Review Saigon Y2k - Calgary

Really nice space. Lots of room and seating options. The food was really great! They do egg noodles here and I would definitely recommend them as a substitute to the rice noodle! Tasty clear broth. Fast and courteous service. Decent parking options and Would return!

What a meal was #35 was awesome for beef broth pho, had the spring rolls too and wow. I really liked the time here and the food was delicious! The seating and table spacing wasn't super crowded and we had room to talk and breathe while eatting

Good taste, nice service. I ordered #33 Satay rice noodles with a iced mango bubble tea and my fiends ordered two #25 with Vietnamese coffee. All of us are happy with the food. We are from Toronto and we are happy to see good Asian food in Calgary.

Tried it out again for the first time in about 15 years; its not in my neighborhood anymore so the delay is not because of food issues. Ordered take out and the staff was pleasant and offered me a place to wait. They even offered water since it was a hot day. Food was tasty. My only quibble is we ordered peanut sauce as a side, and the small container was just slightly over half full. Overall though, I will be back.

This blew my mind, my whole life I've been eating a poor imitation of what vermicelli rice bowls should be! Each ingredient is delicious on its own, but combined they're sublime! You can really tell they focus on making-from-scratch. Everything tastes like it is homemade. P.S. The coconut slush is made with fresh coconut flesh and coconut milk. If you close your eyes you feel like you're on a tropical beach drinking straight out of a real coconut.

1. Well mannered staffs 2. Food quality could be improved 3. Recommendation: Can try once.

There is just one thing I have to say... Hope you like salt! This was by far the saltiest food I've had in a long time. The spring rolls and the soup were heavily seasoned with salt, I was thirsty the rest of the day. Prob won't go back because of this =\

The food here is actually pretty good. Very generous portions. Make sure to take advantage of their lunch specials. I will be going here again soon.

after eating our meal we noticed multiple mice running around! when mentioned to the manager working there she laughed and said “i know” then proceeded to make us pay for our bills. Disgusting that they kept their establishment open during a rodent infestation with out warning their customers.

Worst Viet food I have ever ordered. "Fresh lettuce" was brown, cucumber slices were slimy, spring rolls were super greasy. Never again. I love Vietnamese food - cook a fair bit myself - have lived across Canada and eaten Vietnamese food in 5 different provinces ----never as horrible as this. What a waste of money - and what a disappointment. Don't bother.

Love the satay beef pho! The broth is tasty; it's got a little kick but I wouldn't call it spicy. The beef isn't the most tender but it gets the job done. Dumplings are good. The wonton soup with egg noodles is also quite good. It is very affordable so worth checking out.

To be fair, I dropped in near closing for takeout and they were happy to take my order. I ordered the Chicken Pho. It was well packed and got home hot. Unfortunately, the small broth portion can't compare to their competitors. Flavour was also thin. I'd say a good place for people who like "safe pho", but for those with a more developed pho pallet, it will leave you disappointed.

This place opened up in 1999 -- when the Y2K scare was going on, does anyone remember? Hard to believe it's been 17 years. That tells you all you need to know. That the food is actually decent. All pho, all the time
Michael Buchanan
Went here New Years Eve & got some take out. We ordered a bunch of food we ordered the grilled pork dumplings $8.50, prawn salad rolls $3.95, Satay chicken pho $9.50 & Vermicelli with Lemongrass Prawns $9.75. The food was very sub par the satay chicken pho's broth was pretty bland the salad rolls we actually got the wrong order got the chicken salad rolls instead of the prawns & the chicken was very dry. My wife said the vermicelli dish was ok & the dumplings where ok but nothing special. I would recommend going somewhere else there are some very good Vietnamese restaurants in the area.

Tried this location as I'm a huge Mega fan of the Chinatown location. So I figured this place could only be better or worse. And it was not on the same level as the Chinatown location. Seafood sate was nothing to brag about. It was average at best

The food at this restaurant was good and I was pretty happy with the value here as well. My rice and pork chop dish was very flavourful when compared to most Vietnamese places in Calgary. The only negative aspect was the amount of seafood in the seafood noodle soup: I really wish there was less imitation crab and more shrimp/fish/squid. Other than the service was good and the atmosphere was pleasant. It's a nice little place to go for a fairly cheap meal.
Smarty
Pretty good Vietnamese food. They have the regular selection of pho, noodle bowls and stir fry. Service was friendly as food prepared quickly. Well priced. Would come back again. Good stop if you're in the area.
Jon Miranda
This is at most mediocre, we got delivery and they forgot our drinks for the 2nd time, as well took about an hour and 20 mins for delivery, not my favorite, you guys can do waaay better. Like 10 years ago better.

Service is standard. Food is good. Lots of tables. Free parking. May be overwhelmed at lunchtime sometimes so be prepared to wait. Good neighbourhood but has crime at night associated with adjacent LRT station and liquor store.
Masticator
Not the best veitnamese. But it's decent for the price and there is never an issue getting a table. Service is on par with most Asian restaurants.
Stacy004
Gross. Worst Vietnamese I have ever had in calgary. Food did not taste fresh, no flavour and tasted like it was in the fridge for weeks. Also terrible service. My prediction is place will go out of business. Worst $50 I have ever spent. Left everything as I my family couldn't eat it as it was so terrible.
Kris_vibe
VERY GROSS!!!. I was so Pissed off we took time to come to this restaurant! I ordered beef lemon grass rice vermicelli. It came out and they brought chicken. So I informed them of their mistake and they changed it and brought out the beef. I have had this dish at so many different vietnamese restaurants and never has it only been beef and noodles. There was no lettuce, no veggies period! On top of that the meat was so gross it had a green color to it. I refused to eat. I will never go there again.
Foodfrenzy
Disappointed. I have been here several times over the years and it was pretty good. But the last couple times have been a disappointment and last Friday will be the last. My two coworkers and I went there for lunch. the first thing you see and have to touch is that dirty front door! Why don't they clean it! Bad first impression.

I ordered the curry chicken with rice and my friends ordered the beef noodle soup. We shared the little plate of curry I ordered with small very worn plastic plates. Plastic? Really? What happened to this place? They must have new owners because a lot of the dishes have changed. They charge each person for green tea as well which should be included. When you order take out, they also charge for peanut sauce. Shouldn't that come with the salad rolls...

Time to find a new Pho restaurant.
Ginger Snaps
Pretty decent spot for Vietnamese... Large menu and reasonable prices.
I have had the salad rolls (they are ok.... The peanut sauce is really tasty tho!), Pho (MASSIVE service so heads up.. Pretty tasty broth), and the pork with rice noodles (I believe #45 or something... Anyways really tasty again.. Wish it had more veggies tho).
Samantha
Gluten Free Friendly!. I like this place because I know when I ask for gluten free, my meal is safe to eat. They even suggested with my beef vermicelli bowl to swap the spring rolls for shrimp rolls! It was a nice touch.

I don't understand why the reviews are so bad.. I go here from time to time. I have never had a problem and the food is always good. It also has a vegetarian menu, something I really appreciate.

Lost a regular customer. My boyfriend and I used to be regulars for the good location and their decent pho. Even after they were mad at us when they got our order wrong (we always order the same thing but after they got our order wrong they insisted that we were the ones at fault) we decided to keep going since most pho restaurants have their good and bad service days. After I heard them talk about us by the till when we were sitting at the table right in front of them, I had it. No manners towards their customers at all. It's too bad that this one has such a convenient location.

My boyfriend and I were unfortunately really disappointed with everything at this restaurant. We were both regulars in high school (8years ago) and wanted to go back tonight... We waited a while at the front without being offered a seat before we thought it would be ok to seat ourselves...that finally got someone's attention but was only the first of a number of things. Our waitress, while very nice, didn't seem to know much about the menu when I asked what "vegetable seafood" was, so I just ordered something else. We had salad rolls which were ok but the peanut sauce tasted watered down and just not very tasty....my boyfriends vermicelli dish with spring rolls beef and pork tasted like the meat was old and stale, and my vegetable soup tasted and looked like water broth. While we were eating, a group of six came in and asked for a table ... The waitress made an awkward face and said "well we do close at 9...." This was at 845, but viet is pretty quick and I'm guessing they need the money.... But they were clearly in a hurry to close right at nine because just after refusing the six table one of the staff began vacuuming half of the restaurant, while there was still a number of tables. Completely ruined whatever atmosphere there was and definitely didn't make conversation appealing. The staff were also talking to each other across the restaurant (more like yelling) in their own language which I found a bit rude.
Anyway I don't usually write bad reviews but my boyfriend and I were both pretty disappointed with everything at this restaurant. Don't waste your money like we did!
Kuucumber
Have been often, little disappointed. Just went yesterday and you can tell there is new management. slower service, food not as nice. Noodles were good tasting but portions were small.
Jaymangdu
Good food, but the place is disgusting! The chairs the floors and walls and particularly the bathrooms! They desperately need a renovation!!!!! with the money that they making one month they can afford it.
Alana
We are regulars, or shall I say were. We would order the exact same thing every time. Never dissapointed. Now that they've changed management everything has changed. One change I do like is the broth for their soup is better. Other than that nothing is the same, and not for the better. The staff is over run, no one can comprehend your order and any changes are a huge deal. The "matriarch" of the place is extremely rude to staff and customers alike. It's really unfortunate as it was a weekly staple in our life. I guess we'll take the time to drive over to PHO RANG DONG in the SE best PHO in town!!!!

READ REVIEWS BEFORE ORDERING. I really wish I had read through all the reviews on this place before I ordered takeout. Not only did the lady, who was the owner mind you, place my owner wrong, when I called after I got home to let them know they screwed up my order she blamed me!
The food was an awful, sludgy, mess with absolutely no flavour which I didn't discover until I got off of the phone with the owner who was quite rude; she offered no compensation not even an apology. It is very rare that I come across service this poor but as far as calgary goes this place takes the cake.
CantCook
New Management Ruined It. I figured a change in ownership would affect things but hoped any issues would be short lived, but here we are well over a year later and things at SY2K are worse than ever. There's no hope. There's hardly any reason for a menu, they'll just serve you whatever slop they have behind the counter and don't dream of complaining, the old lady will laugh in your face.

I just don't know. Another Calgary favourite bites the dust. What's going on in this city? This place used to be our "go to" for good Vietnamese food. It's still alright, but barely. You sure don't get the meat + veg in your meal like you used to. And they charge an extra $1 for extra satay for your soup? You used to not need the extra satay because it was INCLUDED as part of the soup! (That's why one orders the Satay soup in the first place! Right?) Shaking my head. I guess it's time to try some other Vietnamese joints around town.
Lorna
New Management is Horrible.. I used to eat here with my husband at least once a week. Since the new management company started last year, we have seen a decrease in the amount of meat in the dishes and the accuracy of the dishes has been inconsistent. After today, however, I will not go back.

I ate a small amount of soup while at the restaurant this evening and decided that I would rather eat it at home, so had it packed up hardly touched. When I got home, I found there was NO BROTH, and instead there was a lump of noodles and some meat. When I called to complain, the response was that their policy is to only fill one take-out container for left-overs and that they would have had to charge me for a second container to have my full meal. Instead of asking, they THREW IT OUT. They threw out food that I paid for and wanted to eat. I told them that if all I wanted was noodles and meat, I would have ordered a vermicelli dish and that the whole purpose of soup is the broth.

Since I got nowhere on the phone, I decided to go back to the restaurant and after identifying that I was just on the phone with them, I asked for the same soup. After few minutes, the manager asked me how I want to pay. My reply, “you’re saying that you want me to pay for a meal that I already paid for” She said, “yes.” I left without the soup and certainly without paying.

Had I my wits about me, I would have asked for a refund for the part of my meal that they threw out so carelessly. I will not go back.

We will never be back. Absolutely terrible. There was food on the walls. When we finally got our menus the waitress toss it on the table and kept walking. No smile, very unfriendly. They use old ingredients the Thai basil was wilted and the pho soup was gritty. A very inpleasant experience.

My lunch experience-never again. My co-workers and I went for lunch today and when we arrived there were two other tables being occupied. The server brought us tea and then took over ten minutes to come back to take our order. Nobody came to check and see if we wanted anything else to drink so I eventually went up and asked for a drink. They brought me the wrong one...
We waited and waited for our food and in the meantime the restaurant had become busy and every table was full and 3/4 were eating!
I eventually went back to the front counter and asked about our food and told them that nobody had been to see if we needed anything.
The server came back and said that "they probably forgot your order." He actually hadn't written it down so maybe HE forgot our order. No apology was given even after I mentioned that we only had an hour for lunch and had already been there for 45 minutes.
The food is meh! Nho Saigon in Marda Loop is way better and the people that run it are really nice and the service is great. Don't waste your time at Y2K, they couldn't care less about you! We are all in agreement that we will NEVER go back.

No issues at all.. Have been here 4 times in last year. Never had an issue at all. Staff seem rushed, because they are. Place is always packed. Great service. Great grub! IT's not a 5 star venue, by any means, but for cheap, fast, Vietnamese, this is a great choice.

Sad to see the decline .. Dropped in the other night as we were in a rush but wanted something more then fast food . We ordered 2 shrimp salad rolls , #17 , and I ordered a #46 , vermicelli with grilled chicken and spring rolls . My partner ordered a tofu dish .
Rolls arrived and we each had one . Mine felt hard and dry , and after my first bite into the shrimp the fishy smell confirmed my suspicion that it was old and had been sitting around for quite some time . I let it go as I try and not get too worked up by one slip up .
My order arrived super fast . Obviously had been pre made and probably chilled as it was room temperature at best . Again , in a hurry so no biggie . Half way thru my meal the wifes' dinner arrived , and it was smoking hot , freshly cooked .
After eating three quarters of my meal , while chewing I noticed something a little different in my mouth . It was a piece of styrofoam ! Now this I could not do nothing about , unfortunately , the two guys serving us at this point were both having their meals in the far corner . I waited about ten minutes to track down a waiter who only came near us because he was sitting a couple who had just entered . After showing him the evidence , he mumbled in shock and quickly took the piece over to the tall lady who usually mans the cash desk . I don't know what she said , but our waiter now took the styro piece over to our original waiter . He came by our table to see how our meals were . I told him about the styro I found , and he kinda apologized and mentioned he'd talk to the chef . He also said he would take the price of my meal off of the bill . As anyone who has ever been there knows , you have to go to the desk in the back to pay , so my wife did while I gathered our belongings . When she returned she was visibly angered but just wanted to leave . I assumed it was because we were in a hurry , but on our way to our party she explained our waiter told her he would only take a dollar off of my meal . I am shocked , saddened and still angry about this . We have visited this establishment hundreds of times over the years but have never been treated so poorly . I have overlooked the run down appearance in the last few years , especially since the new owners have taken over , but I will never set foot in this establishment again . If you want better Vietnamese food from actual Vietnamese people , go to CoDo on 17th , or just about any place else .
Thank you ,

Robb

Horrible. I had been going to this restaurant consistently since it opened and I gotta say their quality had always been consistently good, and that is the reason I kept on going back when I needed that quick fix of pho. Service was always just mediocre but what do you expect when you go to a pho restaurant that's not downtown.

I had that urge for a quick bowl of hot pho and decided to go here again and the first thing I noticed was that there were a lot of new faces in the staff, so I suspected the old team sold this place and it's now under new management. In my mind I was thinking, how bad can this be, let's just sit down and let's see whether the food quality changed.

I don't really want to go into very much detail about the service but let's just say when I tried to order with my server for just THREE bowls of pho, it literally took close to 5 mins for him to...

1) dig out his order book from his pocket,
2) no order book found from his jeans' pockets,
3) took out some scrap paper but he decided that he couldn't write on those, put those back into the pockets,
4) searched the other pocket and found more scrap paper but since it's NOT the order book, nope, can't take order with those
5) found some napkins, sure, this will work
6) "so what are the numbers? #1, #2, and #3"........ ".......... ok #1........ #1 right? #2.......... and #3............. #2 and #3 right?
7) repeat step 6) one more time

Usually at other pho restaurants, a bowl of pho, when the restaurant is at full capacity, would probably take max 10 mins from order till the food arrives. So after 10 mins of wait, only one bowl of pho arrived and the others were missing so I asked the waiter to follow up on my order. Another 10 mins gone by and my friend already finished his noodle. Asked the server again and he claimed that he already asked the kitchen but will ask again for me. The other customers who ordered after me, by this time, had already received their food.

I understand that it happens orders get missed, but when I thought asking once should be more than enough. Another 5 mins, I just decided to leave and pay for that one bowl of noodle and probably will never return. They kept on apologizing and blamed it on the computer, which I understand that they might've just taken over the business and is not familiar with their system, but the fact that I had to follow-up two times and still didn't get my bowl of pho was just unacceptable.

However, I gotta do them justice and talk about the food quality. As per my friend who was lucky enough to get his bowl of pho, quality is same as before. Good thing to hear as a lot of restaurants tend to go downhill once it's ran under new management.

Convenient & Good. When I visit Calgary, I stay@BanffTrail hotel, so this location of SaigonY2K is very convenient. The service is friendly&efficient. I always order (only) the Goi Cuon & Bun with Grilled Pork & snipped SpringRolls. It's always very good. Will definitely be eating here frequently. Recommended.
Jordan Kruger
I have eaten here over 10 times. I keep coming back because the food is great. I normally take the food to go and it is always very prompt service. Great restaurant.
Aaron Lajaro
Below Standard. I had a seafood soup, which was ok, at least it was hot.
My date had beef pho, very salty, she felt a bit sick after a few spoonfuls.

The place looks really worn out, bathroom, seats, floor, walls are all in need of repair and upgrading. Please have pride about your location, it looks like no one cares. (Saw many holes in the Men's bathroom)
Will not be coming back, unless there are major changes. There are many other places in Calgary which are much cleaner and seem to actually care.
Bens
Really mediocre. Everything here seems like the cafeteria food of Vietnamese cuisine. No effort in presentation, bland seasonings, service is fast but average otherwise.
Dynatos
Terrible. This place is cheap and it really shows in the food.

My girlfriend and I were looking for somewhere quick to eat near the university as we had an event in the evening. We have been to many of the nearby restaurants, so we gave this one a try.

I ordered the "salad rolls" for an appetizer. The shredded lettuce in the rolls was browning. They were also smaller than many other restaurants and were extremely bland. My girlfriend ordered the imperial rolls, which tasted of old frier oil.

For the main course, I had a rice noodle (vermicelli) bowl. It came ot the table luke warm. All of the meat (beef and chicken) looked to be processed. The beef was shavings of something similar to donair meat, and the chicken resembled the type one can by in bags of precooked and prechopped chicken breast.

My girlfriend had a bowl of rare beef pho. Hers, too, was luke warm. Normally, when one orders rare beef pho, one expects the broth to be hot enough to cook the beef once it has been mixed into the broth. We had to send back the soup to have it warmed up so that it was hot enough. We suspect they just placed the soup in the microwave and brought it back, and the broth still wasn't hot enough to fully cook the meat. My girlfriend said the broth actually tasted terrible - she couldn't finish more than half of the pho.

We will not be returning.
Hinggu
The one downtown is good so tried this location. My whole bowl of pho was beef fat. Not sure why they would let this go to a customer. Will not be coming back
Chris Mozell
Lived on this stuff. I lived on Y2K when I was going to UofC. Great food, good portions and great price, especially for a university student.

I still try and visit there everytime I am back in town.
Renee3
Pass. I ate here once when I worked near by. I wasn't even that into Vietnamese at the time but I remember it being dry and that I didn't like it.
I don't settle for mediocre vietnamese when there are better options.
Mike Lee
WHY NO EGG NOODLE.
Justine Kim
Terrible Service. Usually, I am not one to really be turned off by bad service. I mean, it happens and if the food is delicious, you usually can deal with it. This time though, we walked out of the restaurant without ordering anything. In the past I have gone to Y2K if I needed a quick Pho fix. It is one of the few Vietnamese restaurants in the NW, plus it is so close to the University. However, this time, when we arrived, there were empty tables all around and the hostess kept ignoring us for about 15 minutes before we sat down ourselves. A waitress later brought over menus and teapots very rudely asking us to wait next time before sitting down. The tea we received was ice cold, and when we finally got her attention to ask for hot tea, she glared at us, and told us that the teapot was a special kind of pot that reheats the tea on its own. It was a normal ceramic tea you see at any Vietnamese restaurant. It was the last straw, and we just walked right out of the restaurant. Never making a trip there again.
Spooner82
Service with no smile. The noodles were dry and I had noodle soup. Go figure. My order was placed wrong, and I didn't receive my meal for 25 minutes. No apologies from staff after countless tables were served before me. My bowl was large, but the serving was smaller than most "small" phos in other restaurants. Will not return.
LC
Not Good. Had the Chicken Sate Pho - was really oily and had a weird taste. Worst I've had in the city.
Feed ME
Best Vietnamese Spring Rolls. ...they're crispy and flavourful... and their "white man's special" (aka. bun) is one of the best in town. No rubbery meat here.
JamieEddy
Cheap/usually satisfying student food. This is a main spot for students to get food. It's cheap, comes in big portions, and insanely fast (10 min for a pick up order) and the food is half decent. I usually stick to the vermicelli bowls or the house special soup. There's lots of broth, noodles, and meat/chicken/prawns. Sometimes its dry, but you can soak it in the broth for 5 minutes and it is good. If you are feeling lazy, hungover, or want something quick and satisfying, this place is great. If you are looking for impressive Vietnamese, you will probably want to head somewhere else.
Megan MacLeod
Consistently Awesome. This is the only place that I go for good Vietnamese food. They are consistent with their speed and quality of food. The decor leaves a bit to be desired, but who cares when you're getting such great food!
Dfresh
Best beef vermicelli in the city! just sayin'
Marlies
Fast!. I have never been served so fast! My friends and I were starving and we were expecting to wait the usual 20 minutes that you'd wait at any other restaurant, but our food here came out in what felt like less than 2 minutes. The food wasn't that incredible, but considering how fast it came out, I was very impressed. Would definitely go back.
Will Smith
Food suck and manager yelling at customer,so rude
Dana
Cheapest manager I've ever met. I don't usually buy food at this restaurant, but one time I came to this restaurant to order something to take out. I had a huge order with more than $50 and of course, put some tip also, but he still charged me 50 cents for an extra hot sauce.
CcT
Used to have decent dishes and the price was good. Went last night, and was so disappointed. Restaurant was very dirty, the tables still had food from the last customers. Washroom was one of the worst I have ever seen. I won't be going back ever again.
Zorro
2.5/5 - #40 could have been way better. Normally when I come here I order the Saigon Special Noodles (#40 with side of soup) and I am usually really satisfied with it. This time around I found the bbq pork was dry. That was the only downfall from this dish this time around. The soup was very tasty and everything else about this dish was good. Just the bbq pork! We also ordered the salad rolls and it was mediocre. The lettuce seemed old and there was no pork in it like the traditional rolls. The service? Should we expect much from a Vietnamese restaurant? The food came out fast and we got our glasses of water.
Hitting The Sauce
Sometimes gross tasting. Saigon Y2K is not the best place for pho or bun, but it's not bad if you are in the area and want something filling and cheap in a relatively quick time. I usually order charbroiled chicken with spring rolls on vermicelli noodles. The chicken doesn't taste charbroiled, and it's really dry. The spring rolls have progressively become blander in time. The noodles use to have a little more bounce to it. Also, the salad only consists of carrots, sprouts and lettuce. I believe Y2K use to put have a bigger variety of vegetables, as well as a bigger portion. I tried the three grilled meats on vermicelli, and it was pretty horrid - very dry and cheap cuts of meat. Beer is cheap, which is always nice.
ACL
Awful. Saigon used to be good for Vietnamese bun years ago...but they seem to have decided to cash in on cheap ingredients and high volume. I used to enjoy the lemongrass chicken vermicelli, but it's gone so far downhill I won't go there anymore.
Also, the last time we ordered from there there was a long black hair in my friend's soup...the staff tried to say it was ours...we're both blonde.
Arvin
Gross. After hearing good things about this place, and since Vietnamese cuisine is one of my favorites, I gave this place a try. The interior is fine, and the prices are low, and that's about the nicest thing I can say. I ordered the spicy sate chicken pho. The chicken was in huge chunks and tasted manufactured. Either those chickens were genetically manufactured in a lab, or the chickens were exposed to some chemicals on the farm. The broth itself was less offensive. yes the portions are huge, yes the place gets full at lunch, but i don't understand how anyone can eat there. Totally disgusting and I won't ever go back. I have eaten pho in TD mall that tastes better.
John
When there is nowhere else to go. On a late night, nowhere else is open. You can still go there to get simple, rather cheap vietnamese food. It's not a place you'll remember, neither a place you'll love but it's a convenient "just in case" place!
Stonefly
Might have had the rudest owner of a restaurant in all of Calgary, extremely non kid friendly and read your bill at the end of the meal for extra charges.
BJRS
WRONG ORDER GAIN & FOOD LESS THAN AVERAGE. I have tried this restaurant over and over due to convenience and on average I get the right order about 75% of the time. The management is argumentative and unwilling to do anything about their inability to run a restaurant. There are much better option is this city including on Saigon Star in stadium....this will be the LAST time I go there.
Ula
Awful, awful, awful. I had heard bad things about this place but was working nearby so thought I would try it for myself. I had the shrimp salad rolls and the rice paper was stale and they smelt awful; just smelt old and not appetizing at all. Will never be going back.
Paul Huynh
FOOD TERRIBLE, SERVICES SUCK...ETC. I try so many vietnamese restaurant, but I found this one the services are Terrible and their Soup taste like water with MSG...and their Vermicelli even taste the same as soup. I NEVER WILL NEVER STEP MY FOOT IN THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN
Hungry Dazza
Terrible. The last time I set foot in the Stadium Y2K on Crowchild I immediately turned around left because the restaurant smelled like a backed up toilet. Or it was a smell of a putrifying skunk or perhaps a cesspool or a sewage treatment plant. Something very, very bad.
Big Unit
Terrible service and the soup taste like powdered chicken stock with MSG!!!
Guitarman105
Lovin' it. I've gone to Y2K dozens of times. It's true customer service isn't their strong point, so don't worry about tipping. I usually have either the vermicelli with pork or the beef sate soup. Both are great portions...I've gone to several Vietnamese places in town and this one and one in Forest Lawn (whose name I forget) are my favorites.
Rjt
Sooooooo good. Huge meal, delicious, inexpensive, and no obligation to tip because all they do is take your order and let you eat.

GROSS. It was quite obvious the one time I visited Saigon Y2K that they were busy and had no time for me. The evidence was in the service and the food quality. I understand you can be busy but I still expect a meal I feel obliged to pay for (which I reluctantly paid for)and service that includes "How is your meal" at least once.
