The broth was really good and the salad rolls had fresh and crisp lettuce! The staff were very friendly, with the added bonus of delicious food! The prices are quite average for a Vietnamese restaurant, with a large bowl of Pho being around $13 or so.
This is just your typical Vietnamese restaurant. My friend and I came here since it was super close to her house. She comes here fairly often and loves the place. I order the grilled pork and spring roll bun (Vermicelli bowl)($10.25). It was good but nothing stuck out about it. The service was good, and they were quick and attentive.
My boyfriend and I go at least once a week for beef satay and it has to be the best that we can find in the northwest. The waiters and owners definitely know who we are and when the owner takes our order he joked with my boyfriend about getting extra noodles. 10/10 hands down, service is great, soup is even better! 🍜🔥
The service is good. The food is okay but the prices are definitely higher than they should be. I don't usually go here but I will if I'm stuck because it's close to home.
Reluctantly returned here with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. I still find their prices to be relatively high compared to other Vietnamese restaurants and their pho is fairly average but their vermicelli and rice dishes are quite good and definitely recommend those.
Great experience!. We were greeted promptly and our order was taken within minutes. Food was served very quickly and tasted delicious! Server even suggested adding a sauce to make the dish even tastier. Overall, very pleased. Highly recommended.
BEST SATAY PHO. IN THE CITY!!!!
Always been pleased with the food here
SATISFIED & HAPPY. I think we might have a winner here with the sate beef noodle pho.
This place didn't have the 'pho-aroma' but it was a great place. It was so neat and clean and nicely decorated. It had a feeling of being welcomed.
We were greeted with a smile and the tables/setting were all so neat & clean.
The menu was nicely decorated with pictures- with their number on it to easily tell what it was. It's TRUE what they say.."You eat with your eyes first." Looking at the pictures, you feel the need to try everything pictured on there. :) Good marketing tactic, I think.
BINGO!! They had the pho I like to order to help me compare other pho restaurants with: rare cooked beef with tripe AND my husband's favorite soup: satay beef noodle soup.
We started with the deep fried wontons and for the first time, opted the shrimp salad rolls out. My husband commented that they have the iced coffee- cheaper than the other places ($3+ change, compared with other places.. up to $5+ change)
The soups come in 2 sizes- small and large. Their large is the average size of pho soups at majority places. Their small, I have been told is the size of a soup bowl; which in MY opinion would be the perfect size if you wanted to try one of their pho's
The fried wontons were good, nothing out of the ordinary, just a simple and tasty wonton that's been deep fried just a second or two longer but not to the point where they were over fried. I don't normally dip them into the sauce provided, but ate them with a leaf of Thai basil...YUM. Try it if you haven't- take a deep fried wonton and eat it along with small leaf of Thai basil!
My husband's satay beef noodle soup LOOKED LIKE how satay beef noodle soup should look like- with that redness from the chili. In the past couple of places- didn't look spicy at all.
My soup looked great, the one thing I need to criticize was not enough tripe (one of the cow's 4 stomachs)- it got all mingled in with the noodles. But it was an overall good balance. There was a choice to make it as a satay- for $1 but I pinched off some of the fresh Thai bird chili and that was spicy enough.
I am assuming, the man who brought us the soups was the owner- told us to squirt some sriracha and hoisin sauce into the little plates to dip the beef into. Of all the times and when I was first introduced to pho- DID NOT KNOW you should do that. My husband was shown by a good friend of his- who had introduced him to 'spicy soup'- just squirted them directly into the soup. I just used it to place my unused chili pepper in and normally- I take out the sliced white onion- but this was the first time I left it in there. I normally add the bean sprouts and Thai basil in and then with the lime. All of which were fresh looking. :D
The broth, which in most places- garnish with green onion and cilantro- did NOT have cilantro. Good news for those who hate cilantro. The broth was so good, I had to resist picking up the bowl and slurping up the broth. Why can't we do that, especially for pho and not be frowned upon by other customers and wait-staff doing so?
Overall. I really liked the atmosphere and food. And reasonably priced ($10) Overall- the bill came to $32
I was in a happy mood when I was there and left satisfied and happy. We would go there again!
Had the satay beef noodle soup. Good size portion. Soup broth is fantastic. 9.5 out of 10. I will come back frequently.
Awesome sate beef pho, great service.
Absolutely Deservant. I came across this restaurant on Google search and tried it; ever since that day I have become a regular.
Our family agrees that this restaurant is worth the travel to and from Langdon, AB; we also think this restaurant is worthy enough to take time out of our busy schedule to write a positive review.
You will not only find a great variety on the menu; all items are to die for tasty. We find the prices are very appropriate for the quality of the food & service; in most cases I find this restaurant to be cheaper than most other Vietnamese cuisine; which makes it even that much more enjoyable. I can’t forget to stress the cleanliness of this place, by far one of the most comfortable and clean atmospheres.
Their servers/staff are friendly and accurate. They take extra initiative to ensue your entire experience in their restaurant is enjoyable. I went there one time with my 1 year old son and without asking the server changed the TV channels to “Treehouse” for kids; he remembered my order and as always the food was phenomenal.
I seriously recommend this restaurant to everyone who likes to indulge in the Vietnamese cuisines.
But as we all know....
“NO one is perfect” – the one complaint I do have with this restaurant is that it does not have baby change tables in their clean washrooms; even though they offer loads of high chairs.
Thank you for taking your time to read this review, I appreciate that my time was not a complete waste.
AMAZING!. I live pretty close to it & my whole family go here at least once a week. I have been to a dozen Vietnamese restaurants this one by far is my favourite. The owner is one of the nicest people & always makes sure everything is perfect when we go here. The number 3 with spring rolls in salad rolls may possibly be the best thing I have ever ate. 10/10 this place deserves a way higher rating.
Very tastey. Do yourself a favor and order the 21.
Generally we pick up for home. The food is consistently well prepared and fast!
Delicious! My family frequently dines in this friendly and charming restaraunt. Staff are very efficient and food is very good. Bun is fresh and plentiful and the curried soup is excellent.
Great place!!!! Delicious spring rolls especially #3
Good overall. I go here for the Satay beef noodle soup...its pretty awesome. Its not one of those places to throw a dollop of satay sauce from a jar into regular pho and call it Satay. Its got great depth in flavor and isn't retardly spicy.
The regular pho is ok, there's definitely better out there. Fried wontons are good, bun bo hui (sp?) is pretty good as well, drinks are good, service is great!
A little on the expensive side but its also a viet place in the burbs so its always going to more expensive.
7.5/10
This place is ok .. I only like their number 22 dish which is the yellow noodle soup .. The pho is kinda tasteless and over priced. Everything is a bit overpriced but its in the NW where there's not really any good pho places therefore it'll do if your craving and don't wanna travel far .. I'll always go back for number 22 but that's it
Yes, go there! We have been twice and both times great food and excellent service. We had a dish where you yourself wrap your noodles and meat in rice paper. Super taste. Also the restaurant itself looks nice and superclean. Give it a try!
I love the spicy sate beef soup. I have found a lot of Vietnamese restaurants to make their soups very watered down. Nha Trang serves a very warm thick broth soup, I found it hearty and tasty compared to other Vietnamese restaurant I've been to, that's just the way I liked soups!
Good. It is a little more expensive than I've found with other restaurants serving similar dishes. But the food was very good. We've tried mostly just the soups. Shrimp and crab paste soup is delicious. We usually pick up our order so we were impressed when we came in on the fly to make a togo order and they only took maybe ten minutes tops to put it together. Have found good service here. We are returning customers for sure.
I've just been once and had the BĂąn. I thought it was great. The broth had great flavour, all ingredients were fresh. The service was friendly and fast. Price was great ! $22 for two people ! Can't beat that !
Satay Heaven. I would have to say this place is my favourite when it comes to Satay broths. Usually you get the origianl clear broth with a spoon of satay on top. Not impressed.
The soup is always piping hot and it's quick. The Original Soup is tasty as well.
Ordered the Bun Rieu, not as good as I've had it at other places, but decent that I would order it again.
Down side I would say would be their spring rolls. A few times they seem more full of veggies (carrots) than any meat filling.
Overal, it's one of the best Pho places to go in the NorthWest
Food: 4/5
Ambience 5/5
Service 5/5
Pricing 3/5 - Darn expensive place!!
Genious! Spring N' Salad Rolls. On the surface Nha Trang doesn't seem to be anything special, but when you dig deeper into their menu there are some GREAT treasures.
Not sure why this hasn't ever been thought of before at the other Vietnamese restaurants I frequent, but the Spring N Salad rolls are genious! A salad roll stuffed with a spring roll inside. It's as good as it sounds. A bit excessive, a bite indulgent, but totally delicious. The staff were nice enough to customize the order to get the veggie spring roll inside. Stuffed with tofu it was still great, especially mixed with the great peanuty dipping sauce.
The mains were quite enjoyable as well. The seafood satay had a good shrimp-based satay, not just a bunch of hot sauce squirted into it. Good portions of seafood and noodles as well, making it really filling. The bun was delicious as well got the special with a nice variety of meats mixed inside.
A good find in the new Panatella plaza. The prices as expected are high for a new place in a relatively new neighbourhood. However, if the offering remains high quality, I won't mind frequenting again and again.
Likes it a lot. Have been here multiple times and the food and service has always been good. Pho satay is the best here. They actually have a flavorful broth instead of just the typical satay chili sauce that many other viet restaurants use.
Also, the service is great. They greet you and let you sit wherever you want. They bring complimentary tea! They put their bowls on plates so they're not sticking their thumbs in your pho when they bring it out.
Overall, the place looks great, food is awesome, service is well. I will continue to go here.
Not great at all!. The pho seemed over priced and mine was not even hot!
The flavour was below average and the portions were really small. On top of this we had to ask twice for forks and weren't even served glasses of water with our meals..............not coming back for sure!
Food ok, high price, bad service. Got the chicken sate on vermicelli & lemongrass chicken on tofu - sate was pretty good, however, the lemongrass lacked flavor. When I asked for extra sauce I was told that is what the fish sauce is for.
Salad rolls are quite good but the prices seem really high for what you get. Would return as it is close to home and we would spend the difference in gas money. Would not seek this restaurant out if I did not live close to it.
When we went to leave we had to go bother the waitress as she was too busy facebooking on her laptop to come and give us our bill.
