I don't find their meat to be salty at all. I think what people are finding to be salty are the pickles in the wrap. I actually find the pickles to be a perfect Touch of salt in my wrap. Service was quick and my wrap was huge for $10. Yummm. Thanks for dinner
Love the food! The place is nice and clean you can tell how fresh everything is the older lady who makes the food is such a sweetheart and the cashiers are nice too this will be my go to when I'm craving Lebanese food!
Love the bite size shwarma. $11.50 for two shwarmas and soup. Doesn't get any better than this. Plus their meat is juicy, not dry as in some of the shwarma places around.
Amazing food. Love the hummus and shish tawook. This location is better than a few others. I love stopping here for lunch during the week and on weekends.
Best donair in the city! I eat here a few times month because it is so tasty. Staff are pleasant & even give me baklava on the house from time to time.
Simply the best!. A friend of mine introduced me to Pita Basket on a lunch break adventure and since then we've been back a dozen times! My favorite is the beef donair, but those desserts are to die for. Always experience fast, friendly service. These guys really have it together, I've seen them moving like humming birds at the height of the lunch rush, nothing slows them down. A well oiled machine pumping out order after order! I would highly recommend this joint to anyone.
If I had one complaint, and I'd really have to nitpick here.. it's when a place prompts you to tip on the debit machine. I'm a firm believer in tipping for good service and a good meal, but being prompted to tip before I've even eaten makes me uncomfortable.

Shared pregnancy cravings. Since becoming pregnant schwarma, donairs, etc are one of my cravings. Since the second month, my dear husband craves it just as much as I do if not more!
Pita Basket is our go to place. Period.
Normally we'll share the bite size shwarma and a pita pizza. The pita pizza is on a thin LARGE pita, meat of your choice, cheese, and tomato, and onions. Oh my goodness! It's beyond wonderful. All the different flavors that just SING in your mouth. This weekend we decided to try something new and shared Chef Ro's Special Donair.
Each bite hailed new rapture from our taste buds. Seriously folks, each bite was amazing, and our mouths just danced happy dances all over the place. Do you know how when you bite into something really good the back of your throat/jawbone area tingle? Almost every bite did that. YUM.
The folks that run/own the cafe are absolutely sweet as can be as well. It's nice to be greeted with a smile and friendly inquiries. They don't know us yet, but we hope they know just how much we love them lol. We'll see you again this weekend i'm sure. The husband can't go to long without visiting.
Don't listen to the nonsense bad reviews here. This place is great, always friendly, big portions, great taste. Their sweet sauce puts the donairs over the top, just right amount of sweetness. I have taken dozens of people from work here. They all love it and want to return.

Amazing! If you visit you must try the Philly Steak, in a pita wrap, it is the best sandwich I ever tasted. My friend bought the chicken shawarma and it tasted amazing as well.
AMAZING!!!!!. Completely and totally the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. We went here once by fluke as we were in the area. I was very skeptical because donairs are my favourite food and we have a place that was our favourite, until we found the pita basket. It didn't take long for this place to eclipse every donair I've ever had in my life. They use fresh home made pitas so they are never chewy or tough. Always fresh ingredients as well. The big kicker though is that on top of having completely amazing food, the staff is so friendly as well. These guys definitely have a passion for food, and know what it means to have great service. On a scale of 1-10 this place gets a 25!

WHOO-HOO!. I've lived in Calgary for almost nine years, and I finally found a Lebanese restaurant that lives up to Edmonton's "Parkallen Pizza" back in its heyday (around the turn of the century). Prices are about what you would expect, but the food's hot, fresh and (today at least) fast. The hummus came to our table with a puffy, piping hot pita that bellowed steam when we ripped it open. The spousal unit had a regular-size falafel wrap, and I had the regular-size chicken shawarma. Excellent! I'll definitely come back again!
Lunch for two, a very filling meal, came to $21.00 with a drink (non-alcoholic, which we shared). We're still so full, all we're having tonight for dinner is a salad...
Awesome Mediterranean Fare. Really tasty. I've tried most things on the menu (except the falafel), and everything has been great. The chicken shawarma plate is especially delicious; it comes with pickled vegetables, rice, tahini, pita, tabbouli (I'm probably forgetting something) and everything goes together so well. The meat pie is really well-balanced and flavourful, especially when matched with a cheese pie. The baklava is rich and buttery. The prices are a bit steep, but worth it.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with Pita Basket and will definitely be a regular.
I have gone to many different places fpr middle eastern food but this place is definately number one on my list. The food is so good the portion size is quite large I think my boyfriend and I will be sharing next time. They make the pitas in the oven right when you order so they are still warm when u eat them. The person working there also gave us an extra pita on the house. Their baklava is really good too.
Quality is what they offer. My brother had been bugging me for some time now about trying the Pita Basket; I finally gave this place a try today. We had the chicken shawarma sandwiches with tahini sauce and I am beyond impressed ! There is a deliciously unique taste to these sandwiches that leaves you wanting more. The employees gave us a generous portion of chicken and a wide variety of toppings to choose from on our sandwiches.
Words cannot express the tastes you'll experience at this place, it is simply amazing. I'll be sure to re-visit in the nearby future because these people have put good effort into their food and as a result earned my patronage ! Well done !
They have really good donairs and grape leaves and shawarmas, food is ALWAYS fresh, sometimes the service can be a little slow when they have a lot of orders to fill but they are VERY friendly
All I had was the chicken Caesar salad, and it was the best I've ever eaten! He came to our table through our meal and gave us free baklava, with a smile and everything. Very happy with this place!
First visit and I ordered a chicken shawarma. The staff were friendly and the food is pretty good. Personally, there is too much salt on the chicken, but that's my taste. I still would pick Jimmy's or Pita queen for flavor, but everything else was ok.
Best mediterranean shawarma place. Most of their food is made fresh \(especially the baked pita) , superb customer service and very clean.
Prices are average but worth every penny...

This place is absolutely amazing !!! They prepare fresh bread right out of the oven with every entree to stay , I love there tender chicken shawarma and shish Tawook , I recommend this place , because rhey have amazing food probably best Lebanese food in Calgary and the have exelent customer service , plus there prices are awsome
Pricey yet good... I find this place very pricy...but there customer service makes me go back there...They have reopened for me ..when I walked in as a last customer..have been honest if I over payed....I get shish tahouk from here....always good..
