Absolutely amazing. Great service, great atmosphere, fabulous menu. Plus the food is more than you expect! Crème brûlée was to die for! Cant wait to visit the city again and go back!

We had the most wonderful evening with Mike and his crew. Food was fresh and delish. We simply kept on ordering and sharing. Chatting and Laughing. Great spot and will become one of our go to places every time we are in Calgary. Check them out, you will not be disappointed. Thanks guys for making our evening out simply awesome!! ~ Franco, Colleen and Antonio
Had the most amazing meal . Will be back again again.
My girlfriend and I had our first date here. And, well, we're still together one year later. So I decided to have our 1 year anniversary date at you guessed it: Wine Bar.
The staff was very accommodating from the time I called to ask that they reserve the specific table we had our first date (they don't take reservations and made an exception), to the point where they kept a bouquet of flowers in the back. They were all awesome.
Dinner was fantastic. We had a cheese board, homemade chips with dill dip, short rib, and pork belly. Everything was delicious. I'm a single malt fan so I had a scotch (solid selection) and the lady had wine.
Allison (hope I spelled her name properly) was our server, and the same server we had for our first date (she remembered us). Outstanding service, very friendly, we were happy to see her again. She let the kitchen staff know it was our anniversary and the chefs put together a nice dessert for us which Brendan hand delivered.
Very memorable experience. This is a great spot for a first date or dinner and drinks; a real Calgary gem. The quality is great and it won't break the bank. Thanks to the Wine Bar staff for making our first date, and first anniversary memorable. We'll be back soon.
Food and service is always top notch!!! Always come back beyond satisfied!!! Love bringing all my friends here for the first time. They always leave amazed!!!
Djing winebar tonight come by for a drinky! 7-close
Always enjoy a stop at Winebar, there is a very unique patio (they take over some of the street) for the summer time. I have never been disappointed on any of the appi's I have had or the wine selection. We often go after the Ballet or other performances at the Jubilee.
I’ve been to Wine Bar Kensington multiple of times – for my own stag, girls’ night, Sunday half price wine night, and impromptu meetings. It’s a beloved bar for locals, particularly those that live in the hood. Which is why I’m surprised to see this is my first post for Wine Bar.
Awesome cheese fondue. Great and varied wine list. Place was full when we arrived but the staff was very accommodating and found us a table a few minutes later. Had a great time
Always enjoy a stop at Winebar, there is a very unique patio (they take over some of the street) for the summer time. My friend Carly just took over as GM. Can't wait to see the changes she will make, fantastic background in wine and food. I have never been disappointed on any of the appi's I have had or the wine selection. We often go after the Ballet or other performances at the Jubilee.
I've never had anything but wonderful experiences eating here. The staff are friendly and excellent at selecting wine according to your preferences. The specials menu is always interesting. I definitely recommend ordering a cheese plate and the short ribs!
Personally I think there's nothing to complain about. I enjoy the wall decor / art, friendliness of the staff and their service, and being able to openly watch preparation of food. The flavours of the food were great, not too under or overwhelming.
Delicious dishes and the staff were very attentive yet relaxed; even when the place got busy, they were never pushy about getting us out. The service was also fast and the prices are quite reasonable for the quality of their food. An additional bonus: the decor is quite lovely!
Took my cousin for Sunday 1/2 off wine & really enjoyed ourselves! We had a big meat & cheese board and it was delicious. Really liked there pairings they had with the cheeses (different breads & sauces), and had a great bottle of wine for 1/2 off, so no complaints. My only qualm was that my server could have potentially been more attentive...but I get it, it was a slow Sunday night, so I won't hold it against her. Will totally be back for the ambiance, wine, and cheese. It wasn't pretentious, which is also a plus!
Highly recommend!! I love love this wine bar 🍷. It's a very intimate, ultra cool little restaurant. The wine selection is obviously fantastic. Their charcuterie platters are five-star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ With unique, high quality meat and cheese options; you can't go wrong!! The staff is incredibly knowledgable and friendly. This place is not pretentious at all. One of my fav's 😄
Had a great time for my birthday last night. Service was excellent, the wine selection was vast with a variety of price points. I had the muscles and they were perfectly cooked! Will definitely be back! Thanks!
What a cool experience ! This restaraunt is fantastic ! The servers and owner were polite and very friendly. We went on a Sunday so we got to enjoy half price bottles of wine. We started out with oysters that were very fresh and tasty. Then we tried 5 types of cheese and 5 types of meat - we loved all of them and really enjoyed the accompaniment of garlic red peppers and honey. It was neat to see the chefs make the dishes right in front of us. I would definitely like to go back and try a couple more appetizers !
This is a really cool place if you like wine. The have a huge selection of wine. Their food is great too. Also huge selection. The portions are very small so you get to try many different kinds. The server was very knowledgeable and nice. Really good to have a date night or a girls night out at. Awesome experience.
Tried this place for the first time even though we walk by it all the time in Kensington. It's kind of in a half-basement area, but I like that it's nice and cool and somewhat hidden.
We just wanted to grab a small bite and the dishes we ordered were perfect. The cheese and charcuterie board was awesome, I loved that they wrote down what was what on the paper and the server explained the pairings really well. The mushrooms on biscuit with mornay sauce was also excellent! Really creamy and heavy though, it was perfect for sharing between the two of us. The oysters were good, but didn't seem like anything special.
We visited on a Sunday afternoon so I'm not sure what the place is like during dinner, but definitely want to go for another visit :)
Amazing food, not huge portions but priced reasonably. Wine was great, very knowledgable servers who were extremely friendly and attentive, even on a busy night. Great atmosphere too, definetly will be back!
I wish I lived closer. A nice place to stop by for good wine and a good light dinner. Too bad I don't live in the neighbourhood. Tried a few glasses of wine and the charcuterie and cheese plate. Tasty food good wine friendly and attentive service. +++ I have only nice things to say about this nice place
It was very lovely and yummy, would come again, just terrible music way too loud. Food was great, service great, ok wine list by the glass.
Phenomenal! One of my new favourites! Food is so fresh, unique and delicious! Love the atmosphere, great service. Love their unique specials. Their pickled goods are amazing. The smelt and salted cod is to die for. So so happy with this place. Will be coming back offen.
Great Atmosphere. Went for a holiday party, and the atmosphere was perfect. Drinks were always full, hors d'eurves plates were passed around frequently, as well as a table placed to help yourself. My favorite part would have been the staff - they were friendly, and I love that the hors d'eurves were made in front of us.
Went for dinner on a Thursday night. Not too busy. Found the chalk menu hard to read in the dim light. Had the pork belly sandwich. A bit heavy on spice. It was served with duck fat fried potato chips. They were tasty. Asked the server which wine she recommended and she was helpful. Had Chardonnay. Everything had very strong flavours. I liked it all. Good service but not very friendly staff. Open kitchen made the restaurant quite smokey. Will go back.
Great fresh food fabulous service!
Amazing Dining Experience. My husband and I have been to Winebar on four separate occasions now and have never left disappointed. Both the food and wine are always amazing. Each dish is impeccably prepared with love and attention. Tip- sit up at the bar and watch the chefs prepare their tasty creations. It's not only entertaining, but I really love to watch them in the zone. Also- they're always cleaning! The kitchen is immaculate; even when the place is packed. One of my favorite spots to visit!
Pretty good, slightly cramped. Good wine, great service, and the kitchen knows what it's doing. I'd personally like to see a few more artisan beers for those warmer days, but that's just me. Decor is nice, but a full house can make one feel somewhat claustrophobic.

Have gone here a few times now and always left happy. The food has been great every time, the wine list offers something for everyone, and the service is spot on. Will absolutely be back.
WBK is always busy for a reason. Great food, great wine and helpful staff. Highly recommended!
Always busy for a reason. Came here with a work colleague and her friend on a Friday evening.
To sum it up: funky atmosphere, elegant food and amazing wine selection.
Need to be quick to grab a table though as it is so popular but once you do, you never want to leave. Just by looking at the menu, I wanted to try every item. But of course I didn't so I have something to look forward to the next time I drop by with my fiancé. Also, they had delicious specials on the blackboard which were equally (if not more) exciting as the items on their regular menu.
While I was there, I saw that the chef was cooking something right near the bar area. I couldn't exactly see what it was but it smelled absolutely divine! If I lived in Kensington, this would be a regular hangout and I can't wait to bring my fiancé here!
February 16 2012. There was 8 of us having wine and tapas. Service and food excellent. Everyone's favorite was the fondue and ravioli. My house made marshmallow for dessert was heaven.
WINE BAR LOVE!. FIRST OFF, Sit at the bar if you are 2 people, and watch the Chef build up artistically mouth watering and amazing Mussels, and amazing risottos'. Funking delicious! The wine list is truly great, and priced very well. Try the: "Sisters Run Shiraz", a big booty Shiraz that always has boots on (read bottle)! I personally think one or two good guy servers could make this place a little more creditable, noticed it was all girls, no offence girls but having a guy server can be a nice change. Over all, go here tonight. Personally love this place. Industry staff recommended, and loved. That's a fact!
Wonderful!!. This place is really cool. My parents told me about it, they had a date night here and instructed my to stop by and make sure I sat up at the bar. I did just that and can't say I was disappointed. The service staff was great and helped me find a wine I liked, and the chefs behind the bar were very entertaining. My boyfriend and I enjoyed a charcuterie platter, with elk salami, duck proscuitto, sausage and an assortment of cheeses and accoutrements. All delicious. We then shared braised duck and a salad, both a hit. Not only is the food great, the service staff friendly and fun, but the atmosphere is perfect. Will certainly be my next "girls night" destination.
The food here is really good. We tried about 5 different dishes and 8 different wines. We were quite disappointed that our waitress couldn't recommend any wines to go with the specific dishes. I expected this would be a given at a "wine bar"
Expensive. Be prepared to pay premium for small portions. Otherwise the atmosphere's nice and the food tasty.
Amazing meal, get the knowledgeable guy to discuss wine and food choices as this enhances evening. Great wine/great food.
Calgary had one of the most interesting kitchen takeovers for the past four weeks. Winebar Kensington was taken over by Chef Brandon Baltzey and it got transformed into ThisIsNotWinebar.

The menu could use some expansion but what they did have, they did very well (which is a good thing).
