Was pleasantly surprised by this place as I went in not expecting much. Got the stone bowl beef bibimbap and the soy bean soup. Portion size was typical and it tasted good. Nothing to complain about it. Staff was friendly and the place was clean. What I enjoyed most was the fact that they play cooking videos on the TV's you can watch Korean dishes being cooked while you wait for your food to come. They also have the potatoes as a side dish. I have been to a bunch of Korean places in Calgary and none of them seem to have the potatoes when I go and its my fav side dish! Will be back to try other items on the menu, they have a wide variety of items.

Easily the best Korean restaurant in the city.   Since they first opened this restaurant is constantly improving their already wonderful dishes.  I would honestly recommend anything on their menu.  Their staff is knowledgeable.

Solid service. Their is actually good ventilation and you don't smell after leaving the area unlike other Korean restaurants in the city. I got the bulgogi and I was good

Nice to have a Korean restaurant in the north ! The price is quite a bit more then standard Korean places and there isn't really an option for sharing ($89.99 for 3-4 people) it's mostly individual sized bowls (we tried pork hotspot and hot stone bibambop). They come with side dishes (potatoes, kimchi, sprouts and pickled veggies) we could have definitely eaten more and would have loved to have a second round but our servers never came back to check on us. The hot stone bowl had a fried egg on top rather then the raw egg that cooks in the bowl, but it had a lot of flavour and the hot sauce was delicious. We will return again in the future.

Came for a quick lunch here and I ordered 2 items. I ordered their Deep Fried Lotus as an appetizer and for my lunch I ordered Stone Bowl Bibimbap with Beef Bulgogi and it came with four side dishes. The lotus was cold not a hot dish which I was surprised and it was a very small serving for the price. The Bowl was OK the portions were small and not enough sauce in it. The one thing going for them is their home made gochujang hot sauce which was really good! Total cost was about $25 for a bowl and lotus root. The overall service was very friendly and accommodating, waiting staff was great. Overall the price is high for what you get.

Craving for some Korean?  Bowls is the newest spot in the NW that features a spacious room, great staff, and a menu that has pictures for every item.  Very helpful!

Had the Stonebowl which was a great mix of veggies with egg and my chosen meat of beef bulgogi.

The lady had the tofu bibimbap soup which was not spicy at all and the jalapeños were for crunch rather than heat.

The side mini dishes are always good with blanched bean sprout, fresh kim chi and garlic potatoes.

Love the variety.  Definitely coming back ..

Service was lovely - and the addition of a Korean restaurant in the NW is pretty great.  Probably the most magical part was their clearly marked can be made vegetarian dishes!  I have never seen that before - would recommend to anyone who likes, you know, delicious food and being able to go out will all friends regardless of who eats what.

So glad to see a new Korean place in the NW. It was so needed in the NW. I've tried it a couple times. One for lunch and once for dinner. Their have a great lunch special that is pretty par with what you get at other Korean restaurants. They offer different varieties or bugogi, stone bowls etc... For dinner, we had the dinner for 2-3 people. Better come with a large appetite or more people. It can feed about 4-5 people. Btw, it's not cheap but it's good for a night out and again it's korean, it usually not cheap in Calgary. Dinner had soup, white egg bowl (this was the best), seafood pancake, beef, pork, rice, side dishes (they did not charge extra for more). We had the stone bowl and fried squid as a extra add on. All was yummy. The service is so good! The owner kept checking in with us and same with the waitress. Give it a try!

Awesome experience! Servers were very friendly and Food came out hot and ready. was their on friday night. we ordered multiple Korean barbecues and there are no files on them. price was reasonable. Also, they served numbers of side dishes  compare to other Korean cuisines where only serves few. they also have good deals on lunch menu.

Excellent service. Food came out quickly and was tasty. Definitely one of the best Korean restaurants in Calgary. We ordered the seafood pancake to share along with the cold noodle soup and the rice in the hot stone bowl - all 3 dishes were great. We will be back for more!

Was excited to try this new place out with my family! We were excited to have a Korean bbq restaurant in our area.

The food didn't disappoint, but it didn't wow us either.
For the price, I would say it was within normal range but there are cheaper (by a few bucks) Korean BBQ places you could go to.

The chicken wings there were actually quite good! It was crunchy and hot when we got them, and juicy on the inside!

The bibambap was typical of what you would get at a Korean BBQ.

The beef bulgogi was especially favoured at our dinner table, with the pork belly as a close second!

Their seafood pancake was delicious as well, very moist, yummy and put together.

The cold noodles were good, nice and chewy with a good vinegar taste to it. Although, they did place ice cubes in it which made it a little chilly to eat.

Food came out quick, and the service was great! Very friendly!! :) overall, pretty good.

General Thoughts::
My husband and I were really excited when we saw the old establishment gone and replaced by something new and very much needed in the north central area, a Korean restaurant. We visited the restaurant on a Friday night, and we were seated promptly. The decor was very old and used, perhaps remnants of the old establishment, but they were clean and that's very important to a restaurant.

Service:: 5/5
Fantastic! The staff were so kind and friendly. We had our son (10m) with us and not only were the staff very friendly towards my son, they were also very accommodating and understanding. The staff knew to approach us from our other side when placing down the food, even though it was a tad awkward and inconvenient for them, but it was also the safest for our baby. They brought us extra napkins, and played with our baby whenever they weren't too busy so that we could grab a quick bite. We really appreciated the attentiveness and as first time parents, we couldn't have asked for more.

Food:: 2/5
It was a cold night so we opted for the soups. Each soup dish comes with its own rice and side dishes (more on that later). The prices for the soups weren't horrendous and were comparable to other Korean restaurants we've been to. My husband got a pork bone soup while I got the tofu soup. After ordering, the server brought us our side dishes. Normally in other restaurants, rather than giving out 2 sets of each side dish, they would pool the same item onto a larger plate to save room on the table. Well, we were very disappointed at the portion size of our side dishes. We were given essentially a single portion of kimchi, bean sprouts, and 3 small pieces of tofu, all to be split between the two of us. It certainly did not look like we were given the correct portion as the gentleman sitting behind me also got the same portion for just himself. The server asked if we wanted to order more side dishes after we were done. We didn't. The key word in her sentence was order, meaning they're going to charge us an extra $0.50 per dish, as stated in the menu. But enough about the side dish portions and pricing scam, let's go on to the main course. The pork bone soup was mediocre at best, with the soup itself tasting very much like the soup packs you get from instant noodles. My husband enjoyed it but I wasn't a big fan of it. My tofu soup came a little later but the server acknowledged that the food was a bit late and apologized for it so I was fine with it. However, when my soup did come, I was genuinely surprised at how uncaring the kitchen staff were. It came in a piping hot stone bowl that was half filled with liquid,had 6 small cubes of tofu, and a handful of jalapeño. Judging from the condition of the bowl itself, it was clear that the kitchen staff in charge of making this soup didn't keep an eye on this bowl and let it boil over (the exterior of the bowl was very dirty) and salvaged whatever they could and sent it out to be served to the customer, which in this case happened to be me. I ate it anyways because by then, I was very hungry. After I scooped out all the jalapeños, the bowl was 1/4 filled at best with soup and tofu. The soup tasted like how you would imagined, like jalapeños. I filled myself up with rice and was left with a very cheated feeling.

Conclusion:: 3.5/5 .... slightly above average
The only reason why the concluded rating is a 3.5 is because of the superb front end staff working there. From the moment we walked in to us walking out the door, we felt welcomed. The kitchen staff is another story, but we didn't interact with them so we can't give critique them. Generally, I'm a try a new place twice before giving up kind of person. There are still plenty of other dishes on the menu we have yet to try. We read other reviews saying how great their BBQ is so perhaps we'll try that next time before making our final judgement on this place. We did notice that the pricing of the BBQ was substantially higher than other places. As such, we will wait a bit before we make our return visit.

This was an amazing lunch!  I couldn't believe the different tastes that you get with one meal that is only $13!I had a Bento box while the person that I was with got a bowl.  Both of us were impressed with the food quality, price and service.  It's too bad it's so far from where I live as I'd be there at least once a week.

This place is newly opened. There is not even a real sign just a tarp with its name on the wall. It was a takeover from a previously failed restaurant. Inside it was nice, decor was set almost a more upscale, not sure if this was their intention or just reused from the takeover.

Our sides included Kim chi, tofu, bean sprouts and seafood pancake? That was an oddity. The tofu was slightly dry. The Kim chi was spicy, not sour.

The seafood pancake, this was probably my favourite. I had tried another Korean restaurant not long ago and the pancake was horrible. So this was a delight to have it thin, not doughy, and flavourful. Although a lot of onion, probably would have preferred more seafood than the onion. It was good all around. Large serving so think of this before ordering a lot of dishes.

The kimchi tofu soup was good, not the best I've had. Although I felt that the tofu was generic, the broth was flavourful and me and my date enjoyed it. It had some kick to it but was not spicy. My date cannot eat spicy food and this she enjoyed.

The unagi was served on a hot plate. Although I felt was not really that hot? It was tender, it was moist, the flavour was not too sweet. It was a teriyaki sauce if I remember correctly. I would hope this came out a bit more hot and the unagi a bit more flaky.

I took some video of the food however zomato has not allowed us yet to upload video. So I am missing some dishes to show you.

Overall this place was tasty, some more than others. Again, maybe not my first choice to go too again, but I wouldn't mind trying it again to see if there were any changes made and to try other dishes.
