Ordered the beef sate pho and grilled beef & shrimp vermicelli bowl. Good flavors, nice sized portions and very fresh ingredients. The restaurant is clean and service was fast and attentive.
So far I could really recommend this place. I've been here plenty more of times. I've to some other vietnam resto but I keep coming back to this place. The food is extravagant, Vermicelli noodle soup is just so yummy and perfect. shrimp roll and the sauce is so good same as all the dishes..
I just wish they will put more soup on vermicelli noodle soup.
Great vermicelli bowls! Good value for money in portions and the shrimp are cooked perfectly. Their service is prompt and friendly. Will definitely be back.
Restaurant was clean and well lit. Service was friendly. For a Wednesday night the restaurant was busy, service was still quick. Had the beef vermicelli noodle bowl and was it delicious. We had #4 and #5 for appetizers. The shrimp appetizer was awesome, crisp and fresh. Will go again when back in Calgary. Excellent experience and price seemed reasonable.
One of the better Phos in the NW Calgary. Quick service and probably top bun bo que in Calgary. They aren't open on Tuesday which is strange. But over all not bad if you can only eat in this area.
One of the most decent pho restaurants in the NW. Usually a full house and a short wait around peak hours.
The workers and owners are fairly friendly. Some of my go-to soups here is the pho sate, bun bo hue and bo kho.
If I wasn't that impatient when I'm hangry, I definitely would come here more often!

Xin chao HOOMAN! If there is a meal that I inexplicably crave at least once a week, it's pho. I experience withdrawal symptoms like I've just been re-animated after a carbonite freeze!Time and again, Pho Van is the pho I'm looking for. I always attempt to try other locations, but on the whole, Pho Van hits all the right notes! It can be argued there are better spots NE and SW Calgary, but I believe this is my NW spot. (Please suggest otherwise!)The dynamic duo, Spring Rolls and Pho Special, can be considered my staple diet! And they are particularly delicious here. The spring rolls crispy without being burnt and seasoned well. The smaller pho size always leaves me satisfied and I always regret it when I order the larger size or extra noodle. The broth is good and I request chili oil (sate) on the side for dipping. Service is typical Asian no-nonsense (maybe North American rude) but it's a culture thing. When It's not busy the staff is very friendly and will strike up sincere conversations. Don't be deterred by others reviews, you'll pho get about it!
Good pho place in the NW, very decent food. Love the vermacelli and Vietnamese iced coffee! Always busy here, good place to stop by. Service is good, and the pho is good
The best bubble tea and the pho is really good too. I think it's the best pho in the NW, prices aren't too bad.
one of my favourite pho places in the NW! the service here is always fast and friendly. they recognize us when we arrive and seat us either right away or as soon as a table frees up.
I tried the BBH and it was spicy but tasty and the #49. the broth is super tasty even till the very end.
i love cilantro too which is a bonus because they give you alot in the soup and i dont need to ask for more.

Best Vermicelli bowl I have had in Calgary. We ordered for pick up at 6 pm on Mothers Day. Our order of 3 vermicelli bowls, prawn salad rolls and spring rolls was ready for pickup in 15 minutes. The serving was so large I was the only one able to finish their bowl . Noodles were perfect, vegetables were crisp and very fresh. Salad and spring rolls were excellent, the side peanut sauce had nice kick of heat. Pricing was very competitive. Best Vietnamese food I

Quick service, food was reasonably priced with good value. The service is extremely transactional and in some cases self-serving. I would go here if I am looking for decent Vietnamese food and don't care much about service or ambience.
Nice place, did take out though. Ordered the #28 grilled beef spring rolls vermicelli and the wife got same but chicken both were tasty!! I would go back for sure!
Pretty good. I ordered take out, the first time here. I judge a Vietnamese restaurant by its vermicelli because I know what to expect. It was pretty good after adding the fish sauce and hot sauce. The noodles were kinda clumped together but I can't blame them, as it was take out so they were sitting in Styrofoam for 15 minutes. The prawn salad rolls were pretty good too... a little more noodles and a little less cilantro than I'm used to, but the sauce was one of the best I've had. I will definitely go back and eat in the restaurant.
Best pho in our area hands down. I wouldn't say best in the city though. But for where we are, my husband and I frequent here to satisfy the cravings! Super clean, friendly staff and broth is yummy.

Three times' the charm. We're very happy we got to try this place through a friend's recommendation. We've been here three times so far and plan on coming back again - soon!
The food
1. The noodles in the pho and vermicelli were cooked just right - not soggy at all.
2. The salad rolls were fresh and the shrimps were still warm! The nuc mum was flavourful. Husband: I swear they just rolled them up! None of the pre-made sh!t!
3. The spring rolls were hot, crispy, and flavourful.
4. Agree with the other post on the dishware type. Ceramic is definitely better.
5. Garnishes are fresh!!
6. We thought that the prices were fair considering the quality of the food and the speediness of the service. Even cheaper than Saigon Pearl with better quality of food. We also noticed when the owner (?) comes out to chat with patrons, the food still comes out of the kitchen at a steady pace.
The service
1. We were definitely impressed that the drinks came before the food and that the food ALL came out at the right time (apps -> main dishes) and at the same time. No getting the apps & drinks AFTER the main meals were brought out. Nothing is more frustrating than one person in the party still waiting for food - T.Pot is terrible for that even though I love their food.
2. Food came out fast, but not too fast. At most a 10 minute wait for the main meals.
3. The chopsticks are put into it's own sleeves. What a great service to their patrons. No more gross, unhygienic people touching my chopsticks!!
Ambiance is very nice. The place is very small but is tastefully decorated. Neutral colours and easy on the eyes. No tacky decors on walls/tables. This place fills up fast, but the speedy service helps clear the queue quick.
Note
1. Seems like all the bad reviews came from pre-2013. It's either under new management since 2013 or they've read the reviews online and decided to change their ways.
2. The previous post about Pho Van copying Pho Thanh. Who cares if it seems like they copied everything. If they can rock it (and that they do), I repeat, who the heck cares? Pho is pho is pho.
This is my go to phở restaurant in my area. It's not the best phở in town but it suffices. And the restaurant is clean. I hope they keep it that way. I'll keep coming back if they do!
Food is good. Always looks clean and fresh compared to other pho joints. Hate how small it is though but nonetheless nice place to enjoy.

Best Pho in the NW. I really don't know what people are complaining about. It's one of the best Pho in the NW period.
1) Pho is served hot on a ceramic bowl (not the cheap plastic ones)..
2) Broth is CLEAR, not murky or dark looking like most places
3) Garnish is fresh when served. How many times you been to a pho place where the garnish (bean sprouts, basil, lime..etc) comes out limpy, unwashed, looks dirty!!?, not this place! Always fresh looking, washed and clean!
4) Taste is balance, not too much noodle to over over power the broth, a hint of beefy taste with a good amount of star anise!!!
5) Service is fast, once you order, it comes out in less than 5-7mins..
6) They make the best Bo Kho noodle soup!!!! ... this will be an upgrade to Pho if you dare to try it!!!
This is why this place makes it to the top of the best Pho in Calgary, probably up there with Pho Dau Bo and Basil... My only complain, this place is way too small, it needs to be bigger!!!
Best Pho in a long, long time..!!!. Brand new Pho restaurant so I dropped in for a try. I am so glad I did, the Pho was the best I have had in years since the boom of Vietnamese restaurants on 17th Ave back in the late 90's.
I had the house special Pho (large #9) sooooo good. I have been back two times since, can't get enough.
Some growing pains with service, but they are already improving.
Others must like it too, place was full..!!! Check it out..
Great new place. Here's a new pho place in the country hill/harvest hills area. Awesome soup, decent prices and great service. I'll be sure to blog about this place the next time i'm there, in the mean time, it's worth checking out and trying. They are much better that the pho place next to T&T and the one by Sobeys.
