Take it an go.....coming from Edmonton this place is a must visit on each trip to YYC. Bun bo hue by the bucket....take home with all the fixens. Great value ... the small bucket can easily feed 5-6 people.
Best bun bo hue in the city. Great value, broth as full flavour. You can even bring your own big pot for take out to eat at home for a few days. I usually try to eat here monthly. It's just afar drive. The service is bad here but once again I'm here for the food!
This is the best place in Calgary to get great and very affordable bun bo hue. You can eat in, take out, or bring your own pot to take home and feed your family. Great for meal gatherings or a party. The price is depending on how large your pot is, usually $20 - $30 and it also comes with noodles, meat, veggies, and condiments!
Good portions and it's ridiculously cheap. All of the meats they use are good and the soup is not bad. Remember to ask for extra sate, it's crazy spicy!!! If you're looking for a quick fix, you could buy this and just add whatever else you want to it.
My BF and I had an eventful weekend so we decided to order a pot of bun bo hue to splurge over the weekend. Bring your own pot and leave with a delicious pot of bun bo hue that will feed 6 big bowls! They give generous portions of noodles, a bag of bean sprouts and basil. The pork balls and pork feet is in the broth. Side sauces that MUST go in the broth for the ultimate flavour. Will definitely do this again!
Very convenient. Owner is friendly, love the flavour! Bring your own pot, but very large portions of noodles and beef. Along with a variety of sticky rice and Vietnamese ja available
Probably the best "bring your own pot" bun bo hue!! The owner is always so kind. A pot worth of $30 could easily fill a group of 6 adults, so worth it!
Delicious and authentic! My family and I have been coming here for years. Bring your own pot is the way to go. $20 can easily feed 4-6 peoples.
The only place to go for Bun Bo Hue. My family have been coming to this place for as long as I can remember- at least 15 years. My mother always cooks traditional Vietnamese cuisine and rarely goes out to eat, but we never made our own bun bo hue when this place makes it so perfectly and fresh! + you can't beat $20 for a whole pot!
Simply Euphoric. Words cannot describe how great this place is. Bring in your own pot and for $20, you can feed 4-6 people! All the other foodstuffs like the vegetables and thick noodles are individually packed so that they stay nice and fresh.
Everything they throw in the pot is very tender and mouthwatering. The brown sauce that they provide you with brings a new layer of taste to the already wonderful broth.
Addictive!. Ever since I bought my first pot of soup from here about a month ago... I've been back almost weekend. Besides being a really good deal - $20 for a big pot of soup which includes meat, noodles and garnishes that can easily feed 6 people, the food is absolutely tasty and the staff are friendly to answer any questions you might have. I love the homestyle Vietnamese food that they have on the weekend and you can't eat those at a restaurant! Portions begin at $15 and you can buy as much as you like - as long as you bring your own pot/paint bucket.
One of the best Bun Bo Hue in Calgary. I love Bun Bo Hue and have tried many places. This is absolutely one of the best. The price is very cheap for the food you get. I like to buy it in a bulk. A pot of $30 can feed the whole party. I didn't need to cook and still got very good food. It's authentic for sure!!!! I also like their fried rice. hehehe......... feel so hungry now!!!
BBH - The Best Hue Style Noodle House in the World!. Stinky Mall Bun Bo Hue is good, but the BBH here with the sauce is to die for! This soup is dope! It is better than any Vietnamese noodle soup you'll have anywhere. Why? Because this place specializes in only one type of noodle - it's Bun Bo Hue. Thick, slippery noodles with lean beef, pork hock, fish balls, and fish/pork slices. Add in the BBH sauce - OMG - Mmmmm. It's like heaven. Or, if you're a crack addict, this will fix it!
BBH for short - this place is awesome! Like another review said, you can bring in your big pot to get it filled up to feed your hungry family. It is that good! Get it, taste it, love it!
Note: they serve a variation of the same noodle soup and costs about the same (all are very cheap in comparison with other noodle houses). Just order your size and the owner will give you what you need. You can also buy a big jar of that delicious BBH sauce for like $5. If you're crazy like some of my friends, you'll finish that jar in like 2 nights. That sauce is hot as hell, but very, very tasty.
Delicious Food at a GREAT price!. I really enjoy this restaurant/deli. The price is great and the food is really good quality and tastes great! I bought 1 dish of Banh Beo, and it was the best of the city! Its just like authentic Banh Beo! However, the green onion oil was a bit too chunky and the fish sauce (nuoc mam pha) was a little diluted. But I mean, you can obviously just cut the green onions to a smaller size and add some more fish sauce (nuoc mam) to the nuoc mam pha. Really like the food, so im probably gonna buy it again!
BTW, the plates look quite small, but they come in layers and layers of the banh beo.
Bring your Own Pot. It is located inside the Little Saigon Mall. This is mainly a take-out place but they do have a simple eat in area. Everyone is there for Bun Bo Hue. Bun Bo Hue is noodle with pork knuckle, pork meatball and beef shank in a slightly spicy beef/pork bone broth.
Please bring a large pot or even a bucket(enough to feed the entire extended family) to buy the soup, meat and noodles. You can start your order at $15(I have never ordered less than $15 but it is so cheap and filling... who will order less than that) and that is enough for 4-6 large bowls of noodle.
The soup is too salty for my family, we like to dilute it with some water and add some daikon in it to add some sweetness. You get the noodle in a separate bag and also some vegetable garnish on a plate. You bring the pot of soup and meat home and feed a family of 4 for two meals for less than $20.
In Little Saigon Centre, you will see a random eating area with the deli located across from it. What we have observed is that you can either sit first in that area and someone will come serve you, or you can order inside the deli itself. They have the cutest tea cups that are way too small. The tea is quite enjoyable with epic tea pots that do not spill when you're done pouring! I got the fish cakes and meatballs and John ordered the special with EVERYTHING. The soup felt light but packed a punch. The meatballs are amazing; both the flavour and consistency (that elasticity ;]). This time around, the meat was a tad dry, but the flavour made up for it. The noodles were perfect and we were both satisfied with the size of the portions. Also, if you bring your own gigantic pot, they'll fill it up for you with all the goodies and noodles separate starting at $15! Overall, we really enjoy this place and it's a great change from the usual pho restaurants we go to. Enjoy!
The premise: bring a big pot and you will be provided with soup, noodles, meat and garnishes to bring home, with portions beginning at $15. Such a good deal! I bought $30 worth of Bun Bo Hue which generously fed 6 people and also picked up an order of Vietnamese style dumplings to try as well ($5). Recommend!
The noodles, herbs and vegetables are packed separately, so that everything stays fresh. The meatballs and slices of beef were tasty, doused in two spicy condiments that were also provided.
