Nice casual dining with screens and beer on tap.
They recently switched to dedicated gluten free fryers. So pretty safe choice. Food menu is limited but decent variety. I enjoyed the kettle chips, chicken wings last time. The fish and chips are good as well as the calamari (non traditional) I heard (I could not eat them as not GF).
Good neighbourhood place.
The Food was really good! Really liked the place! Loved the atmosphere..it was a wonderful experience! Definitely recommend it. We went at a busy time so parking was a bit annoying.
Food was great and cocktail was good. I was recommended the Springtime in Paris and it taste good...........................................
So I play CSSC ball on this snazzy team dubbed the Rad News Beers and every Thursday post game we head out to a nearby eatery for some snacks and beers. A couple games ago we were in the Kensington area so it was the perfect opportunity to check out the new restaurant and legion everyone is talking about.
We stopped by the 1918 for dinner tonight, and we were not disappointed. The lamb linguine, chicken and polenta, and the barley and pea risotto were great. Our fourth had the burger, and said it was good, but he thought they were trying too hard to be different.
I really liked the space, and the concept behind the restaurant. Great to have such a good place to eat that is close to home.
Heard about 1918 Tap and Table's concept and thought it would be great to support our veterans. The restaurant is newly renovated with a combination of rustic elements of wood flooring, brick walls with modern elements of large floor to ceiling windows - it's a great open and welcoming space.
We ordered:
-Honey Glazed Pork Belly - crispy pork belly over roasted carrot puree with some potato chips on the side $10
-Zucchini Fritters - 3 deep fried fritters per order $9
-Lamb Linguini - braised Alberta lamb shoulder with fresh pasta $18
-Alberta Beef Chuck Burger - tomato jam, cheddar, double smoked bacon, greens $16
-and one cocktail each $10-$12
Total: $72 after tax but before tip
The food was good, the drinks on the other hand, absolutely delicious. It would definitely be worth coming by for their drinks, especially on a hot day out on their patio.
Great new spot in the area! Love having more patios for the summer, and so close to our neighborhood. It is easily accessible, and love the whole interior and design of the restaurant. We first opted for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, and then had a glass of Prosecco. We opted to share the two different flatbreads; the Stampede and the regular one. They were just small enough to share, and quite tasty!
