Politics aside - good coffee. I avoid Good Earth like the plague - not because of their service/products, but their political message is something I do not agree with; however this is Urbanspoon and reviews are based on the service and products received, not any sort of political discussion.
Based on the coffee and service that I received, I give it a whole hearted 2 thumbs up. Despite it being class change and very busy, the person who took my order still greeted me with a smile. I picked the medium roast and I've got to say, I enjoyed their coffee more than Starbucks. I especially liked the woodsy earthy tones in the coffee, despite adding in cream/sugar. It was also steaming hot, which is how I like my coffee.
Will I be back for another java boost when required at Good Earth ? You bet.
Great coffee, busy locale. This Good Earth stands up against a lot of traffic being in the new U of C library, which has floors and floors of study space. It's no surprise, though, given their delicious beans (roasted by Fratello) and the nice seating nearby.
If you can, avoid going at prime time. That is when it gets a little chaotic. There is bound to be a mishap every now and then with so much traffic, so I think that friendliness and understanding go a long way in setting things straight. A couple weeks back I ordered a Rooibos Americano, and an unclaimed Americano came up. I discussed it with the barista on shift and she concluded it as a mistake and promptly made my proper drink. Easy and quick fix.
The other day I ordered a soy latte from here and it was perfect. The "milk" was silky and the coffee deliciously integrated into the foam. If you are looking for a fix this place beats Starbucks by miles any day.
This Good Earth location is my favorite coffee place in the university. The owner is simply amazing - super nice and kind. You can tell they genuinely care about customers' satisfaction, and go the extra mile to make sure everyone has a great experience.
The staff there are real professionals, and they all share the same goal of making every experience there a great one.
They clean their equipment every day so that the coffee never tastes weird or stale. Overall, Highly recommended.

Lisa , the manager and Binoo are the best, they always welcome me, and treat me well. One day they even suggested a during and added the right syrups for it to taste better. And I have been ordering it again and again.

Beside amazing coffee and bakery, their hospitality is a top notch. Their coffee latte and marshmallow latte are my fav and I always get a hot latte before my exam ( just want something good to calm my anxiety)
Today, I had some problem wt my samsung pay and I also forgot my wallet. It took me a while to set up my card on the phone, and the owner and staff are so nice. I was little panic since I couldn't fix the problem for a while, but She said it was on the house. She smiled and was understanding. Later on, even I insisted to pay for it ( after fix my samsung wallet), she still didn't let me to do that. I never experienced anything like this on the campus before. You and your staff are just so sweet, and wonderful!!! I definitely will come back more regular for the coffee. Thank you so much!
This coffee place is the best on campus. There are always tasty drinks to be found there, as well as sweet, understanding, and patient staff. If you’re looking for a quick pick-me-up, I strongly recommend this location.

I cannot recommend another cafe/coffeehouse in or around UofC more than this good earth location. I’ve worked as a barista and I can safely say it you’re looking for a well-crafted latte and you frequently surf cafes, or you just need the occasional caffeine pick-me-up, this is the place. Extremely friendly staff and management.

This Good Earth location is my favourite, though the other location on campus offers delicious food & beverages too. I've ordered nearly everything here, from breakfast pastries to lunches and snacks too. The quality of food is consistently fresh, the owner is so kind, and everything about this coffeehouse makes my day better. The mac & cheese and lentil stew are my favourite lunchtime go-to's, and the muffins make a great snack. However, I could truly recommend anything - it's all delicious.
