First time coming to this neighborhood pub! I'm glad I did because I was pretty impressed with the food. I got the beat salad and it was a pretty generous portion and the honey glaze they use is really flavorful. I would have liked a little more goat cheese but overall well done. My friend ordered the pizza and enjoyed it. The sauce stood out. A tad pricey for the kind of establishment but not overly - just my opinion as its comparable to Earls. Service was on par. Friendly waitresses. I'd try it out again.
I went to the Windsor rose a the other day for the first time. After hearing some bad reviews I was a bit skeptical. I have to say I was more than impressed. The staff was very friendly and the general manger rich was wonderful. I have to say the bartender Billy is what makes the place. He was friendly, attentive and made the best chambord royal I have ever had. Not once was my drink empty. He made sure that the bar was very tidy, he was always wiping up after everyone. I will definitely be coming back and bringing my friends. Good jobs guys:
I've popped in a few times since the change in owners and Managment. What a complete 180. You can tell it is Restaurateurs that took over who actually care about great service, real quality food and customer focused experience. The change in the menu is the biggest change. It's pub grub but nothing is frozen or out of a bag anymore. Fresh and delicious. The revamped pizza recipe is awesome, the calamari was probably the most tender squid I've ever had. The wings are big and so tasty. You can even tell with the staff they are actually enjoying work! A couple girls mentioned how much busier it is lately. I've had great service everytime. The girls are prompt, friendly and genuine. The general manager was cruising around making sure everyone was happy. Seemed like a number of patrons knew him by name. I think good things are ahead with this change. Can't wait to check out the rooftop patio this summer.
This is a comfortable pub with some outdoor seating for those sunny spring and summer days. The deal here is 11 items for $11.00 at 11:00. Beer prices are typical. They didn't mention any specials. I had an open-faced turkey and my friend had a beef dip. Both were reasonable. My soup - a corn chowder I believe, was good. I've had better and worse. We had no problems with service on this occasion. So overall it stays on the list for places to go. If all I want is a burger its a reasonable place. Don't get your hopes up though based on the Gastropub name. In south Calgary that basically signifies indifferent food based on this and Tommyfield's. If I want real food, there's a place in Silverado that has this one beat out of the starting gate.
This place tends to be a hit or miss. Thankfully more hit than miss so I continue to come back. The food menu is decent and the quality of the food is good. The butter chicken is always fantastic. The drink menu is extensive and has some interesting selections. I have run into the problem of them being out of my selected drink a couple times. The rooftop is an awesome place to sit and have a refreshing beer on a warm day. There is lots of seating and televisions inside and is a great place to watch "the game".
Was lazy last night so went here again. Was presently surprised the food is getting better. got to say the Namesake burger was great. The Bun was so good. The kids liked the butter chicken and pasta. The garlic toast needed more garlic the baguette was good just more garlic
Normally I Ike the food here. I stopped in on Tuesday, June 25th. For a lunch meeting. I ordered the fish and chips, I can't say it was any good, a little on the greasy side. I will continue to try different options here.
Great food, great beer, I would recommend Liz as your server as she is amazing! Beautiful patio! I will be returning

Cozy Gastro Pub. I've been to the Windsor Rose several times and have at all times enjoyed my food and service. That's why I keep going back.
There is a wide range of food on the menu and on Sundays you can bring the kids for brunch.
Hopefully soon, this review will be replaced by a blog spot but I keep on forgetting to take pictures every time I go.
Amazing food!. The food here is fantastic. I have never had anything that wasnt good. Butter chicken is amazing, burgers and calzones are HUGE! Service is decent. Waitresses know the menu and are pretty efficient for the most part.
Nice and clean.
Where do bad reviews on food come from? Breakfast hideout!. Maybe i'm in an alternate universe but every time I've been there (dozens) the food has been great and I get good service. I'm wondering if some of these "bad" food comments come from the competition. But then again I also tip well. The big surprise was the fantastic breakfast on a Saturday.
I've been to almost every niche spot like the Belmont and I got the same high quality without the hour long line up outside. If they add crabcake benedict to the menu I'm there every weekend.
Finally a cozy place to hang out!!!. I live in Heritage Pointe and have been looking for a casual cozy place to take the family and friends out for a long time that is close by. Although I cannot take the kids there until Sunday or weekdays during the day, it has been more then helpful when feeding the kids. Breakfast is honestly a wonderful value for the money, considering if you go to the typical chain restaurant, and get so-so food for the same price. Although the Windsor has a limited breakfast menu, I appreciate that it is quality rather than slapped on a plate. My kids truly love the food and eat it for once.
I did however, have the privilage of going out "sans kids' for the night with friends and thoroughly enjoyed their pizza. Wonderful homemade crust, and I just found out they make their own buns for burgers and such. A little fresh for my burger (but the taste won over). My favorite dishes have been the Thai Curry and Butter chicken. Very Authentic tasting. My server Sueling was fantastic. I have to admit I have had a few bad servers there, although friendly ....they need a little work. I do recommend Sueling for sure. And no disrespect to the reviewer prior to me.... but a genuine sausage or pepperoni does have a casing on it. Trust me. I am italian. If you do not a have casing on your sausage.... then its fake,. That is how cured meat is made!!!!!Its always in a casing. Im just saying.
Lousy name, great inside though!. I frequent the Rose, but as it was being built, I had no idea what kind of business it was going to be. The name is lousy. I am not british, had to google windsor to figure out the relevance. I first read the name, and imagined a Chinese smorgasbord run by a family of East coast migrators. If it was called the Rose and doorstop, it would be more appealing. Or, the Dirty Harry, or Prince Harry, heck why not Prince Albert. Great place, gorgeous inside, but no one knows about it...as the name is instantly forgettable, and awkward!
I've been here several times for the sunday brunch. The french toast is delicious. The food is consistently good. Staff is really friendly, And the service is great.
Great service, tom and trever the bartenders, were fantastic, definitely would return because of them
Good food for the most part. Ordered calamari and it was way under cooked. Nice sangria if you don't have to mix it yourself. Nice bruschetta though!
I had Ceasars, the Waldorf Salad, and the Banoffee for dessert. It was all excellent!
Great Place. This is by far one of the best pubs in Calgary. The food is exceptional (and it's a pub), the decor is charming & warm. This place was recommended by friends and they were spot on. The only thing that could be improved upon is the service, but that could be said for most places today.

March 17, 2012 A group of us went to Windsor Rose for dinner and drinks. We found the food quality excellent and service was exceptional. We were quite pleased with the variety of drinks available at very reasonable prices. We would highly recommend this warm and inviting establishment to anyone wanting an enjoyable night out. Thank you to the management and staff for creating a most enjoyable evening.
Tried this pub for the first time. Cozy atmosphere and good service with an interesting beer and wine selection. Had the tomato tart for an appetizer and mediterranean salad for my main course. Enjoyed both the tart and salad - really tasty. Will definitely return.
I enjoyed a new beer I haven't tried before, the owner suggested it. It was delicious. The pizza was really good. The server was very helpful and attentive. The pub is beautiful, I had an enjoyable experience.
A group of four went there on a Friday night. We had a great time. The food was really good and they have a great selection of beer. One of the more classy, clean, and overall nice pub I have been too. The owner even made it a point to say hello, it's wierd but he reminded me of one of our family members. We will be back for more on St. Patrick's day
Delicious!. I went for brunch last weekend and the food was great. It was pretty empty so we grabbed a spot by one of the cozy fireplaces. Service was good, coffee was a bit cold but the waitress brought back fresh warm ones right away. The decor is really nice and they have a menu with many tempting selections. I will have to come back for dinner one night and try one of their many beers!
I've been recommending this place to anyone that I know and as a bonus for our friends with kids: They allow minors until 7pm on Sundays. Good deal, to be able to have a place to go where our friends with kids can meet us kid-less friends for some pints and grub.
