The wonton soup was a very generous portion and good quality - especially for such a low price! Fast service for takeout and the staff were friendly.

If you're looking for quick and authentic Vietnamese food. You are at the right place! Try their beef stew. The beef is so tender and full of flavour. Haven't had a single bad experience here.
Bar none, by far, hands down, the BEST spring rolls I have ever tasted. I really liked the spring rolls. Did I mention the spring rolls? Lol.
And I have only ever tried the vegetarian ones as I don't eat pork, so I can't imagine how yummy those must be too. Nothing else on the menu has amazed me like those delicious spring rolls have. (Though I hear their soups are very tasty too.) I believe they use marinated tofu and mushrooms as well as the usual spring roll fillers, which is what makes these ones so freaking amazing. Come for the spring rolls, stay for the people watching (it's located across the street from the courthouse) and the incredibly sweet older couple that run the place will be sure to treat you like family. They remember your orders after the second visit, and they remember if you like it spicy or not. There's always music playing from another time and place, lots of yelling between the cook and the hostess as orders are placed, people of all stripes walking in through the door, and it all honestly makes you feel like you're somewhere else- even if only for half an hour. It's a place with a really unique charm to it, and even if it's not what you expected at first, you'll likely be back. Because spring rolls.
This place it legit. Nothing like a friendly little Vietnamese lady yelling at you when your "number 13" is ready! Tried the #13 vermicelli noodles, and a salad cold roll, which is just enough to leave you in a food coma after lunch. Try the iced viet coffee for a kick.
Had the vermicelli bowl with pork, shrimp and spring rolls. It was a nice surprise to mix everything up and find very fresh crunchy bean sprouts and lettuce on the bottom. I have to say the shrimp was a small portion but the taste of everything else made up for it. One thing you have to order are the spring rolls if not in your dish. I have never had a roll that was so full of meat filling. It was stuffed with pork! So good!! The couple that run the restaurant are so cute & friendly. It does get busy at lunch. Enjoy!
Great little place in Calgary just across from the court house. Owners are very welcoming. They make you feel part of the family. Spring rolls are bit larger than typical Vietnamese restaurants, but they are amazing. Food was flavourful and well prepared in the authentic Vietnamese style.
I ordered the Satay Beef Noodle Soup and my boyfriend ordered the Wor Wonton Soup during a rush lunch hour. Very quick service, both broths had a lot of flavor but the only negative comment I would have to say is the portion was quite small. It comes in one size, there was barely any noodles in my satay beef soup and seemed like there were more beans sprouts then noodles, sadly I wasn't full but overall, the taste was good.
This place is legit. I tried the traditional satay beef soup and it's so delicious. The broth is flavorful and it comes with all the fixings. Cucumbers, tomatoes, basil and lettuce on top of noodles in a spicy beef satay broth. So delicious!
Best Vietnamese downtown. Period.
So good!. I usually get a vermicelli bowl but have also had the beef sate sub and the (number 5!) beef satay pho. It's hard to go wrong with their name sake and I often get a spring roll or two on the side. Place is often busy but never takes too long. There's a reason my coworkers and I go here two or three times a week. Eat in or take out, I love it!
Nothing fancy, good food and prices. It's good solid food, but I do miss the old owners. They have been "travelling" fo a long time, I don't think they are returning. The wife cared about the customers, always had a smile and a "hi" and the husband always called everyone "my friend". Sometimes their two daughters would help out. Oh well. Same basic broth and food. Doesn't matter what spring roll you order, what they have is what you get. It's all good though.
Solid food, good price. Certainly more reasonable than a place half a block to the west.
A definite standby. I love coming to Spring Roll Chalet, it's always fresh, fast and delicious with friendly, courteous service. Pho and spring rolls are awesome every time!
Yummy Eats!. The broth they use is so delecious, and their stir fry's are exploding with flavor. Best Wor Won Ton in the city.
How sweet is she?!. I came to Spring Roll Chalet for lunch last week, ordered their traditional beef satay soup, then realized I forgot my wallet. With the loose coins and spare bill in my pocket, I was still short just over a dollar. The owner lady was so nice, said it's fine, no problem. I don't think I've ever tasted a more delicious lunch ever. I'm forever their continuous supporter.
Authentic Vietnamese food... I've been here couples time, tried different dishes from their menu, and I got to say they've all been really good. They are quite buzy during the lunch hours, but always manage to move the line along pretty well. This restaurant is a hot spot for downtown workers like myself, a must try.
Free Peanut Sauce. The food here is really good and I enjoy eating at this restaurant. The food doesn't change depending on what time you arrive, it is consistantly yummy. I love the fact that I can get a side of peanut sauce, which is also divine, for free.
They have pictures of what you can order on the wall (great for those who do not know vietnamese cuisine). And I think the fact that the whole crew works well as a team is wonderful. There is never a long wait, even when it's packed.
