride myself on being a Vietnamese enthusiast and Song Han its the spot ! The veggie spring rolls and shrimp dumplings rock . The music is great the staff is nice ! Booh yah !
Again, like!. Good food, good music, good location, awesome pirce, the staff is different than most vietnamese rest, but soo nice! food can be slow, but worth the wait, family owned and family run! love!
Delicious!. I have been to Song Han numerous times and have never left unsatisfied. Great food, good portions, awesome veggie spring rolls, amazing satay, good service, this place has it all! Definitely my favorite Vietnamese in the city!
Best vietnamise in the city. Great bowls and soups. Service is great and food is fast and fresh.
Love that #47!. ...I just keep coming back to this place! It's starting to get out of hand. Their beef satay is absolutely delicious and has a good kick. I have never had any issues with the meat, as I sometimes do at less expensive reataurants - never any fatty or grisselly or stringy bits. Their spring rolls are FABULOUS. When I ordered a glass of wine, it was filled to the brim, so definitely good value there.
Great location to enjoy Vietnamese on a relaxed afternoon.. The service at Song Han may not be swift for a vietnamese restaurant, yet that doesn't stop me from coming back.
If you're in a rush, this may not be your most suitable lunch destination. Rather this is a great location to enjoy some Vietnamese at a leisurely pace with a friend. The sunken patio let's you soak up some sun while still enjoying the Kensington atmosphere.
Free parking at rear is a plus in this neighbourhood.
Best Vietnames in City. Currently, this place has the best Vietnamese in the city. The food is the freshest and easily the best. Second best right now would be the Golden Bell on 17 Ave... speaking from eating a ton of Vietnamese!
Fresh, great vegetarian fare. I'm hooked.
The vegetables have always tasted fresh and properly cooked. The vegetarian curry is spicy and nuanced enough to want to eat the whole saucy thing. I can't go there without getting the veggie spring rolls, which are, again, fresh and flavourful. Quickly becoming my favourite lunch spot in the neighbourhood.
Overall, we left satisfied, and what more am I expecting at this point? Just be happy and go – so I did! At least I got my belly filled and didn’t have to go home and pull out my apron on Boxing day! I honestly will say I probably won’t be back as it’s in Kensington – there’s so many other great things to try, and I’d rather do that. I’m not saying the food was bad by any means, I just like to try new things!

Charlie Chan's which served mainly Westernized Chinese food in Kensington closed this summer. I ate there a few times when I was in the mood for sweet and sour pork but the chopsticky font of its sign always bothered me. In its place, Song Han opened in
