Got the satay beef noodle soup. I didn't know it was peanut based and thought it was just chili based. It was still pretty good. The bowl was big and had lots of tender beef.
Also I heard the lobster noodle soup here is popular. Need to try that next time.
I can always tell how authentic a Vietnamese restaurant each time I order Bun Bo Hue. I was
pleasantly surprised by the smooth nature of the soup. Every drop of spice that came over me like tingles as I intake and inhale.
The politeness and pace to receive my meal was like a consistent flow.
What a classy feel.
With big gorgeous cared for windows the light gently penetrates the lovely space while the air conditioning was cold so that every hot bite made the feeling exceptional.

Came here for the first time and was quite happy with our lunch. You get a giant bowl of pho for the price you pay. The flavour was quite good and you get a decent amount of beef with plenty of bean sprouts. If you prefer the bean sprout to be cooked, just ask and they can gently boil it for you before serving. The Thai basil could have been fresher and their choice of spoon compared to the size of the bowl used could be more compatible, but overall, I would come again.
There are many decent Vietnamese restaurants in Calgary. I am well acquainted with most in the NW and downtown.
Saigon Rex is my personal favourite. The food is always spot on, but what makes Rex my favourite is the calm quiet atmosphere.
Unlike some Vietnamese restaurants, there is no loudness from the kitchen and service staff. The older waiter/host just quietly goes about making our dining experience perfect.
Ample parking too.
Highly recommended.

One of the best Pho Soups ever! The broth is legit and you can taste fresh ingredients. The proportions of noodles and meet is also just perfect. It’s a great location with enough parking. The service is good and friendly. We like this place very much.
