Went for lunch today at china rose, pretty good selection and the food came out pretty hot at 12 noon. Almost everything was pretty good except some of the veggies tasted a bit too salty. Service was good I'll be back for the good selection.
Hands down the best Chinese food in Calgary! We drive from Airdrie to come here! The buffet is always well stocked and hot and the food is delicious! You have got to try here!
Love this restaurant! Best choice by far for Chinese food!I usually come for lunch, the food is always hot, fresh and delicious with no MSG. There are more items in the buffet than you can sample in one visit, seafood, beef, pork, chicken, veggies, soups, sushi .....There are always new selections along with my favorites like the Cantonese chow mein, shrimp in black bean sauce, lemon chicken and spring rolls. My family and I also frequent for celebratory and special occasion dinners and the evening buffet is even more impressive, love the snow crab legs.I can always count on finishing off with green tea or mango ice cream.Great staff, great value, you gotta try it!
Came here with my boyfriend for supper, the buffet was very good! Good place for Chinese, I'd say. The hot honey chicken balls were interesting.
Amazing Chinese food, lived in delivery area for a year and had it so many times! Was always fresh and hot! There noodles an beef were amazing! Love the hot and sour soup! Tasty and large chicken wings! Awesome BBQ pork and tasty friend rice!
A little unsure from the previous reviews but the food was fresh and tasty! Could have been a bit spicier but the condiments made up for it. Our server Maggie was great! Sweet and efficient. Bathrooms clean :)

With a 13.99 all-you-can eat price, with only 7.00 for 12 and under, it certainly was very affordable. We got there a bit before they opened, (12 on Sundays) so everything was fresh and piping hot when we got to it. They had y personal favourite Won Ton soup, so I was happy, and the girls loved the all-you-can eat Mango ice cream. All in all, we left very happy with full bellies, and satisfied grins.
Good Chinese food. I have been coming here for years and I have never been disappointed. The buffet is awesome, in addition the ambiance is also very nice. Their is also a lot of parking space.
The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. My family has been going to China Rose for years and we have yet to be disappointed. The buffet has always been the highlight for us. It's fresh and has great variety. I would highly recommend China Rose to anyone looking for a good Chinese restaurant.
Very nice and well decorated restaurant. Had a dinner with friends the other day. The food was tasty and fresh. Service was fast as well. A very good family run restaurant overall. Definitely worth a second visit. thumbs up!

The food here in my opinion is meh. However, I am am easy eater. My family used to order from here all the time for special occasions. That was all. In my opinion the sweet and sour pork has a lot of fat in it, which ruins the taste.
I LOVE China Rose!! The people are great, the service is consistently good and the food is delicious. It's the perfect place to go for lunch during the work week or even on the weekends as they have delicious cocktails!! And.. their cupcakes are amazing.
Food is tasty and hot. When it's Chinese food we crave, hubby and I order takeout from China Rose. If I call and order then pick up, I never have to wait more than 5-10 minutes after I get there. If I go there and order, the wait isn't any longer than 15 minutes, even on a weekend. The food is hot and tasty. I've tried to order the Gai Lan in Oyster Sauce multiple times but am always told they don't have it that day; always have to settle for Bok Choy. The Ginger Beef is marked as a Spicy dish, but "You Know I Hate Spicy!" husband doesn't shy away from it because it's not spicy. By the way, the reason we always take out from here is because the interior really needs a good cleaning. Don't look up if you're eating in the dining room: inches of dust clinging to the wiring and ducts right above your head. The chairs need a good upholstery cleaning too.

The Palace of Chinese Food. No need to explain. Quite simply one of the tastiest Chinese buffets I've had, and i've had many. QUALITY is the word, and I endorse that word. Very well prepared buffet and I do not mind a bit for the extra $. While many Chinese buffet restaurants strive to stay under $10, China Rose has proven that people will pay for what you get. Chicken balls are so thinly battered (so are the other proteins) and fried to perfection. The restaurant presents a very pleasant dining environment and experience as well. Waiters/waitresses are attentive and fast. I've visited many times and will go for many more.
Good Food - Great Service. Our Lyoness Shopping Community Network meets at this restaurant every Saturday and the service here is absolutely awesome. And the food is very good too.
I was a regular at new dynasty until I went to china rose. Their ginger beef n salt n pepper squid is so delicious and the service is top notch. It was a amazing eating experience at china rose. I would never go back to new dynasty now that I found what I consider the best Chinese buffet in calgary.
Went to china rose last night with some friends and i thought it was fantastic! Not too big and not too small of a buffet. Their food was always fresh and the best part was if something was running low they would bring out the fresh food right to our table!! Their salt n pepper squid awesome ginger beef delicious. Great service great tasting food and doing it without msg thats a bonus for us! We found our new fav buffet

Good value for Calgary. We arrived and ordered the Dinner for 2 (fried rice, chow mein,ginger beef,won ton soup,spring rolls) and received large portions.Food was overall good, for American Chinese food and the service was excellent and attentive.The buffet looked excellent also.

Since moving to Calgary, I've searched for a good Chinese buffet, and this is by far the best place that I've been too! The buffet is awesome!!! Menu selection is really good as well, I really like the dinner for one, the portions are so big and everything is delicious!!! Servers are very friendly and attentive! I go to China Rose at least twice a week and I'll never get sick of it! Looove it!!
Great Place To Go!. This place is outstanding! We go here at least three times a week. The food is superb, especially the cantonese chowmein, salt and pepper squid and chicken wings!!! The staff are very polite and friendly! They have an excellent selection of fish,seafood,vegetables, meat and chinese food all prepared in great quality. They have food for everyone.... great variety with excellent service. It is very clean and you are seated immediately as you come in the door. Fantastic for big family and corporate events as well. And great price for a restaurant as superior as this one!

Epic place and yummy !!. Finally I found a great chines restaurant that after I ate I didn't feel sick because they don't have any MSG in there foods. They always have fresh food there and their staff are very friendly and helpful. When ever I go there I felt so welcome and I like the fact that the big boss go around to different table to greet the customers, he is so wise and funny..I tried pretty much all of the food there and I like most of them. But if you go you have to try there ginger beef and deep fried calamari, so good there. Oh I most forget they also have a desert table as well :) , The price is very reasonable and the restaurant side pretty big, good for work party and they're also have a VIP room for work meeting in stuff. Oh also they have wings night and their wings are sooooo good . Gotta try it I'm sure you will like there .

One of a kind!. China Rose is one of the most unique Chinese Restaurants in Calgary. Sure, there are many buffet-style Chinese restaurants in the city of Calgary, but how many don't have MSG? I NEVER feel 'sick' after pigging out on their buffet!
The lounge is pretty comfy too.. been starting to go there lately for their wings. Not bad at all!!
If you are craving some yummy Chinese food that will NOT make you feel sick, CHINA ROSE!!
P.S. The different fusion dishes from different Asian nations is really interesting!
Awsome Chicken Wings. China Rose is one of the best place i went to, great atmosphere severs are nice. they have aswsome chicken wings. We go for wing night alot and its always great. We have had the buffet and we like it for having no msg.
Amazing. Such a beautiful Venue with an amazing staff. Buffet has a vast selection and all tastes so good. The Dinner buffet is a recommendation on my list. I was here for Chinese New Year, I've never seen entertainment like that at a restaurant before. I recomeend this to anybody.

Excellent Chinese in Calgary, one of my new favourites. First impressions, this place was clean and well kept. I went for the lunch buffet with a friend that has been here many times and swears by the food. I absolutely loved it. According to other reviews, there is a lack of selection. I don't know if it was because I went the day before Chinese New Year, but there was definitely A LOT to choose from. The lunch buffet was 12.99 per person, which is not bad at all for a Chinese buffet.
My plate alone consisted of the following: ginger beef, palace style chicken, mixed vegetables, chow mein noodles, sweet and sour pork, pork dumplings, fried rice, mushrooms in black bean sauce, shrimp in black bean sauce, chicken wings and a bowl of hot and sour soup. Besides all of those items, there were about 5 to 7 items that I did not try. That seemed like quite a selection to me, what a fantastic lunch. If I really had to nitpick at something, I would say the ginger beef was a little crispy, but I was still able to chew it.
The hot and sour soup was quite good, but it had some bite to it. I didn't expect it at first, but it was a nice surprise. It was spicier than any hot and sour soups that I have had before, so I suggest having that soup if you like spicy stuff or if you have a cold and want to open up your sinuses.
The service was frequent and friendly. It started getting a little busier sometime into our lunch, but we didn't feel like we were being rushed at all. The restaurant is very roomy, so there was no problem manoeuvring your way around the tables, or to and from the buffet. There is also an upstairs area and the place has high ceilings, so it feels like you're in one of the nicer Chinese restaurants, but without the pricey food.
I will definitely visit this place again. Most likely for the buffet.
Yummy in my tummy!. I love the food here. Been going for years and their quality of Chinese buffet certainly beats out the rest of the Chinese buffet restaurants in town. Sure they're selection is not as large as some of the other ones, but where they lack in quantity, they certainly make up for it in quality.,,and that's key. Love the Ginger Beef and the Won Ton Soup. And they're MSG free too! All in all it's a cozy place and the staff is friendly and attentive. If you like Chinese buffets, this is a good place to visit.
Delicious. I visited China Rose for the first time and loved it. The atmosphere was cozy, relaxing and comfy. We had the buffet and what i loved was the fact that there was no MSG in any of their food and the selection i found to be just enough. They had the usual favorites like the ginger beef which I found to be just right and their salt & pepper calamari I have to say is probably the best I've had. The Everything was so tasty and yummy, I can't wait to go back and eat it again. They may need to add a bit more desserts but overall, I loved it and i'll be back for sure.
