Newcastle Pub is set up wonderfully with their interior and exterior design. It's a very welcoming restaurant with friendly and happy staff who provided me with awesome service. The food was spectacular, usually pub food is very simple and just okay, but Newcastle delivers creative recipe's with flavors and a bite that made me want more.
I tried the Fat Bastard Burger and honestly it was one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. Great tasting patty, fresh vegetables and delicious sauces. I was very full after my meal.
Appetizers were also great, highly recommend the Baked Pretzel.

Newcastle, above all else, is a great neighbourhood Pub! Its an easy choice between me and my friends (and even family) to head over for a drink! Love the proximity to my house! Always happy to support local!
The interior is cozy and the pub feels so warm and welcoming, it always feels like youre going to walk in and find friends there. The staff is absolutely amazing, attentive and so nice! Its always a pleasure to be served by them, they take care of us so well every time!
Management is just as great, they’re always so friendly and welcoming to all their patrons!
They have great specials every day of the week, all very affordable and decently priced. Their food is delicious and their menu has lots of variety and is filled with pub classics! (my personal favourite is the Fish and Chips) it’s a great spot to grab a quick weekday lunch or dinner and drinks on the weekend when we want a relaxed night. Its also our go to for catching Flames games!
Overall, love this pub, easily my favourite in the whole city. I always recommend it and take people there every chance I get. Definitely deserving of five stars!

Happen to be driving by and stopped in for lunch. I heard about this place but never had a chance to really stop and before. So glad I did because the food is amazing. And we're not talking about one dish here I've ordered quite a bit for me and my wifey.
We had the pub pretzels that came with grainy mustard, I ordered the Reuben sandwich with a side of deep fried pickles and that came with creamy horseradish which was awesome. The wife ended up having fried chicken with a side of poutine. We had zero complaints but every item and the portions were so damn big that we ended up taking a few bites and packing the rest to go home.
One thing that could have used a little bit more love might have been the slaw. It was a tad watery but that is such a null point compared to today's experience.
On service it not only fast and attentive but made us feel better in general for coming down to have our lunch here. Laura the smiley server made some great recommendations.
Great environment. Lots of seats, half of them were full of people from all walks of life. No brainer here, will be back a lot and again.

I ate the Oxford burger last night for dinner and it was such a big portion that I took half Togo for lunch the following day. The sautéed mushrooms and bbq sauce made this burger out of this world. I tried the soup of the day which was the chicken noodle soup and that was also delicious, very different from a regular chicken noodle go there and give it a try :). Thanks Newcastle for a great overall experience.
I have been here a few times and have enjoyed the food, service, and environment. It's a great place to have a pint or two and to meet up with friends.
It's great to see the managers pitch in and help out their staff. They always have time to chat with their customers. The waitresses are always friendly and fast.

Awesome environment, great staff, I had the fat bastard burger, it was a great burger, full and filling. 10/10 would recommend to friends and would go again.
Had the Union Jack, horseradish aioli was on point. Great flavors in the burger, definitely gonna go back. Service was awesome as well.

This pub has an amazing menu that is consistent (4 visits and counting), staff that is pleasant, and managers that hit home runs with us by visiting our table every time to see how we are doing and get to know us. Big shout out to Brian and Jay, keep up the amazing work. No wonder this place is always busy.

Whenever L and I have a big decision to make, we discuss it over a pint at Newcastle Pub. We started this tradition when we bought our first home. Personally, I think it’s just an excuse to drink. We both know what we want to do before we even slide into a booth. For this post, let’s listen to “Just What I Needed” by The Cars.
We live so close to this place, it's literally a hop, skip and a jump. I've only ever had wings here and they are facking tasty. Wednesday from 4pm to close, for .35cents a piece. One drink needs to be bought as well (can be pop). They have 20 flavours to choose from and so far I've tried salt and pepper, hot, dill pickle, Korea BBQ, and BBQ house special. All delicioso. Will definitely return.
My husband and I use to frequently visit the Newcastle Pub for the fish and chips and wings on Wednesday. We haven’t been in a while because I’m trying to shed some extra baggage that came back with me from Japan. However, on Thursday night, my father-in-law Bobbino was hankering for a visit to our local pub. He use to live with us for a short time and got to know the staff at Newcastle quite well.

This is a great little gem in the neighborhood. I have been going here since it opened and the food is consistently good whether it's lunch, dinner or brunch. The service is always really good too. Good selection of beer, good variety of food and it really feels like a neighborhood pub!
I have only been here for drinks and one appetizer but I thoroughly enjoy this place. On Sunday they had 6.50 double highballs which is a pretty good score. I could actually taste (and feel for that matter) the double in the drink - wasn't watered down. I had the deep fried pickles and they were really good. I just wasn't hungry enough to order an entre otherwise I would have. They have a good meal selection. The service was very friendly and upbeat. I would go back cause it enjoyed the atmosphere. Good prices on the food too from what I saw on the menu.
If you want a truly excessive burger, The Fat Bastard at the Newcastle Pub is waiting for you. The 8oz patty is topped with an egg and onion ring, so it's pretty massive. Not the easiest thing to eat cleanly. For the most part, the burgers, and the food, is themed around English pop culture.
This English pub has a number of traditional English dishes and drinks. It's a good environment to hang out and grab a regular pub meal, especially if you want to be surrounded by kitschy UK pop culture. Hidden out on a stretch of 17 Ave SW that is usually just passed by, it might be a good stop to explore some different types of burgers.

The wings are always delicious, you can't go wrong. The poutine I find is WAY too salty and it's not the gravy but I'm not sure what it is; but it was just the one time. I highly recommend the Fat Bastard; it's amazing. Miriam is the nicest, friendliest, and the best serve. We love her. Other servers we've had are rude and impatient and there were a lot of newer faces in the recent months. Inside Newcastle is very comfy, I'm not talking about the seats but I'm talking about the atmosphere; it's welcoming. Go and try the wings if you haven't!
I've been here probably 100 times but have never reviewed it. This place is such a welcomed addition to Killarney, no disrespect to historically popular Van's. My GF and I had the "American werewolf in London" Burger on the Monday night $10 burger deal and loved it. Honestly I would have paid the extra $5 for it but you can't beat a deal like that - keep it up Newcastle you rock!
I've been coming here for a few months about once every two weeks. This place is clean and the outfits are good for going out with the boys! The service has been mostly good except one particular waitress. That is minor because I have definitely noticed the lack of good servers in this city. The food is good 95% of the time. Nice atmosphere and I dig the garage door walls. Pizza is good and fish and chips are awesome in the newspaper. (Thank you for not using real newspaper. . . That is so gross!) Only complaint was I went on fish and chip night and got older looking and tasting fish. But I went late and I'm sure the volume sold means they precook. But every other time I order the fish and chips normal days it has been excellent. Breakfasts are really good too. Everything has been good really! Definitely a repeat customer here!
As a Brit, I like the Brit feel in here. Went for lunch. Definitely a British themed interior, menu and drinks. Not what I was expecting (I had assumed it was a dive bar but it's really clean and well maintained inside). Burger was really good. Loved the newspaper-style tongue in cheek menu layout! Can't wait to take my wife and Brit friends there.
Pub food at its finest!!!. HAS GLUTEN FREE OPTION for those who care for majority of there burgers/sandwiches!

When you walk in you feel like its just another pub with mediocre food! NOPE! This is like old school english pub with high class food!! Menu is limited because yeah it's a pub but it's all pretty delicious! Fat Bastard burger super messy and big but so worth it! Lay it on me baby!
Food is great. The service is wonderful. The wait time for the food is ridiculous. Make sure you take a long lunch or don't need to be anywhere in a hurry.

Well.. My two cents worth.. I am a local... Very happy Newcastle opened up. It has enriched our community.
Food, love it. good pub food.. Mini Yorkshires, Pizza, Burgers, Fish and chips.. all a hit.. I have had almost everything on the menu, or my friends have. If we ever have a problem they deal with it, Quickly and without question.
Floor manager present! Huge plus. He’ll shake your hand and say hello, bring drinks if server is busy.
Service WoW!! I have not one complaint. The Staff are long term and know us by name. They know our drinks and always have a lovely smile.
Music is good and rarely too loud.. if there is a game we would like to see on a specific TV.. Guess what.. The manger is around and will catch our eye and ask if he can help.

Good food cool atmosphere. Went here for lunch with a friend and enjoyed the pubs style and food! the food was a bit on the pricey side but the quality was good, same with the drinks. our server checked up on us regularly but seemed slighhtly annoyed the entire time, oh well. The manager checked up with alot of the tables too and was doing a good job making sure everything was good. will probably come again!
I love this place! We pull up to the wood everytime ,service is great. Servers are fun , food is pub food! Not much foodie wise but its a great place to hang out/watch a game. Lovely.
Its Average. I've been a few times and the main thing that stands out is how bad the salad was. If you don't have a decent salad with some stupid fruity vinaigrette and mixed greens, micro or otherwise, your just being spiteful. Aged iceberg lettuce and uninspired dressing just doesn't cut it. The wings and fries and burgers were a fairly standard representation of what you'd get in a pub 20 years ago. They have beer, but so does everyone else.
Traditional Good Ol' Pub Food. If you are looking for traditional pub food, this is the place. I love that these guys don't try and "fancy" things up. It's a pub!!! Let it be!! I was happily shocked to see they serve liver and onions on the menu and more pubs should! This is awesome, good old fashioned food. I love how they style their menus to look like newspapers. Their service is good and the prices are fair. I would say they are my comfort food of choice. Only thing I would recommend is to train the waitresses a little bit more on the beer selection, the differences between an ale and a stout, ect. Other than that, we will be going back again!
Been there.... ... and will gladly go there again! We live a couple blocks away and are so happy to have a pub close by. However, if it wasn't decent, we would not patronize it. We (6 of us) attended the Grand Opening last year and although it was a little crazy, the food " tastes" were great. As a result, we committed to patronizing and supporting Newcastle through its growing pains.Even though staff retention was an issue, the servers were always cordial and if you treat them nicely you will see they are as human as most of you are. From Bangers and Mash to Wing night, we have always enjoyed our foodie experiences. Lastly, the Managers always take the time to acknowledge the patrons at some point. When was the last time, you expeienced that?
Consistently Good. A co-worker and I have been going to Newcastle after work since it's in the neighborhood. We always comment on how consistenly good the service is - and we were both servers in a former life so we're pretty picky.
The food is standard pub fare and it is also consistently good.
Lots of TVs with sports on, lots of beer and good wine to choose from. So happy this neighbor moved in!

Newcastle Pub. I ve been going in for months now. The food has gradually been getting better and better. Ive had the shepards pie and the mac and cheese everything is amazing. The Chef at newcastle pub is amazing!!!! Keep him on board.
Great Local Pub. Nothing to say but Awesome Awesome Awesome! After a nice Wednesday out with the girlfriend we stopped for an early dinner here. Sun was out, staff and customers alike were smilin, and the beers were flowin!
Even though it was INCREDIBLY busy, we were still waited on to a tee. Drinks were refilled by any passer by wait staff, and our waitress was right on cue. The food was excellent!
We shared the Yorkies, which was AWESOME, and a BBQ chicken pizza. Both were up to snuff. We tried quite a few of the 12 beers they have on tap, and all six were cold, bubbly, and refreshing. Perfect early dinner for a Wednesday!
Awesome!. I live a few blocks away in Killarney, and this is one of my favorite places to go. Very nice interior, great service, and even better food. The deep fried pickle spears are amazing. I've never had an issue with service; always consistently good. It's definitely worth checking out Newcastle Pub.
Another ho hum bar. I live close by so am happy to have this bar nearby. OK for a quick bite when you do not want to cook. Lots of TVs for the game. Do not expect too much and you will not be disappointed.
We keep going back - love this place!. It's so refreshing to have a local pub that's a great place to unwind after work. My husband and I find ourselves heading there about once a week either by ourselves or in a group. Great food, friendly staff and good music that's played at the perfect volume so you can enjoy it and still carry on a conversation without yelling at the people you're with.
Great Local Pub. I live right by this pub and was very happy once it opened. I like places with good atmosphere and easy going patronage and Newcastle has done a great job of creating that "neighborhood pub" feel.
Added bonus is the food which is great! The pizza and ribs are favorites of the house hold and we order out almost as often as heading over.

Local Favorite. I live close by so this place is a natural choice. The atmosphere is good, the place is clean and the food is better than most.. a bit cookie cutter but tastes good. The pizza is surprisingly good. The biggest problem is getting a seat but once you do the service is fine... not great but good.. Overall this place has a huge amount of potential and once they overcome the growing pains I think it will be part of the neighbourhood landscape for many years to come.

To jenn k. I do not work there. I've been going there with my gf and family many times. Never had bad service or bad food. The management you are talking badly about, I see them talking to the customers. When I go there I see a lot of happy smiling people. I like the place and have recommended it to many of my friends and they have all loved it. I mean it positively " you go Newcastle" thanks for the good food , service and atmosphere. Dave. Well another great experience at Newcastle. My daughter and I went after work and our server Aishah was great. She had a smile on her face and was very friendly. The baked Mac & cheese with bacon inside was a treat I will not soon forget it was that good. My daughters shephards pie was so big she could not eat it all. This place is soo good that I'm on my way to pick up 2 pizzas and some wings for friends. Thanks for the excellent meals and service. Have a very merry Newcastle christmas

I must be on something according to some of the people posting. My gf and I like Newcastle very much. Today was the end of 2 verrry long weeks at work and both my gf and I said "Newcastle". Were we dissapointed "NO" Service was very good the server checked in with us to see what we would like. To check if we would like refills and to see how our meal was. Also another guy"Jason" came by to ask how our meal was and I had to tell him that their meat lover pizza is one of the best pizzas I have ever had. My gf loves their Cobb salad and loves the fact they use real turkey. We have gone there like 10+ times and have not even had questionable service. Newcastle if there is a concern addresses it right away. I have also been in customer device industry for 34 years and can appreciate nice down to earth people like this that I have met at Newcastle.

Just left Newcastle pub after some great wings and sweet potato fries. My gf loves their Cobb salad. We got there just after 7 and the place was packed to the rafters. The manager came up and took care of us and got us seated as quickly as possible. The music was not as loud as another person mentioned which was nice. I would give tonight's visit to Newcastle a 10. And it was well deserved. They are working out the kinks and keep getting better :) one of the customers sitting recommended the wings and I'm glad I listened :)

4th time here 4th great meal. 4th great French onion soup. The people here treat their customers right. My girlfriend gave her Cobb salad a 9 out of 10. The special of the day French fries were awesome. Sarah the manager came and checked on us to see how everything was as well as the owner came by to check on things. If I could give it 5 thumbs up I would. Btw. The red pepper dip is beyond wowwwwwww

What to say about the Newcastle pub. My girlfriend and I were there on the first Friday when they were way busier than they could handle. The servers tried their best and the manager Sarah was taking the brunt of a lot of the people's displeasure. We saw everyone trying Nd we gave it a second try. We were not dissapointed. Second meal was better and service was improved. We tried a 3rd time. This time on a Sunday, the place was packed as usual and the manager on this day was also hands on with the customers. My girlfriend had a pepper and this made her cough several times and all of a sudden this server out of nowhere brings my girlfriend a glass of water. We now consider this our LOCAL. These people at the Newcastle try to make your meal enjoyable. That is all I ask. Thanks !!!
Promising pub. Although they haven't "officially" opened, this place is already a hot spot. I've been here a few times already and I will be back many more. The food is great and atmosphere is awesome. The one downside so far is the service - it can be very slow (even when it's not busy) and my order has been messed up more than once. I'm sure they'll work out the kinks though.
Excellent atmosphere and staff. Came in around 2:30 on a Wednesday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. The waitress was super efficient and friendly. She greeted me within a few minutes of sitting down and got me a drink promptly. My food came out quickly and was of amazing quality. Definitely will be coming back and likely bringing others here. If you like a nice place to sit and have lunch or visit with friends, this is the place. The music isn’t loud, and people don’t have to shout over each other. The gentleman next to me was working on his laptop and seemed able to focus on his work without distraction. Great location.
Newcastle Pub is a mainstay of my friends and I after a grueling day of disc golf. What keeps us coming back is the staff, the food, the location and finally the ambience. Lots of TV's for sports, lots of beer on tap and lots of tables for your crew. I have never had a bad experience there and the Sunday brunch is fantastic.

We recently moved to Calgary and wanted to try this place out. Excellent service, genuinely beyond expectations. Food was decent, no complaints wish I had tried the fish and chips though. Good selection on tap, and to be honest really good prices. This place hits all the bases you want in a local pub. It'll be my go to spot

There is an extension of the patio which makes the capacity even greater. I've come here multiple times, even though there are pounds closer to my residence, because the staff is great and the food is top notch. We showed up around 4:30 looking for a table of 10+ people. They were able to accommodate us without a question. Thank you Newcastle people!
