The Community Natural Foods Cafe is a hidden little gem for salads, sandwiches, and more! I was so impressed by their salad bar. Tons of variety and ingredients for creating your own salad. My favourite additions to my salad were the beet-orange salad, apple-fennel slaw, roasted garlic, pea shoots, and their coconut dressing. The salad was so delicious, fresh, and divine! This is the perfect place for a healthy, wholesome breakfast or lunch. The cafe also offers signature sandwiches, wraps, soups, pizza, smoothies, and fresh juices as well as coffee, and tea. When you're finished with your meal, you can easily get your organic grocery shopping done in the same building.
If you're looking to satisfy your salad fix, this is definitely a must-try!
Community Cafe. Is great. It's got the best salad bar I've seen EVER. I'm not talking about grand scale, it's the quality of ingredients available. Mixed organic greens, spinach, alfalfa sprouts, bean sprouts, shredded carrot and radish, all sorts of cheeses, olives, seeds and nuts, dried fruits, and a multitude of dressings to top it all off.
Salads are weighed and priced on a scale, I'm not sure of the rate, but as a person mentioned below it is worth thinking about how much you actually want to eat, because you'll be paying accordingly. But at $7 for my dream salad, with exactly what I wanted on it and how much dressing I wanted--you couldn't really start off shopping a better way.
Oh, yeah! There are other foods available too! Like forno cooked pizza, soups, smoothies, and more. I mostly stick to salads so I'm not so knowledgeable of the rest. But the dining area is really comfortable, glasses, filtered water, and friendly people--eating doesn't get much better.
Had lunch there with a coworker at the deli/buffet. It was so very good.... But. There is always a but. Unless you like spending ALOT on lunch. Watch the amount you're loading on your plate. Or it adds up quickly. But that being MY own fault I can't fault the store. So all in all. Great place for a warm lunch.
Great deli. I've been frequenting the deli section instead of ordering take-out at restaurants. The food is of great quality, delicious and affordable. Favorite items include tabbouleh salad - very light yet filling mixture of parsley and chickpeas and grains. The wild rice salad is a tasty mixture of pumpkin seeds, grains of wild rice, nuts and dried cranberries. Homemade curries and vegetarian lasagna are winners. I also tried a tiny piece of raw chocolate made from dates. It was satisfying and very rich. Cabbage rolls are a little bland, I have to add grated cheese to give it a bit more flavour. Best of all - I can tell it's pretty healthy. I just went down a whole size! Yay!
....Depends.... -The Aisle's are tiny.
-Always Clean
- I have found the staff to be really friendly, even when they don't know what they're talking about.
-They have some good prices for bulk items, dry fruit, almond milk, seeds,
-They have assorted meats too: Ostrich, Turkey, Boar, Buffalo, Extra Lean Beef, Salmon, Tuna, Lamb, Elk
-I really like their Gluten Free, Flourless whole grain bagels
-They carry a natural skin care/shampoo/oils/herbs section as well
-If they're not carrying an item you need, they'll get it for you.
-Sometimes they have speakers or events listed for health, ect
Some of their prices are crazy expensive!
