I am a bit surprised the ratings for this spot aren’t higher, there is always a huge line for the soup it is beloved ! I’m a big soup broth fan, and theirs tastes great. I always get the chicken noodle soup, I love soup at lunch and don’t think many spots downtown offer good chicken soup. I love that they have a great condiment selection as well. Hey make their own chili oil which is so good, I add a bit of their vinegar to the broth to give it that extra level of depth as well as some sesame seeds. You have to ask for limes and chili oil specifically from the server, the other condiments I mentioned are self serve on the soup side. After that I go to the other side and use the chili garlic paste as well. I don’t think the broth needs the condiments but I would add that stuff at home, it just elevates it to the next level. I like the assortment of veggies and green toppings (haha just 1 carrot though). Giant portions too.
Yea the meat isn’t the best, but it’s also a restaurant in a fast food court ... so it is what I would expect from that kind of a spot.
For $8.81 (with GST), the beef brisket noodle soup was pretty good. My plastic bowl was filled with a generous heaping of slippery noodles and sprouts. The broth was piping hot, though a little too salty. The brisket was tasty and I liked the addition of daikon, carrots, and onions.
Went to the one I'm bankers hall, based on high recommendation from a coworker.
Ordered their brisket rice noodles with all the toppings. My coworker mentioned they sometimes have daikon, but I didn't get any when I went. Too bad. It was $10 for a bowl and you get a good serving that was quite filling, I must say....I actually couldn't finish box I was so full.
I would come back for their rice noodle soups for sure. Rumour is they taste a lot better during weekday lunch hours.
Only 4/5 based on inconsistency
