This place gets bad reviews however if you know what to order and go at the right time you can get pretty good hakka chinese here. We have been here many times because we love hakka chinese and miss it a lot since we are from toronto. For those who don't know what hakka chinese is its a indian chinese fusion with lots of yummy flavour and is spicy. Today we went at 4pm and ordered vegetable hot and sour soup ($8), chicken pakora ($13) manchurian chicken ($13) and special chicken and shrimp fried rice ($12) we ordered everything to be spicy. The food came out quick and Evrything tasted really good. We love the chicken pakoras here they may look overcooked but the inside is soft and warm. Being here a few times we learned that you have to come on the weekend to get fresh and better tasting food but also at an off time to get good service like today we went at 4pm. We also stay away from their beef items as they are chewy and not fresh. The biggest problem is that they are not consistent. But our hakka craving was satisfied today.
The restaurant has a a very specific Indian Chinese taste. I loved the restaurant in terms of ambiance and food as well. Indians must try manchurian and Hakka noodles.
Halal Chinese Restaurant. Hakka Chicken and the Chicken Wantens was the BEST!!! Staff is friendly. Clean area and Restaurant. Keeps you comfortable.
Went here today for a nice dinner. The place isn't that catchy. We had to wait till we got our tables even though there were few empty tables. Its a busy place though. We had the deep fried chicken wantons. It was crispy but had very little filling. And then we had the ginger beef, spicy chicken wings and chicken fried rice. The serving proportions are large. The food was absolutely delicious.
Taketomi Village has really good haka food . I usually order the chicken corn soup , spicy chicken Manchurian rice , chicken friend rice and pakora chicken balls all of which are cooked to perfection and I absolutely love them ! The downside to this restaurant would be that even though the menu is so big, majority of the items taste exactly the same and some even look the same ! Also the customer service can be worked on .
I have gone here many times over the years. the service is typical fob Chinese fair. They try and be polite but much of their attitude may be lost in translation. i really only go there for 2 dishes - vege ball manchurian (or hakka style) and noodles. usually if i go alone i only order vege ball manchurian and am not able to finish beyond 75%. and the food is really good. and they take a bit of time to serve so the stuff is being made. plus the servings are each made for 2 people. so unless i have more than 2 people plus me i cant order more than 2 dishes.
but food is really good plus is halal.
The best tasting indo chinese! Must try the corn soup, lolipop chicken wings, and veggie spring roll! Service is okay but go there for the food! Noodles, rice, chili chicken if u can handle the spicyness! Go try it out!
I love the lollypop chicken, Manchurian and Thai soup, Manchurian noodles and fried rice. The place is nestled in the heart of NE across T&T. It is priced very good for the serving. I usually have take out and it is enough food for my wife and me for two to three meals.
Delicious food must try. Love to food here Authentic halal meat from Basha International Foods i really recommend the chilli chicken, chicken fried rice, hot and sour soup, lollipop wings, pakoras, and chicken corn soup :) bring ur family here they will love it
Bad service , decent food.. This place has good indo-chinese food, but if you want to know what is in your food or how clean the kitchen is then this is not the place for you.
We dont eat in this place, but we do take outs. Except for couple of people there, everyone is rude. Once the waitress raised her voice at me for ordering pop along with main course :| . The place is dirty and smells weird. I take out from this place once a quarter only because there is not other good indo chinese place.
Best Chinese and Indian Mix Restaurant. The restaurant is amazing; it contains so many foods that I have not tried yet, but out of the ones I have tried; American Chop Suey, chicken rice, garlic chicken, and I would especially recommend the Lollipop Chicken. Everytime I do go there with my family, we do regret having to wait all the time, and the customer service is bad.
Can't say great stuff about their service, but their food can be really good sometimes. However, I think the quality of their food is gradually going down the drain.
Good food for bad service. Food is very good without doubt. They have 100 diff items which taste almost the same .. Customer service is not good at all. They need to keep staff who speak proper englis atleast, Change the interior
Good hakka chinese. I've only ordered take away at this place so can't speak to the service but the hakka food is good, its the only place in Calgary I've found that has this kind of food, and coming from Toronto where there's many options I used to frequently eat Hakka. The chicken pakora's are delicious. I've tried the american chopsuey, general tso's chicken and manchurian beef and have enjoyed them so far. If you're doing takeaway be sure to ask them to put the noodles in a separate container for the chopsuey so they don't get soggy on the way home.
Horrendous service..decent food. We only order takeout because the service is that bad. It is even bad with take out. So rude...it is unbelievable but decent food. The meat and veggie options are both good. Good prices, they really need to improve their customer service. Tonight..my wife said the service at take out was great...so maybe it's just me.
