I used to drive here from lethbridge to get my craving fix. Excellent place to eat
Always try to come here at least once whenever I come to Calgary. Large selection on their menu and the classics are always on point!
We were Calgary on this weekend for dog sitting. On Saturday, We had early snack dinner at the Pacific Place Mall before the grocery. The restaurant named Pebble Street. It located right outside the mall and beside Forbidden City Seafood& Dim Sum Restaurant. There are lots of parking spaces for people to park their cars. People can go shopping at the mall, and then find a restaurant to eat. The location is such convenience for people.
We arrived the restaurant around 4:15 pm. Even though it’s very early before the dinner time, the restaurant was still half full already. I couldn’t believe that lots of Chinese people have their dinner this early at the restaurant. We found a table and the waitress brought the menu to our table fast. Then, she began to serve our drinks. The menu was very colorful and each dish has a picture, which made us easier to order the food. There are so many selections on the menu. We couldn’t decide which one we should have. After a few minutes discussed, we decided to order Noodles from this restaurant. The prices of the noodle bowls are about $10 or less, which is a very great deal. I had it’s Beef Flat Noodle Bowl with hot milk tea. My boyfriend ordered Beijing Duck Rice Noodle with cold milk tea. Our noodles came out fast. The noodles were well cooked. Vegetable in the soup was fresh. The soups were very hot and tasty. I believe both of them used the same chicken soup base. Each bowl had lots of meat. Both noodles bowls were large portion so delicious and tasty. We ate them all. My hot milk tea was OK. It was very simple, which tasted like Milk + Tea. My boyfriend’s cold milk tea was very different from mine. It was super delicious and had very strong flavors. The whole meal cost us $19 include the tax. Add the tips, we spent $21. It’s such a great experience at Pebble Street. We enjoy our dinner there. Definitely, we should come back to this place again.
One of my family's fav Chinese restaurant. Consistent quality and value.
Near a chinese supermarket, we are usually the only Caucasians there. I look for these places tbh.
Comfort food cafe is their theme.
Lunch specials are my personal favorite as they comprise of surprisingly western homecooked meals. I often have asian style porkchop on spaghetti with sauce and vegetables, comes with homemade soup and coffee and garlic toast for 11.50. Huge lunch. Delicious.
My wife will have stirfry vegetables on crispy noodles... large portion, cooked to perfection.
Curry dishes are great!
A lot of people are off put by the service... well... understand the culture and make yourself heard when you need to order. I've had no issue keeping this rule in mind, and, we have always found the lead waitress very pleasant.
Will be back many times again.
The café serves a Hong Kong style café cuisine. There is baked rice, which is delicious and noodle dishes. There are seats that are booth like and the service is alright. There is bubble tea served at the café. The café is connected to a Chinese restaurant. The atmosphere of the café is loud. The space is medium spaced. The washroom is not as clean as it should be, the last time I went there. The good is delicious though.
Love coming here for HK style diner food. I got the shredded pork & thousand year old egg congee and it came boiling hot in a clay pot. One of my favourite comfort food. I was craving ying yang fried rice- half red sauce and half white sauce on fried rice. My favourite is always the white side so I asked for only the white side. They were very accommodating and was able to customize my order. Food came out really quickly and food was good.
I always find comfort eating here. For the price and the amount of food you get is always good. The food is tasty and my wallet is happy. I had egg whites and shrimp over rice and it was really enjoyable. We also ordered gyoza which was great also. I never get bad meals here really. But be warned the service is not great and not everyone will be served at the same time. If you order soup the garlic bread comes when the bill comes. (seriously) I don't get if we have 3 people at a table we get one menu. What is that? We never get enough menus. Other then those quirks. Its worth checking it out
highly recommend the halnan chicken rice and the triple baked rice. Been here multiple times with my family, delicious food! I can see why it gets so busy :D A bit far from where I live but its worth the drive!
We were gonna have the afternoon snack in here as usual, but we end up being late and gotta have our food from the dinner menu. We ordered the special and mango pork chop rice. The portion was bigger than before, and tasted better too! the staffs were nice this evening. We spent $30 for two, and even have food packed up for tmr lunch.. Really worthy!
I usually come here for dinner, service is okay in my opinion I don't find it terrible. Food is very tasty, especially their fried rice, vegetables always seem fresh whenever we order. Food is always served quick
The food is always yummy especially when you are hungry at 3pm in the afternoon, but the service needs a lot of work, the waitresses all stood around in a line at the front chatting, yet they seem to not be able to take your order. told us we can sit anywhere since they are quite dead; yet they didn't seem to see me while they walked around passed me many times to pick up dirty plates and dishes from other tables.
Always good. Budget food that hits the spot
Very good food. I will be back next time I'm in town.
ignore the low rating on urban spoon...that's probably due to the service. what do you expect? Chinese restaurants in general are not knownfor their friendly service, just take the abuse and enjoy the food.
I've been here many times before and recently stopped by for lunch. Yes their service is poor. It always has been and always will be. I tried their seafood and pork chop baked rice today and it was surprisingly good. The seafood was cooked perfectly in particular the whole squid. It was tender and not the least bit overdone. Despite the poor service I do enjoy their baked rice dishes and will continue to eat here.
The food is great, service sucks, likely not going to change. I still go for the lunch special.
I think people are getting their noses out joint over the service, which isn't bad per se. Food comes hot, it's always good. Maybe the waitress doesn't smile when she pours tea but that's normal in a lot of Chinese restaurants. I think it's cultural. Otherwise the food is as good as anything in Hong Kong and it's reasonably priced. We've been eating here every other week for years and have never had a bad meal.
Good food. I love Hong kong style foods and I have to say Pebble Street isn't bad. The only thing I can say that sucks about this place is the service. It's a hit or miss based on the days, but one time I remember waiting forever for food, it was really annoying since I had an appointment to meet that day so I would dislike this place solely because of that. However, I've been here more than once so I'll say other times they've been good and because I also enjoyed the food on those days, I will say I like this place. My favourite dish here is some dish that is like fried rice with small fish roe and scallop bits. I forgot the name but that one is soo damn good.
