A restaurant with quality customer service and authentic Chinese dishes. The red shallot soy sauce chicken, the 2 course fish combo (soup and steamed fish), and all kinds of noodles are definitely my favorite. If you are aiming to have a decent lunch or supper in the Centre Street North area, the China Palace Restaurant is a place for you!
If you live in thorncliffe, or are in the area or just literally feel like trying a new Chinese restaurant I would recommend trying this place. We ordered 5 different dishes (crispy chicken, gai lan & beef, sweet and sour pork chops, salt and pepper squid and beef with onions). Most if not all of these dishes were cooked in a unique style and just tasted damn good with that wok flavor. The crispy chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy, gai lan and beef had fresh vegetables with nice slices of beef, sweet and sour pork chops has lean cuts of meat with a strong flavor of ginger and honey, the beef and onions was amazing where I actually ate the onions, and my least favorite dish was the salt and pepper squid which had seasoning but not as much salt (maybe they made it this way to cut down the sodium intake so it feels like you're not killing yourself). Prices per dish are around 14 each and with big portions. I would definitely come back.
Mainly Cantonese food. Braised chicken was very delicious, if only for that, I could have given 4.5! Eggplant was a bit burnt, otherwise also not a bad choice. I didn't like vermicelli with pickled cabbage and pork though.
The food is good here, crowded and noisy but it gets really busy. I normally go here for dinner. My partner loves their deep fried eggplant. The Peking duck is not the best, the other dishes are pretty good. Real Chinese food served here!
Their lunch food is cheaper and tastes better than dinner. Lots of variety if you're looking for authentic noodle or congee dishes for lunch.
This is one of the chinese restaurants my family and I always go to that does decent authentic chinese dishes. Last night we ordered the set dinner for 6 for $88 and our whole family was impressed with the variety. We upgraded our soup to the soup within a radish (delicious!) and added sweet and sour pork chops. They give you complimentary chinese dessert or fruits if they run out. They could use some reno as the restaurant is quite small. There's never more than 2 servers but they are constantly busy and give good suggestions.
Good food. My family orders take out from this restaurant often (they do NOT deliver). The place is always full of Chinese patrons. Don't order take out if you expect to pick it up in 30 minutes though, we've had to wait up to an hour a few times.
Now, congee is pretty healthy, so we balanced it with some deep fried goodness: crispy Chinese Long donuts.
