Adorable little cafe that only uses fresh fruit - way better than any drinks that use powder! Service is always super friendly and efficient. Portions are generous, bubbles are included, and there's a seemingly infinite list of possible drink flavours. My personal favourite is red bean coconut, but strawberry and peach are also really good. Worth stopping by if you're craving bbt!
Came here after lunch today in chinatown. This small shop is in the basement under HSBC bank. Lots of combinations for drinks, took me a while to figure out what I wanted. It's good that they have fresh fruit bbt cuz I hate powdered drinks. I got the mango lychee slush with pearls and it was tasty. Cash only! Just grabbed a drink ans went back to the office.
Let’s keep this short and sweet. We were in Chinatown and wanted to grab bubble tea to go. Try Again Beverages House is tiny, cramped and tucked away in the basement of the HSBC building (take a quick left when you walk down the stairs) so this fit the bill perfectly. No room to sit and linger. They also have a million drink options to choose from. Seriously, every combination you can think of is on that massive list. I like how you can get three types of fruit combos but that’s probably why their drinks are so pricey (mostly in the $6.00 – $7.00 price range).
By far my favorite place to get bubble tea in the city! Being take out only, they have so many flavors ( I highly suggest the yogurt btw). Pearls are just the right consistency and the price is more than fair. Highly recommend!
Try Again has been a Chinatown staple for many years now, and one of the first original bubble tea houses in Calgary. I remembered that it used to have a more watery consistency than its competitors, simply because they used a much higher ice ratio, but after a recent visit, it seems that they have made significant changes to their approach in making bubble tea. The fresh fruit drink I ordered was clearly made from real fruits, and was refreshing and light without having too much of an icy consistency. My theory is that in noticing all of the other options that are increasingly available, Try Again has decided to adapt and change its model based on customer feedback, making it a rising force in Chinatown's food scene. One piece of feedback that comes to mind though, is the sweetness of the drinks, which again depends on personal preference. I found my drink to be a little on the sweet side, and would probably make that adjustment when I order the next time.
Mando coconut with jelly and pearls. I have been coming here for over 10 years. They have the best bubble tea in town.
My wife, daughters and myself love this place. Thanks for the great mango coconut bubble tea.

Great Bubble Tea!. This is an awesome Bubble tea place, the pearls are made perfectly and not rushed, when they run our for the day, they don't try to make a bad patch and start serving it, instead just say they are out. This is not a place to eat or hang out but instead pick up and go. I think they have one of the best Taro Bubble tea I have ever had.
The best!. Best bubble tea I have ever had. Pearls are well cooked, drinks are thick and delicious. I've tried many flavours and you can't go wrong.
They always substitute if I ask, coconut milk or soy instead of milk. I have taken friends with food sensitivities or special requests and the staff are very accommodating. They never hesitate to make exactly what you order the way you want it.
Best of all, they love what they do and it shows. Always great you and smile, from the first visit they had me hooked.
Sooo good. Its just a tiny place but the bubble tea is so good! cute cups!
Great drinks!. I really like the drinks they have at Try Again. My favorite is Coconut Jackfruit with rainbow jelly.
Good but why so many rules?. Our friend brought us to Try Again (weird name) while we were in Calgary for the stampede. We asked for the best Bubble Tea in Calgary, and this is where he brought us. I ordered the Taro Milk Tea slush and it was actually really good, and I was able to convert a friend who didn't want to try taro into liking it! The pearls were good too. My drink cost $4.
The place is really small. Not a place where you can sit down and drink with friends. Few complaints though, the workers/owners didn't seem very friendly, and there were lots of rules posted all around the store. - No outside food (like it matters, there's no where to sit, get your drink and go!) - Only one straw per drink - Do not lean on the counter..
Good BBT though!
CHEW Your Drink!. The use of fresh or frozen fruit rather than the usual powdered mix makes a welcome and delicious difference in Try Again's beverages.
All the usual and many unusual (like my fave, Durian) flavors are available in shakes, bubble teas and other unique beverages.
Huge tapioca "pearls" and jellies are also interesting and optional adds to your treat and can turn your drink into a chewable snack. Fun for all, but a choking hazard for very young children.
Try Again is a tiny, basement shop, viewable through the window from street level but requiring a short walk down the stairs to reach the entrance. There's only room for about a dozen thin customers standing at a time - pay, grab your straw, grab your drink and go!
With 98,267 flavours (I think that’s right), there’s no combination too bizarre, although I highly recommend avocado. Yes that’s right - avocado, with bubbles of course.
Not all their drinks are good but I found my favorite here. I highly recommend giving this place a visit if you're in Calgary.
