Amazing food!!! The pho dac biet is amazing and the food is always fresh! Don't get me started on the sate beef subs!! The staff is always friendly and the prices are very reasonable! I highly recommend this place!
Decided to try a new vietnamese place and found Pho Hoang. I got the vermicelli with shrimp and charbroiled pork; the pork was delicious and there was just the right amount of veggies included in the dish.
The food here was amazing! I enjoyed the friendly service and the price was very reasonable. me and my friend ordered the beef salad rolls which were perfectly grilled and delicious. We also ordered the beef sate sub and 2 special phos. The food was very enjoyable and I will definitely be coming back! I live downtown and will make the trek back here to eat!
Always great service, great food. Their XL #4 special phõ is my go to (I order with no tendon, no tripe). Their vermicelli dishes always leave me full
The pho was so good and aromatic. Good portions and Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk was amazing. The servers were really nice and really do try their best to go as fast as they can, will be coming back!
Great place, great food, great staff, will return again. Really enjoyed my pork chop and rice with a side of Pho soup. The soup was not soapy and the pork chop was marinated nicely. Been eating Pho since it started to gain popularity in YYC. Definitely a place I will come back to when I'm looking for a Pho place in the deep N.E area.
Lately there soup have been tasting like soap we no longer go there after being customers of 10 years.
This has always been a high school favourite with my friends and I. You can probably get better quality somewhere else and there isn't that much variety in the menu (compared to other pho places), but really good service!
Good. Whenever I need to satisfy my Pho cravings in a hurry, I always end up at Pho Hoang, as it is close to my house.
I have always ordered the sate beef pho for the past 2 years and I have not been disappointed as of yet. Sometimes the broth is average, and sometimes it tastes amazing. It just depends on the day you go and who is working in the back I reckon because it is not consistent.
Overall I will continue going to Pho Hoang, it has great prices, the owner is a very cheerful fellow and I enjoy their service.
Fresh, Delicious, and Simple. I would never have found this awesome little place if not for the fact that when I bought my house in September of last year (2009) we had two weeks of waiting for our new washer and dryer to be delivered, so were forced to find the local laundromat. While there, we got hungry, and lo and behold there was a Vietnamese restaurant kitty-corner to it in the same strip.
My husband and I LOVE Vietnamese food, and have eaten at places all over Calgary. Going in, the first thing that greeted us was a smiling welcome from the owner, and the usual tired old decor you expect from a stripmall Vietnamese restaurant.
We settled in, and checked out the menu. We love Vietnamese coffee, so that was a must-have, and our usual fare was Bun - rice vermicelli with (usually for us) charbroiled pork or chicken and spring rolls on top.
The coffee was the best we'd ever had, and they make you wait a good 10-15 minutes while it is slow-dripped and fussed over in the back.
We have become regulars, and in the past year the owner sold the place to his nephew, who renovated it (tastefully), and managed to somehow improve on the already delicious menu, without raising prices. An additional bonus, everything is made on site, and you can tell that it's all fresh, and never overcooked.
Favourite dishes:
Salad Rolls
Deep Fried Wontons
Wor Wonton Soup
Pho (any type)
Bun (any type)
Coffee is a must-have!
The prices are pretty standard, in the $8 range for entrees, and the staff are friendly, and make a point to remember you.
