This hidden little joint has amazing sushi and sushi deals. We came here last night where they offered 99 cent sushi for their Friday and Saturday specials. They also offer an AYCE menu from Monday to Thursdays as well. I came here thinking it was another regular sushi place but after I left with a smile based on their food and service. The lady that served us was nice and checked up on us regularly. I had the chance of trying their Kim Chi salad which was absolutely delicious. This had a good mix of greens, pickled radish and sesame seeds. It had a tangy and slightly sour taste but overall the flavors went together. We also ordered the 99 cent sushi which applies to their nigiri sushi only. Still this was an excellent deal as they had a vast selection of seafood (fresh) to choose from. The rice was not heavy either which I appreciated. Overall, great experience and would highly recommend.
I went into the restaurant in the evening on a weekday and there was no other people besides my company and I. The service in my opinion was excellent, as the waitresses that served us were friendly and nice throughout the whole time we were there at the restaurant. The waitresses did not keep asking if we were finished with our order and we did not feel rushed to finish our food. The restaurant gives a generous amount of ginger and wasabi to accompany the sushi. There's ramen, udon, rice dishes, sushi and etcetera offered. The food we ordered, came in a timely matter. The food we ordered which was some of the sushi and tempura ramen, was delicious. The restaurant's interior looks nice on the inside, with the white comfortable seats and black chairs. The washrooms are well kept and look stylish.
This place was pretty good with a lot of fresh items. I can especially appreciate the salmon sashimi that was on a bed of ice chips which made it taste that much fresher.
The seaweed salad was decent though it was mixed in with other items to make it seem bigger than it was.
The tuna tataki was great and so were some of the rolls.
The real impressive point on my visit was the washroom. It was very well renovated with a private stall / room which I'm sure makes all patrons very comfortable.
Sushi Sushi boasts a stylish and clean interior along with good food and service. With big TV's and a bright atmosphere, this place is ideal for groups on the smaller side, since the restaurant isn't huge. Coupled with (very) reasonably priced plates, this place shows lots of promise to be a favourite for people in the North. It's a little far for me, so I don't see myself coming too often, but for anyone who lives up North, this place is definitely worth a visit.
Decent quality of sushi for 1.35 a piece from Sunday to Thursday for the weekly special. You are paying less but getting more of a piece of sushi than an average Japanese restaurant offer in Calgary: the fish is twice of the size of the rice, which is still a good bite size. The highlighted sushi is Salmon with cheese as the chef grill the surface of the salmon and it melts together with the cream cheese inside your mouth, which is our favourite. This is our to-go Japanese restaurant when we crave for sushi and our bills are usually around 40 bucks with 25-28 pieces of sushi and that's full for the two of us. For Wednesday the restaurant has a special of 10.95 for all the rolls, while the other sushi places usually charge for 14-16 for the same roll. The rolls are good quality and the size are decent too.
We’re slowly going to work our way through the menu at Sushi Sushi. Tonight, we didn’t go hog-wild crazy and had tea instead of Sapporo, so our bill was a decent $40 and we walked away stuffed. At $1.35 for sushi, we got 6 each, an appetizer and a noodle dish to share. Sake (salmon) – a simple but classic salmon. Good, but I prefer the sake with cheese or the smoked sake
General impressions of the restaurant are that it is quite dark inside also not very large which to be honest I think is better for it.
Service was average as our orders were taken in alright time and food to table time was a little long.
The sushi pieces are quite large and the quality I would say is a little better than the Calgary standard.
We were craving sushi and after our experience at the new and busy Kinjo went back to our standby. We like that Sushi Sushi is small, quiet and serves really good sushi for a pretty good price. It turns out their sushi sale is back – $1.35 for sushi Sunday through Thursday. Their sushi comes with the smallest pile of rice and the largest chunk of fish I’ve ever seen. A totally awesome deal for $1.35!
Been here few months ago with friends. I'm very impressed about the house roll serving for 8 pieces I believe it's about $13. Also the fried rice during lunch hours was really good. Can't wait to come back .
Big portion of fresh sushi & sashimi. Delicious grilled fish head for the serious foodies. All at a reasons price! The service is fast and friendly.
If you’re in the mood for sushi, they have it on sale for $1.25 a piece (with a few exceptions) for the summer. We were impressed with the size of the fish for the price – probably the biggest we’ve ever seen – and a relatively small piece of rice (which was nice, so you don’t totally fill up on carbs).
I’ve recently tried a new Sushi restaurant in the NW part of the city. It replaced another Sushi restaurant that closed. Sushi Sushi is located in the complex on the opposite side of TNT SuperMarket and Canadian Brewhouse. My girlfriend invited me for lunch on a Monday afternoon because they have specials on their sushi (Monday & Tuesday) for $1.25. Unfortunately I did not bring my camera that day to take some pictures of the lunch dishes. We did order quite a bit of sushi ranging from: Salmon, Tuna, Yellow Tail, Mackerel, Special Scallop, Unagi & a few more. That was all we ate. We did 2 rounds of orders. The sushi was very fresh and they did not give you a lot of rice, which was a bonus because it would make me super full.
this place unexpectedly impressed me! their sushi pieces were HUGE and realllly delicious, only for a little over a $1/ piece which is AMAZING. Even my dad, who is really picky with sushi, liked this place a lot. They have a good selection of sushi, I love the smoked sake (salmon) and sake with cheese THEY WERE BOMBBB. I also got the special, which was a cold chicken ramen for like $6.25.. i wasnt sure if id like it at first but it had a really korean-like taste and kinda reminds me of bibimbap so i am glad i tried it. my brother had the teriyaki don and he said it wasnt bad either, it comes with a soup and salad, so its defs better than your EDO Japan sorta deal.. the staff were also friendly. i'll definitely come back and i would recommend this place to others who want to have sushi somewhere nearby (since its right by the T&T by harvest hills)
This is the second time i have been to sushi sushi. I first heard of this place from a friend who invited my to lunch because i believe on Tuesdays and Wednesdays they have lunch special on sushi pieces $1.25. We ordered a bunch of sushi and it was really fresh and tasty. They didn't give you too much rice either which was a bonus, because that usually fills you up.
Last night i went back for dinner. We ordered a sushi/sashimi platter, udon noodles and 2 rolls. That was really filling. I must add in that the price is very reasonable for a sushi restaurant. Most places i find are very expensive.
I enjoyed my udon noodles. The brother was flavorful and not too spicy. The sashimi and sushi were good as well.
The service was awesome as well. :)

Great experience - this may become a new favourite!. Three of us went in for lunch today and ordered an array of items including Salmon Nigiri, Grilled Mushroom Nigiri & Gunkan with Crabmeat. A Flaming Battle Roll, a Maki Dragon Roll, and one other giant roll (topped with strawberries; forgive me for not remembering the name) rounded out the meal incredibly generously. No one wants dinner.
The salmon slice was enormous and perfectly fresh, the (king oyster) mushroom was admittedly difficult to bite but the marinade/earthiness was great, the crabmeat although being real crab was the most pedestrian.
The Flaming Battle Roll was gorgeous; spicy but not too much so (the waitress came to check if it was too hot). The asparagus stalk running down the middle added a terrific crunch and the presentation was memorable. The second roll that was topped with strawberries was the most visually dynamic; the berries adding a subtle sweetness to the spicy sauce. Of the three rolls, the Maki Dragon Roll was the plainest, but altogether lovely. It's difficult to stand up to the other two!
Between us we debated each others favourite and left contented feeling the flavours were diverse yet complementary. We'd all re-order the menu items again, albeit trying new ones first.
Sushi-Sushi IMO is a vast improvement over the previous tenant and one I'll be frequenting again. Awesome addition to my close-by restaurant scene.

Wakame Salad. Good salad is a great start to a sushi lunch
Good price and portions, nice and clean renovations. The prices seem reasonable and gives you good portion for the ramen noodles (non-soup). We tried the 12 sushi combo, a few rolls, gyoza, and tempura shrimp. All the raw sushi were fresh and well presented. The rice on the rolls could be made a bit stickier but other than that it tasted great. The pan friend gyozas and tempura shrimps were made perfectly. The atmosphere was good and the place is clean with friendly service. Was hesitant to try this place due to a 58% rating at the time but glad we did. This restaurant will definitely be added to my list of go to sushi. Comparable to the higher end sushi restaurants in Calgary but without the premium price. Keep up the good work guys!
World of Difference from the previous sushi restaurant in that building!. My boyfriend and I were in the area yesterday and I had a hankering for sushi. He had been there before when it was called something else and had different owners and said it was a very dirty place (dress shoes stuck to the floors they were so sticky) so I had low expectations going in but we were so hungry. Pleased to say I was pleasantly surprised! The restaurant was clean, the staff attentive, and the sushi plates themselves were delicious (we ordered the combo plate of 40 pieces for $45)! The large & thick slices of fish and size of the rolls are what you would expect if you were having sushi in Vancouver, and as such we couldn't finish what we ordered (which is uncommon for Calgary as the slices of fish are usually so small and/or very thin).
Good food with large portions. I really like this place. they have some interesting choices along with the staple sushi options. maybe I just go when it's not busy but the service had always been great. they brought our did out so we never say without food.
I would say it's better than average and the score on here seems crazy low for the reviews it's received.
