One of my best pick for Vietnamese food is Noodles World ... The food is delicious and the portions are big and very reasonable prices...
We ordered the house mi the Gioi and the deluxe bun and both were very tasty and full of flavour with full of assorted meat and mix greens.
And for the service they are greeted you when you entering the door with a welcome in arms.
This joint serves a giant bowl of soup, vermicelli or rice dishes.. with that said, I'm not a huge fan of the flavours here. Traveling through Vietnam for 3 months I did come across quite a few stands that served the same style sauté and fish sauces, I just couldn't get on with it tho. Don't let me discourage you from trying this Vietnamese Restraunt... you may really enjoy it!
I've been here for years. Best place to get the rice dish but it's very filling if you get the special combo. Very consistent and quick.. Try the dry noodles if you are not feeling the rice.
The best bon bo hue I've ever had. The soup base is pork bone based, I could just have the entire bowl of soup plus the noodle. They must have boiled their soup with pork for a long long time. Have not tried their beef noodle soup yet, but bon bo hue is definitely worth the try.
Had the bun rieu here it's not as good as vietnam but there just isnt enough places that serve it in Calgary. Also, try the dry shrimp, pork noodle. Those 2 items are one of my favourite there.
Food here is great. Authentic flavours and extremely large portions. I ordered the special vermicelli and enjoyed every single bite. The rare beef pho was good but we had to send it back because the soup wasn't hot enough - this was a bit of a let down because we were there around 4pm so there were hardly any other customers around.
We are from Winnipeg so I always look for the best bun bo hue. First impression was it was a quiet, basic sit down place, good amount of room but we came when it opened so it was quiet. Service was good we started off with the butter fried quail tastes like how my parents make it so also another good first impression again. The bun bo hue was good but Winnipeg's is spicier but still good for a first time in Calgary. My fiancé thought the pho was good as well. We would definitely come back! Bun bo hue all the way! (better than pho dau bo) whenever we go eat at viet restaurants we always compare to our parents dishes!
This one uses real beef bone soup, most Vietnamese restaurants just use stock with msg. The quantity they put in your bowl is abundant, most other places have reduced the quantity of beef. The beef and sprouts are fresh. Beef soup noodle tastes clean and fresh. However the dinning room isn't that good looking.
Really great sate bun! I don't often see an option for sate on the noodles so it was nice to see that and the meat was delicious. Really great flavor and portions. Definitely our new go to place for bun.
I came here to try the fried macaroni with diced beef. I saw a picture on someone's IG and it looked very intriguing. I tried making it at home too and loved the sauce the macaroni is coated with. I wanted to see how it compared to an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. No disappointment here, it was really good. A little oily tho.
This is the first time I've been here and will come back to try other dishes.
I normally don't like to go eat at Vietnamese restaurants. I find that the ones in Edmonton are average and nothing special, usually serving the same pho, vermicelli, and rice dishes. Every time I go to Calgary with my family though, they always want to stop at Noodle World for lunch. Over the years, I've started to like it more and more.
We came here at 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon after Song Huong, Mekong, and Pho Dau Bo were all closed for some reason. It was pretty full for this late in the afternoon, and you could hear the chatter of Vietnamese over the sound of no music. The interior has light purple walls, cloudy dark blue tables and a drop ceiling. The washrooms however, were kind of dirty.
We got the Durian Shake and the Jackfruit Shake; both were good and was filled to the brim. The Bun Bo Hue had an actual pork bone with meat on it, which was a rare sight. This Bun Bo Hue was reminiscent of the one from Song Huong (which I hold as the King of Bun Bo Hue), but wasn't quite there yet. Still very delicious though.
The Bun Rieu had a strong tomato flavour and lots of toppings. We did not like the texture and flavour of the shrimp meat patty, but the bowl overall was good.
We kind of stumbled upon Noodle World and didn't know what to expect, so it was a pleasant surprise. The food was enjoyable, but if you're one of the Vietnamese restaurants occupying real estate on 17th Ave SE, you have to be.

Really like the food here. Menu is pretty big so haven't tried everything yet but most things taste really amazing (except Pho). I personally think their Pho is not very good here but other noodle and rice dishes are pretty damn good!
There's more to Vietnamese cuisine than just Pho. If you're feeling adventurous and want to try the many other Vietnamese noodles then this is the place to go. This is my go to place for Bun Rieu, Hu Tieu Nam Vang and Com Do (red rice).
Delicious. Service was prompt, friendly and food came quickly.
Sate beef and curry chicken were beautifully spiced and delicious. I'll be back!
Bun Rieu. My go to place for bun rieu.
Rice dish and vermicelli dishes should also be noted as they are also just as fantastic as the bun rieu.
Best rice dishes. I have ate here many time, i love the special rice dish they have that literally has everything on it. From shrimp susage, pork, springroll, pork chop, shredded pork, egg pie and fish sauce. Number one rice dish
Best Viet food in Calgary.... Aside from my mom's cooking, of course.
I've been to quite a few Viet restaurants in Calgary and this is by far the best when it comes to the dry noodle dishes (vermicelli) and short grain rice dishes (com tam). Any time my brother goes for a haircut in the Little Saigon strip mall or we go to the doctors or dentist, we'll stop by here to grab lunch or dinner. I took my friends here for lunch because they wanted good Viet food in Calgary since some came down from Edmonton and they loved it. I'm glad to be back in town 'cause quite frankly the Viet food restaurants in Edmonton are mediocre.
Best vermichelli bowls!!. If u havnt tried the buns here, you are missing out!! they are soo yummy!! AND very big portions too!! meat is very tasty, well marinated... i only eat the buns everytime i come here, cant get enough :))
Great noodle place!. This was my first Vietnamese restaurant and still the best I've visited. This is a simple looking restaurant, but one that you really feel comfortable in. The servers are friendly, polite and not pushy. The waitress was great at fixing a mistake and exchanged spicy noodles for mild ones. We had pho and satay noodles. Both were very good. If you ask for seafood they even give you crab and squid. The prices are great: $6.95 for small noodles (which is more than enough for me). This place is definitely worth going back to.
I really enjoy this place. Pho is great. Try the quail.
