My favourite pho place in Calgary! I am a vegetarian and I am so happy that Pho Binh Minh has absolutely delicious options. My favourite is the vegetarian Bun Bo Hue, which is not available at most pho places as a vegetarian option. The broth for the Pho Chay is also spot on! There are some inconsistencies with the amount of toppings as there are sometimes a wide variety and a large amount and other times there are not as much, but I am just grateful for the delicious veggie broth. Also reasonably priced, good portion size, and short wait time.
An OG Pho place in the hood of 17th, it's a diamond in the rough but the pho is worth it. Service is mediocre, I come here when I am in the area!
My small pho would be a good size for a child. The meat was served pink. The portion of meat was a little scanty. Not too spicy, broth had a subtle spice to it that hit your throat. The clear broth had a slightly tart taste to it, flecked with drops of oil. I was informed by my friend Asian Persuasion that the noodles are homemade. I couldn’t detect the difference.
Yet another pho restaurant on 17 Ave SE. However, Binh Minh is one of the best selections here. I still love the pho at Pho Dau Bo, and the best bun bo hue is at Song Hong (all these restaurants are also on 17 Ave), but Binh Minh is also a front runner. Piping hot broth, lots of fresh veggies to go into your bowl and cheap prices.
Binh Minh is legit hood pho. Hood pho is the best pho. Pho sho.
Now in all seriousness, this is truly one of the best spots for pho in Calgary. Big portions, delicious broth. It's fast and the price is right.
They also have the regular alternatives like rolls and vermicelli but they have several other dishes as well like a delicious curry that comes with a fresh baguette.
Definitely try this place if you like the real stuff. Don't bring your snobby aunt, tho.
The food has always been excellent, service prompt (although there was this one time a waitress rudely took away my satay jar in the middle of a meal). Soup base for Bun Bo Hue has yet to disappoint. I particularly enjoy the piece of pork hog in every bowl, slightly crunchy and definitely a hit every single time.
It's a must go for quality food.
The service is quick and friendly, the tables and floor were clean, and the food is good. All the things that you would want in a pho restaurant. My brother and I, we both ordered a pho dac biet, and were quite satisfied with the noodles, the hot flavourful broth, and amount of meat it came with.
Bin Minh has been around for a long while and many of my friends enjoy this spot for authentic vietnamese food. My bf had the bun bo hue which he said was pretty good. I like the spring rolls come with lettuce. I usually wrap the lettuce around the spring roll. The pho sate wasn't spicy at all but the broth was flavourful and they give a generous amount of beef!
Favorite pho place. Best pho in calgary hands down! me and my husband are there every week.we just cant stay away!
Good Pho and Pork Chop. The place is nothing to look at (inside and out) but it has some of the best pork chop and Pho around. I go there quiet often with my boyfriend and with my co-workers. The spring rolls are very good and the main dishes are also very good. Don't expect much for service though, it's a typical Vietnamese style restaurant. Meaning you only see your servers when they get the sheet and when they bring your food (meaning there's only a limited amount of times to order). Definitely go there for the food. This restaurant is very popular.
Good. Pho is really good. But the soup can be better as in more taste. The noodles are really cooked perfectly but sometimes my noodles are under cooked. So sometimes mine are just cooked so it is a bit hard but not fully. Sometimes mine is just undercooked where you can feel the noodles are hard. But they should time it to make it just cooked. They can add more noodles for the sizes because i had an X large and didn't have much noodles. But overall good pho.

Best pho joint in yyc. This is my absolute favourite pho/vietnamese restaurant in Calgary. They have a great selection of vietnamese food but their pho is my comfort. The service is average for an asian restaurant and is fairly consistent. Their prices are very cheap! Would recommend this place to anyone.
Best vietnamese in Calgary. I grew up eating authentic pho A LOT and being a born and raised Calgarian, I've tried a whole lot of Vietnamese restaurants. This place is by far the best!! Fast service, excellent pho soup (broth is addicting) and prices are fair. I'm drooling for it now..
Great eats after church. I usually come here with friends or famiy after church to eat, it always seem to be the best pho in the area
Pretty good. I'm missing this place so much as it was fairly consistant when I was living in the area. Hubby recently dropped by and mentioned that it was still pretty good. This is our favorite place to go for viet food.
My favourite viet place with real veggie broth noodles with tofu and veggies! a bit of a dive but delicious and great deal!
I have to force myself to not go there every day. I love this little place, one of my two favourite pho places in Calgary (there's a lot of not-so-good ones out there). Their beef satay soup, best enjoyed with hot sauce and hoisin on the side, comes with lots of beef and has a strong spicy flavour, no weak westernized satay here! I would happily eat this every day of my life.
Love the food :D. I go here all the time for lunch and almost always late back to class but the food is definitely worth it.
Our favourite!. We drive for 20 minutes or more to eat here regularly. The best beef satay soup...beef and broth are the best I have had in Calgary so far. Spring rolls are also amazing! We also buy the broth to do fondue at home. Yum!!!
OK Vietnamese. Not the greatest location, not the best looking interior but the food was good. Many other Vietnamese places around, so they should improve the looks a little bit.
Had a tasty beef stew served with a French baguette. I loved the soft fat bits.

I went there for the first time last week, I thought the food was excellent!! The broth was sooo tasty and the service was quick and friendly! It's rare to get that combination at a Asian restaurant. Most asian restaurants servers seem like they hate their jobs/lives lols!! However the staff at pho Binh
minh were friendly and greeted me like a valued customer.
My friend had wonton noodle soup and she thought it was very good also. I'll be going back there again soon. I highly reccommend this place!
Highly Recommended. If you're looking for delicious food in 17 Avenue with an affordable price, Binh Minh has prices that are fair and cheap, that ranges $6-10 per bowl, and the bowl is not what i call small, but its the right amount.
The staff is friendly and the food comes in really quickly so waiting won't be long.
Enjoyed my first Pho experiance. I went here for lunch today with a college from work as he drove up to Pho Binh Minh. Outside looks like your typical Ma and Pa establishment, and so does the inside quite frankly. The service was really fast I think we got our Vietnamese spring rolls with in a minute of ordering. They were quit light and tasted pretty good for the first time having them. I ordered the Beef well done Pho and you get 3 sizes to choose from small, large, and extra large. I recommend the large size as the XL would be for the very hungry. The soup was really good I was very surprised, you get a large selection to choose from and although the place looked old it was very clean and comfortable.
While everyone has their favourite, I particularly like Pho Binh Minh...the steel pot of unordered Jasmine tea is plunked down on the Formica table almost before my seat hits the chair. A couple of minutes later, my steaming bowl of medium-rare sate beef noodle soup arrives, distinguished from most pho (Vietnamese noodle soups, pronounced “fuh”) by the flavourful beef broth.
