Absolutely LOVED my Beef Sate Pho. I ordered it extra spicy and it really had a wonderful kick. The Beef Satay with rice was amazing too. This might be my new go-to vietnamese place in Calgary.
#16 - Chicken Satay Soup. A thing that dreams are made of. The chicken is unbelievable and the broth...omg the broth. It's one of my all time favourite things in this city. All the pho I have had from Co Do is awesome but the satay is my favourite by far. The reason I'm only giving 4.0 is because the peanut dressing that comes with the salad rolls is so watered down and the rolls typically come kind of messy.
I had the wor won ton soup 25e I think. The broth was delicious. Not too salty and very nice flavour. I forgot to take the picture before eating so this was all that was left after I was full (quite a bit so generous portions). It came with grilled shrimp, pork and chicken, tons of noodles (you can see in the second picture that was what was left after I filled the broth to over flowing. For the price - best bang for your buck on 17th ave. Will def order from here again.
Friendly service, reasonable prices, and delicious Pho. Perfect for a chilly fall day on 17th Avenue. Stick to the soup and you won't be disappointed.
It used to be the go to place for Pho in the SW. But over the years and with explosion of Pho Restaurants, I don't go here as often. The food is decent, pricing is okay, so I can't really complain. Environment needs updating/renovating though.
A gem on 17th ave! I ordered their spring roll vermicelli and my partner ordered the beef ball pho and it was ready for us in less than 5 minutes. The service is wonderful and their selection of pho is fantastic and prices are more than reasonable and worth every cent. Decor and lighting are a little dim to my liking but the roominess and spaciousness of the restaurant make up for it.
If you just want some good Viet, this is the place. I have tried a few places around Calgary and always seem to go back to this restaurant. The food has never been disappointing, the service is quick and the staff is friendly. The restaurant is pretty spacious so walk-ins are never an issue.
I cane down to Calgary for a weekend and was overly excited to get some pho as we dont have much in GP. I was planning on going to another place but could not find it. However, I am very happy I came to Co Do; the service was great, prices were perfect, spring rolls with pork were the best I have ever had and their Pho is amazing!!i would highly recommend this to anybody!!
It was the only place still open after 9 on the way home and I was craving some noodle soup. I ordered 16a (peanut satay noodle soup with tiger prawns) and was not disappointed. We got take out that was ready for us in 5 minutes. When I got home I was pleasantly surprised that my tiger prawns had not overcooked sitting in the hot broth for the drive. The prices are very reasonable and it is definitely worth it. Add coconut milk to your satay broth...you will love it!
Great food!. We were in the neighborhood and would like to have Vietnamese food so we went to Codo. The food were great, cheap and huge portion. Great service too. Will definitely come back.
Not my favourite Vietnamese restaurant, but they make a decent bowl of soup if you're in the area.
Service was fast and friendly. I walked in for a take out order and my Sate Beef soup was ready in 5 minutes.
The soup did not live up to what most people have told me about it. The broth was watery, not creamy like I'm used to in Edmonton.
The take out containers did not include a bowl. This disappointed me. Good thing I was taking it home to eat!
I'll go back and try other menu items. I think eating in would be better.
Fantastic. I was a little unsure of this restaurant when we first stumbled across it online - my friends and I were looking for a vietnamese restaurant for take out. We could only find the menu in pictures online (would be nice to have a website) but decided to order anyways unsure of what we were going to get... but it turned out great! I had the tofu and vegetable curry and it was delicious! The spring rolls were also some of the better spring rolls I have had a in long time! Overall - it was a great experience and I would definitely go back!
Years ago, before the beautiful proliferation of Vietnamese cuisine in Calgary, my brother took me to Co Do for my first exposure to this wonderful food. Now I live across the street and eat there bi-weekly! I love the spartan yet warm decor, the friendly staff who all seem to know what I'll order--I love the deep fried pork dumplings and vegetarian spring rolls! I love the pho, but the bun dishes are very good as well. The other soups are good, particularly the deep fried wonton soup with crab, shrimp and a generous assortment of vegetables. For the fast, fresh, healthy and inexpensive dishes, Co Do is a memorable food destination!
Yummy!!. I don't know what it is about this place but I just love their food- it is my go-to vietnamese place! So.darn.good.

Best spring rolls in Calgary and I have tried quite a few!
Okay food. Gets bzzz during lunch time as any other Vietnamese place around DT. Food is okay.
Good, quick, consistent. Co Do is my go-to for vietnamese. Importantly, it never leaves my stomach wishing I hadn't done Vietnamese for dinner, and the flavours are good. Also, it's very fast and I've never waited for a table. All this at good fair prices.
Yumm! So close to home, good food and good prices :)
I can't find anything better. I have to agree with the few people here that have described Co Do as the best they've had in Calgary. This is where I go for pretty reliably good Vietnamese food. I have also occasionally experienced a not-so-great-dish here, maybe 1/10 times that i go - but When I tell them about it and they don't argue or charge me. The service has also always been lightening fast in my experience. The pho and chicken satay, and lemongrass chicken can't be beat by any other of the dozen or so Vietnamese restaurants I've eaten at in Calgary. Co do is the only one I've ever returned to.
One of My Favourites. They do a very good Beef Sate Pho. Lots of fresh mint, and all the fixings to accompany a healthy portion of beef, cooked in a delicious broth. One of my go to pick up places on 17th, when I'm feeling too lazy to cook at home.
Pretty good. Very nice! I ordered satay beef - rich velvety peanut broth and not at all spicy. The noodles perfectly cooked in that it firmness to it. The sprouts and basil were fresh, and I liked how the basil cooks in the broth like spinach, which adds further depth to the soup. Nice cuts of beef, though not a lot of it. The portion isn't huge by any means, but a nice manageable portion. I also liked how clean the utensils and tables were kept - too many pho places (at least from my experience in BC) are way too grimy. The springroll vermicelli bowl was a bit bland.
This place is pretty good!! but every menu item is about $2 more then my favorite veit place (Pho veit noodle house on 17th ave and 37th street SW) but same quality food and I'll always go here if I don't have time to go to 37th!
Great restaurant. Best Vietnamese restaurant item 12a & 25e
The soup isn't too salty. Pretty decent considering the price. Comparable to Vancouver pho.
Yum. Go for the 28a. Pork & spring rolls on vermicilli. Pho is great too. Medium is plenty big enough for lunch. Quick & friendly. Definite favorite
Velly Nice. As with most Vietnamese, I LIKE!!!!! Food is quick and fresh. A little pricey and they don't just offer Hoi-Sin, nor do they give you very much of it when you ask....which I do not like when they do that because if you were SITTING IN you could have as much as you want - it's on the freaking table!!!!
High Traffic Delight. Situated on one of Calgary's busiest streets, this small Vietnamese restaurant is almost always filled to capacity. Much to my annoyance, this restaurant has targeted its niche market appropriately charging for items like jasmine tea and reducing its portions to much smaller quantities. This frugality would deter future visits from me if the restaurant hadn't redeemed itself by serving me an amazing bowl of pho. So despite my few minor complaints, Co Do has perfected the art of pho.
Very good. We love getting a nice healthy vietnamese once and a while and this is out spot. very quick and friendly. Great service.
The Best on the Strip. We started going to Co Do just after it opened almost ten years ago. And we've been back an average of once a week since. They serve the best Vietnamese in the city, in our mind anyway. Variety is huge, flavours are amazing. It can get pretty busy and seat a lot of people. But they do a great job of bringing your food in a timely manner. One thing though, if you're waiting for them to bring your bill to the table you'll wait a long time. The owner prefers patrons to pay at the counter.
Co Do is one of our favorites simply because we both love Sate Beef Pho, and Co Do does that dish extremely well. Unlike some of the more milky or oily broths that other Vietnamese restaurants serve, Co Do’s Beef Sate is clean and refreshing, with a spice
