This place is great value because it has sushi as well as Korean BBQ with the all you can eat. They have mostly tables with the grill on the table but some do not. I wasn't able to get a table with a grill which worked out better because they cook it better than I would have for myself. Ngiri sushi was good for all you can eat and the BBQ items were excellent. The great thing about this place is the service isn't very good so you don't need to tip much.
Amazing place! Their sashimi are so fresh, best in town. And the BBQ on table is so fun to work with, especially for my teenage son. Absolutely good experience, will recommend to all of my friends.

The restaurant serves all you can eat Korean and Japanese food. There are tables with grills on them to grill meat. The service is alright and there is many items to choose from the all you can eat menu. The price for the all you can eat, is not bad and is at a reasonable price. The food was delicious and the staff is accomadating. The restaurant serves alcohol and has an ordering system of using a paper and pencil. The inside of the restaurant looks nice and is a medium sized space. There is parking in front of the restaurant.
This place was amazing! Great value for money on the lunch all you can eat. I highly recommend trying this sushi spot. I left full and still managed to try the deep fried ice cream! I am going back for dinner next time.

Some reviews made us leary to try this place, but it was close to where we were staying so we decided to try it anyways. The waitress was very helpful explaining the menu and very pleasant. We noticed rightaway how busy it was and commented that it couldnt be bad like some of the reviews said if it was so jam packed at 7pm. The food came quick. And the food was amazing. There's no limit on sashimi (edmonton ayce has a limit) and the pieces are generous and fresh! The Korean grill was an awesome touch. We grilled up our lamb and pork and it was amazing. The rolls were well prepared perfect. And again the servers were prompt with our food.
The ambiance is a tad dark. Maybe setting a mood?!?! But it seems clean and well kept.
I would recommend.. especially with only a $26.99 price on ayce we were very please with our experience!!
This place needs some love! I read some of the other reviews and expected the worst but this place is excellent! The staff was great and constantly checking up on us and very friendly! I will most definitely be going back and telling everyone to do the same! Don't listen to the other reviews and check this place out. The only thing is if you pay for the all you can eat option you have to pay for any leftovers you have but they give you small portions to avoid having to pay extra which I know will probably bother some people but I thought it was fantastic and many people I know feel the same. If you're having doubts take the chance and visit this place! You won't regret it!

Sushi BBQ is a pretty cool restaurant as it is all you can eat Korean BBQ and sushi! It's a set price for adults and extremely inexpensive for children (I think $1/age). The sushi, sashimi and BBQ meats are great quality but served in small portions. I love that you can order and try as many different items as you can handle. Great way to try something new! They have a large selection of rolls but not a very large list of sashimi or regular sushi. The Korean BBQ list is great plus they offer an extensive kitchen menu.
The staff are very quick and attentive in a fairly large sized restaurant.
My boyfriend and I visited here on a Friday at lunch. If you plan on coming here for the AYCE, make sure you are good and hungry or you won't get your money's worth, ($25/adult). The staff was friendly and efficient and checked on us often. The BBQ was delicious but takes a while to cook. The sashimi was also good quality. As for the rolls, they do have more rice than one would typically expect, but when it's all you can eat, it came as no surprise. My one criticism would be that the all you can eat ordering sheet doesn't have descriptions of the items so when you order it's a bit of a gamble. If you order something and don't like it, you will be charged for what you don't eat. All in all, I would definitely return here.
Quality sashimi, and nigiri, very fresh, this is the place to go if you are fish lovers. Newly renovated, very beautiful. Great experience.
I went to Sushi BBQ inn last Saturday, the restaurant just finished their renovation, finally, it looks like a whole different restaurant now, nice decor, upbiting music, food is as good as always, highly recommended!!
I eat here at least twice a year, I don't go during peak times usually, i have recently learned you can make a reservation which went smoothly, I arrived for a 5 pm reservation on a Friday, I was sat before all my party arrived and since I knew we were all doing all you can eat I was able to order some things before my friend arrived. sure things can be slow but they are quite busy and I tend to forget what we order as the time goes by but we always get plenty enough to be more than full when we leave. We did have one incident where the server brought us something we didn't order but we noticed before they put it on the table so it wasn't an issue really. The California roll's have lettuce in them which I find weird but are still pretty good. I LOVE the BBQ pit. I find the marinades really good. The wait staff were all very attentive and friendly.

Good Food... Bang for your buck!. I guess I was spoiled by Sushi BBQ Inn. After trying another place.... I will never go anywhere but Sushi BBQ Inn.
Well after recently going to One Sushi on macleod for AYCE sushi..... Sushi BBQ Inn has their ducks in a row!!! I guess I never really thought about how bad AYCE can be until I went somewhere else.
BBQ Inn is really quick considering it is always full. They always get you your food. Everything I order seems to always be consistant. Decent selection. And you get to cook your korean BBQ right on your table. FUN! Their ordering system is actually really good. The paper is far better than the stupid iPad at One Sushi. The staff here is fairly consistant as well. I've only had one below par experience... and it was definitely because they were terribly understaffed. But I still left full! When they are fully staffed, I have always been looked after with a smile.
I guess the best part is.... You go in..... start eating as soon as you order.... and I always leave with food in my belly (LOTS OF IT). I go to AYCE to eat...all I can eat! And I certainly get it here!!

I've been eating at this bustling joint fairly regularly for a couple of years now since the location is convenient, and how fun is all you can eat with a group of friends or a date? I do need to mention that the place is looking tired and run down. BBQs, washrooms, etc need a good overhaul. For the amount of traffic that it has, things are looking dingy and in poor repair.
As for the food, it is usually right up to par. The service is brisk but you sometimes need to prod the servers to bring certain items, refills, etc.
I think I'm coming to the end of my run with this place, as I'm sure there are equally good tasting, more "clean" looking joints in the vicinity.
Good bang for your buck. Went on a busy Friday night and waited about 30 mins for a table. My server was very friendly and attentive. I was informed that everyone at the table had to either have AYCE or a la carte, no mixing. We both ordered AYCE. Most of the rolls are tempura and not my favorite but some I liked a lot.
Lots of nigiri choices but only 3 sashimi, and only one order per adult at a time. Sashimi is very small pieces, 3 to an order.
The veggie tempura was pretty greasy and only yam and cantaloupe, but the gyoza was pretty good.
We were informed we could order as much as we wanted but not to waste it as we would be charged for uneaten food. No issues there as we were smart and ordered in 3 or 4 rounds.
We had no mandatory tip added and we had no issues with ordering. For what you pay for you definitely get your moneys worth. Will nom again.
Decent food for AYCE Service Average. The sushi and Sashimi portions are generous and we liked most everything we ordered
The tables are a little awkward for a larger group but over all, we were happy with the quality and variety.
Tip for visitors: meat on the BBQs take a very long time especially chicken so make sure you have lots of other things to eat while you are cooking
I think some portion size pics would be helpful when ordering the AYCE so that we know how much to order at a time
Happy birthday indeed. My wife and friends took me here for my birthday this past Friday. Luckily they booked a reservation, because it was packed!
The staff did a pretty good job considering how busy it was. We tried practically everything.
The tempura was crispy and delicious and the Korean BBQ (beef) was so good! The sushi and sashimi was very fresh and I don't recall how much we ended up eating, but it was all excellent. We didn't get the automatic tip charged to us like the previous review. Not sure what that is all about. We also didn't get offered tea, nor did we ask for it.
I have been here 3 or 4 times and I always leave full and happy I came.
I have been going here since it opened - the food is still good, but the restaurant is getting tired. I can still remember when this place opened and have been going at least twice a month ever since. The good is generally good to great and the all-you-can-eat option satisfies even the biggest appetites.
My one complaint this that the owners have done nothing to update the restaurant since it opened. The walls and ceiling are greasy from the indoor barbeques at each table; said barbeques now have to be taped into the 'on' position if you happen to order any of the barbeque options; the restaurant is generally tired looking and is actually starting to feel quite dirty. Should the owners fail to reinvest some of their many profits soon (I have never seen this place less than 3/4 full), I may have to find another regular sushi place.

AlwaysSatisfied. I've been here a few times. On my first visit, I was surprised by the layout and thought the unfinished wood and crowded setting was a terrible omen. I was soon to change my mind.
The service is always friendly here. If you like selection and something unusual, I recommend you come here. Not a great place to bring a first date but amazing for a friendship or established couple. Keep in mind you need to make sure one of you is in the mood to BBQ!!!
Well worth a visit if you are extremely hungry and looking for somewhere different.
I like it. Been coming here for years. THis place remains my go-to location for sushi (and BBQ). I have always found the sushi here to be quite compariable to any of Calgary's more expensive sushi places...and you can't beat the All You Can Eat price.
Some people have complained that this place is too busy. Although I have never had any issues with being seated quickly and receiving great service...the fact that they are busy I believe is also a positive. The chefs are constantly creating sushi, so every bite I have ever enjoyed at this place has been very fresh tasting.

AYCE! one of my go to's. I personally really enjoy the AYCE sushi here, isn't too far from where I live and the sashimi pieces are a lot bigger than other restaurants. Staff is always friendly, service is a little slow during dinner time which is expected. The sushi is okay, I mainly go for the sashimi and bbqing. Been here a few times and will continue going.
Close to work so I had to try this place in spite of mixed reviews. Ordered tuna and salmon sashimi and a spicy tuna roll for takeout. The server said it would take 10 minutes, and it did. She seemed to be the only server there though and it was lunch hour. She was literally running from table to table. My food was delicious and I appreciated the soy sauce in a cup with my takeout. Maybe frustration with this place could be remedied with more staff.
Dinner for Two AYCE. Although riddled with small mistakes the overall meal we had here was enjoyable and we left full! Our initial water order was delayed and never again refilled. Dessert came before the rest of the items but we got everything we ordered pretty quickly. Service started off really well but declined as it got busier. Great Salmon Sashimi for AYCE. I recommend the Firecracker and the Spicy Salmon Avocado Roll. In short, good place, good food and OK service! I'd eat there again.
Not as bad as I was expecting. I have been very skeptical about this place because of all the bad reviews, but it's closer to home so I decided to give it a try.
The good: The food was A LOT better than the Macleod location. The sashimi was fresh and tasty, the miso soup actually tasted like miso soup, the rolls were neat and had proper rice and filling, the BBQ was fresh, the fried foods came out hot, and dessert was light and not too sweet.
The bad: Very slow service. We had to wait more than an half hour for two cokes. Our grill was also quite dirty, there was a significant amount of little burnt flakes on our food but nothing we couldn't scrape off.
Overall I was happy with the food and okay with the service as no one gave us attitude. I will be back for the yummy food!
I read the reviews before going so was a bit wary about the service. We were a group of 6 on a Saturday night around 8 without any reservations.
Service - We were seated within 10 minutes. Our waiter was friendly and explained how everything works. Using the menu and order form we chose a bunch of items and the food started coming in 10 minutes (took about 20 mins for our entire order to come out). We ordered 3 different times and received what we ordered promptly. Our waiter was attentive and helpful with our questions.
Food - Wide selection of dishes. Sushi quality was good with some rolls being excellent while others just okay. The sashimi was fresh. Bbq meats were marinated well and fun to cook.
Ambience - Clean restaurant with modern and simple decor. Nice, quiet atmosphere.
Overall we had a good experience and for $25 the quality, selection and service were great. I would definitely come back and will recommend it to family and friends.
Went here for the all you can eat dinner. For the price and quality of this resturaunt it was well worth it. The service was excellent and the food quality was top notch. Everything was fresh and delicious.

I have never been disappointed by either the food quality or service.
They are always busy which is indicative of a successful business and a quality product.
It is always best to make a reservation to avoid disappointment, again reflective of the popularity of this restaurant.
They remember our names and we always feel appreciated as customers.
I recommend this place to all my friends and make it a habit to visit often.
Also, the price is a real bonus for a winning night out.

Good, but had a VERY bad experience there.. I think the Macleod Sushi & BBQ restaurant is kinda modeled after this one. It's good, I really like it. I have had one VERY bad experience here however, my friend and I came to eat by ourselves and we were starving so we ordered a whole bunch of sushi on our first order and about half of it came. We waited about 20 minutes just to be sure and nothing came, so we went ahead and ordered more. We just barely finished everything on the table and were literally about to explode, when all of the sudden the waitress puts down a plate of sushi FROM OUR FIRST ORDER, which we had sent in about 40-50 minutes ago. I remember it was from our first order because there were 4 cones on this plate and a whole bunch of sushi. We asked the waitress about it and she said "that it probably got backed up and just came out now", we thought that this was absolute BS because it doesn't take about an hour to bring out a plate of sushi when we've been getting our other orders the whole time. We would have insisted that we weren't going to pay extra, but my friend spilled water all over the sushi so we ate as much of it as we could and paid for all the sushi we didn't finish. Despite that BS, I still went back for a couple of visits, obviously being more careful after that, and the service was really good. Definitely my #2 choice for AYCE in Calgary!

This place is really good! Unlimited sushi, tempura, korean bbq, and lots more for $25. It was truly worth the money I paid since I bet I ate worth more than that! The BBQ beef and short ribs were really delicious and the sushi was good too. My advice to anyone coming here for dinner is to be there at 5 or else you wouldn't be able to get a table, calling and reserving earlier would be a good alternative too. I'm definitely coming back more often since SAIT is right across the street.
Good value. Went to Sushi BBQ Inn yesterday, for about the millionth time. It's been one of our favorite places for years, for the all-you-can-eat sushi and korean BBQ option. Eat tons of good, fresh food for $25 per person. BBQ at the table is fun. Cheap, cheerful, everyday goodness.
Not bad, I used to spend same amount for less sushi/sashimi in other restaurant, not spectacular though. Service is good but they tend to ignore you around fifth order or so.
Don't love the sushi, pretty basic style and selection and the service is hit and miss. However, the fish is always fresh, the place is always buzzing, and the prices cannot be beat!
Quality has been going down slowly, but still, I find myself eating my worth and enjoying it.

Excellent. We had a fantastic time! We arrived just before 5 and were one of the first people in. The restaurant was full in under 20 minutes. Food was excellent(for an AYCE) and fast! The staff was friendly and checked in on us at least once every five minutes. Our orders came out really quick, our teapot was always full and every time we ordered we were promptly given our next order sheet!
You can only order one sashimi order (3 nice big slices) per adult at a time but that was lots.
Overall, will definately be going back!
Great service! Great Food. The Spicy Tuna and Oyster is to die for. It is my first time today and we were served by 2 wonderful servers. We made sure to finish it because we were told we would get charged for the leftover. It gets a little bit busy on the weekend, so make sure to make a reservation. We waited for 35 min, but it was worth it.
Some people here doesn't get how ALL YOU CAN EAT works and try to vent it out in such childish manners. Complaining about 10% tip?...boy oh boy... even for non existant service I still tip 10% for takeout.
Very solid for an all you can eat. The spicy sashimi is very good, and the bbq yourself meat is very nicely marinated. I have never had a problem with service there either and eat there at least 2 times a month.
Great Sushi. The Food is great, the servers remember us and the grill in the center of the table is great in the winter as it keeps us warm. I do not like that lunch time is not cheaper, that would probably bring in more customers. Fast service and a nice variety of items.
Decent sushi... Especially for all you can eat. I don't recommend the smoked salmon sushi... no flavor, to chincy with the salmon, but really great food. Love they combine sushi and korean bbq, I go here about 2-3 times a year with friends... Service is very good, although sometimes slow on the water... but sushi comes quick! That's the important thing, right?
I didn't mind the food, but I won't be back. Minimum two people for AYCE. Screw you.

Always a Great Time. Most evenings they're super busy, and the doorway is just jam packed. But, if you call ahead by about 30mins, they can get a table reserved for you, so you can skip the line when you get there. A lot of people have mixed reviews about this place, but I love it. All-you-can-eat sushi AND korean barbeque? Its the perfect combo. I've never had an issue with the service, or the quality of food I've recieved. We always enjoy ourselves and the food especially. Its a great time, and for what they offer, I think its reasonably priced too.
A Gem. I'm not sure what place the negative reviewers are eating but it can't be a Sushi BBQ Inn. While it is a cheap version of sushi, it's always fresh and the service has always been superb. It's a favorite for my group of friends as it's cheap, fun to use the grill, and has a great easy going atmosphere to talk and eat.
The food has always been good, the staff are quick and good at their job. We have not sat for more than a few minutes without a staff member checking to see if we need anything yet they do not interrupt if they are not needed. We have yet to be charged for anything we did not eat and we have at times gone over the 2 hour time limit during all you can eat without a problem.
All in al, this is a wonderful place to take a group of friends for a casual and fun meal.

Average food, very good service. We had the all you can each Sushi, Sashimi, Korean BBQ, Tempura, Teriyaki Meats/Fish, Miso Soup, Tapioca Milk, Salad.
There are only two kinds of Sashimi, Tuna and Salmon. There is a third kind called "Spicy seafood" or something which is actually raw salmon marinated in some kind of Korean sauce. It is good.
There is a good selection of Maki and Cone Maki as well as Udon (Noodle) and fried fare (Dumplings, Tempura, and Chicken).
For $22.95 you are entitled to Hoover up as much as you can in 2 hours. The menu says that you are limited to one order of Sashimi but that is not enforced, since nearby competitors have opened the Sashimi floodgate.
The two servers we had were very courteous and professional, and the Sushi Chefs were friendly.
Each order is small enough for one person to enjoy but big enough for 2 two share. When you order Tempura you get two shrimp and two vegetable Tempuri.
You must eat everything you order, or your bill will be charged for what you do not eat. Uneaten Sushi rice is counted as Sashimi for the purpose of extra billing.
I think I am going to just go to a good Sushi Restaurant next time I need a Sushi fix. Sure we ate a lot of Sushi and Korean BBQ meats, but it was "all you can eat Sushi" (and Meat) and that will never be comparable with a higher end meal.
Mind you Sakana Grill in Crowfoot charges full prices for the same level of quality (except after 10:00) so I guess if you want a good deal on "All you can eat" before 10:00pm (9:00pm on some nights) go to Sushi BBQ Inn. If you want a Love Boat treat later in the evening, the "happy hour" prices at Sakana in crowfoot will yield similar fare for a similar price. I would say we ate more at Sushi BBQ Inn for slightly less dollars though. But the Decor at Sakana in Crowfoot is slightly better.
Both establishments have been at odds with the health inspector in the past, and Sakana in Crowfoot has been shut down by CHR Executive order in the past.

Good Service. I don't really know what everyone on here is talking about, but I find the customer service to be amazing, especially on days where they're crazy busy.
They servers would constantly check on my party and myself every 5-10 mins to refill my drink, collect dishes or to take our next round of food.
They made the sashimi unlimited, so its a good deal.
Try the baked oysters, it takes a while to get addicted, but when you're hooked, you'll find yourself ordering 10 for yourself...every round
Service isn't great but the food is good. The service at this all-you-can-eat Sushi place isn't the greatest.... you will very often not get what you order with no explanation, or end up with plates for forgotten food showing up as you are leaving and after you have paid your bill, but the food is good. It isn't top-of-the-line sushi, but it's good, fresh and tasty. I highly recommend the unagi and the smoked salmon - both are favourites. The in-table Korean BBQs are fun too.
I'm not really a sushi fan but, the BBQ and the tempura is really good. But, it is expensive... very! There is also no all you can drink! If you got some money then this would be good!
