Have been coming here to have a quick dinner between work and after hour meetings. The service is great, the happy hour snacks and drinks are a great price.
I have had the wings and the pizza, more than enough for one person on each front. The pizza is huge and very flavourful. Loved it.
Came here for wing night. Was fairly busy and nice and warm inside. Don't know if we would come here on another night as their other menu items seem to be very pricey. Wings were good, a little on the small size but spiced nicely. Hot wings and salt and pepper were tasty. Greek had a good flavour but a very weirdly textured sauce on it. Would come back for wings again.
Francesca was the name of our server that night. She made herself memorable because she was so pleasant and helpful. Thanks to her help the food we enjoyed was prepared ideally for our tastes and she was attentive with out being overwhelming. My date and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and we are looking forward to our next visit....especially if the service will continue to be as good as our latest experience
Great vibe, great drinks and always a good time at this Neighbourhood pub!! You can't go wrong checking out this pub for the night whether it's a casual date or a few with friends.
I have been for weekend breakfast several times. It's usually not too busy. The food is pretty decent with standard breakfast offerings. We like to sit on the patio in summertime. Not a bad place for a simple breakfast.
This is one sports bar/restaurant we always come back for wether for chicken wings or burger as they always makes us drool with flavor coupled with superb staff to serve you and lots of big screen tv to watch your favorite sport or game . . .
Wow, the range of beer you get on tap here is sure to impress! There's a big selection of European brews and a few local Alberta brews too. Don't go looking for a Kokanee or a Bud Light Lime because you'll be out of luck. Food is the highest quality bar food I've ever had in Calgary. I had a pulled pork sandwich with some deep fried shrimp in a siracha-based sauce. Those shrimps had me over the moon and the pulled pork was pretty good for a place that doesn't make their pork sit in a big ol' grill for 24 hours with some wood chips. As Arnold says, I'll be back.
Brunch Sunday, portion generally huge, French toast and tacos good, chicken Brie excellent only the omelette seemed skimpy, no toast?
1/2 the French toast and sandwich went home for later
Buck a shuck Thursdays. We gathered for beverages and oysters. We asked to sit on the patio and were easily accomodated. Our drinks and a dozen east coast shucks arrived in a timely manner. Mmmmm. Once the sun had dropped below the horizon we asked to move inside and we were graciously "boothed" even though the place was pretty much full of hockey fans. We ordered dinner and a second round. Everything arrived together - tasty. We also had the assistance of a helpful staffer when we couldn't think of the name of the home of the Bluenose 2. He checked with the chef and indeed, Lunenburg was the name we were seeking. Hurrah! We had a great time at 1600. Many thanks to the staff. See you soon.

Hands down the best pub burger in Calgary. Super tasty with a bun that soaks up all the goodness; then doesn't get soggy! Friday night burger deal is well worth the money.
I don't know what Ryan is talking about! This place has the BEST brunch! You can tell that they make their hollandaise sauce from scratch so of course it isn't hot! Maybe head back to Dennys where it comes out of a package. I'm sure they aren't aware that the sauce is made from eggs and what happens when you cook eggs.. Such a shame to see awful feedback due to ignorance.
Anyways, I HIGHLY recommend this place, anytime of day. The World Burger is amazing and the portion sizes are large as well!
Can't forget about the beer selection as well. I have been to this place numerous times and have yet to try most of the beers.

Went here for a girls night out. I don't normally drink but I had the summer sangria and it was very good! We shared some nachos with chicken as an appetizer, and they were the best nachos I've ever had. Not one soggy chip in the gigantic pile. I had the world burger and it was ok. Not bad but not great. Ordered the mushroom soup on the side and it was fantastic! The service was excellent as well. Will be back
Went to 1600 on Saturday night for drinks with 4 friends. When we came in the place wasnt very busy, as we had a long night of drinking ahead of us we ended up switching servers part way through the evening. Both of our servers were friendly and accommodating. We had some food which was very good (I had the quinoa wrap) but mostly tried new beers. Great recommendations on drinks from our servers. The restaurant became very busy and our second server somehow managed to provide us with excellent service even though she never stopped running. As the restaurant began to slow again she spent time getting to know us- remembered our names, she was absolutely hilarious and put up with all of our drunken antics with a smile. Very charming, unique and sweet girl! You can tell that everyone working enjoys there jobs which is something to be noted, our server was constantly laughing and even dancing with another server. Very happy. Will definitely be back!
Yummy caesars, great garnish! Only complaint was they brought half of my food at first and I had to wait for the other half...I'm a person who likes all my food at once, sampling the tastes...but overall great, nice patio!
Fantastic Menu and Atmopsherics. Love the food and quality of the menu; although, pints are a bit pricey but you definitely get what you pay for.
Definitely a place to go back to (especially patio) and I enjoy the friendly staff and excellent service.
Heres Three words that I haven't been able to shake throughout my entire vacation to Calgary Alberta; Apple Bacon Brie! From the second that succulent alliteration travelled from my eyes to my ears, to my final bite, I have never been so captivated by this phenomenal and unprecedented sandwich. The sandwich is clearly a result of a perfectly managed kitchen staff complemented only by a flawless and stunning wait staff. I would like to personally thank the manager on duty, rachelle, as well as my waitresses Morgan and Brie for making my afternoon and my week a memorable experience.
I first came to 1600 about a month ago and have came back many times since! The food is always quick and delicious. They have an amazing selection of beer that caters to all different pallets. I have never had a bad experience here! The staff are also extremely friendly. Everyone should give this place a chance!

My wife and I have been to 1600 a few times and have always enjoyed ourselves. I have yet to find gluten free options better than what 1600 serves. The food is tasty but not incredibly innovative. I would definitely recommend the spicy luau pizza and the lobster pasta. If you are looking for a quiet meal I would suggest you go elsewhere.
On our most recent visit we had a server who was cheerful and seemed genuinely interested in us which is a rare quality. She even asked us our names! Our server was very attentive to our need but we tell she was stressed. A woman I could only assume was a manager seemed impatient with her staff but appeared to be the only person working who was not busy. I felt our server wanted and could have given exceptional service but was unable to because she was so busy.
The restaurant was pretty full but we were happy with our visit overall. The beer was good as was the food. Reading other reviews posted here I just want to say that our servers have always been great and you can tell they are doing their best to keep up!
Awesome place!. I will always love this place. I have never had a bad experience dining here. The staff is always cheerful and hospitable, the beer selection is phenomenal and food is affordable, fresh, local, organic. My favorite is the Lobster Mac & Cheese, which I've tried many other places, but 1600 blows it out of the water by a long shot. I've gotten many friends and family members hooked on this place, I always feel comfortable and fully taken care of. One of my favorites for sure!
Decent pub with a ok menu. Nothing special but no complaints either. Wing nights wed and Sunday are pretty cheap and they also have a good beer list.
Gluten free beer & pizza. I have thoroughly enjoyed every visit to 1600 so far. The gluten free options are extensive and delicious, with a surprisingly good gluten free pizza, and numerous (not just one!) gluten free beers to wash it down. Service is always good. It gets pretty busy (and rightfully so), so it's always good to make a reservation first!
Yes and No. I use to like it a lot but lately food and service has been hit and miss. The girls are more concerned with their looks rather than actually serving customers. Some items on the menu are really good, example the globe plater, but others are disappointing, example their flat breads (too much cheese and nothing else). They need consistency with the food and service.
Good Beer. Tried this place for the first time recently. The beer selection is fantastic and the food is pretty good. We will definitely return.
Excellent service. Great place, great servers and good food. I go Sunday nights for wing night and have not been disappointed. Only recommendation would be to have REAL ALBERTA BBQ sauce for the wings as well as the option of paying by Debit.
White Truffle Pizza. WOW- I've always had good food at all of the Bier Haus' but had to write about this pizza, because it was amazing!!
An outstanding selection of cheeses, garnished with white truffle oil. This pizza proves that simple is better!

Nice Lunch Menu. We met a friend for lunch and had a challenging time deciding between sandwiches. My husband chose the lobster salad sandwich and I had the souvlaki. I made the better choice. A tasty, juicy (and a bit messy) pita roll. The lobster salad sandwich was okay, it was lacking the zip that the souvlaki had. Definitely worth a few more trips!
Love it! The wife and I are delighted to have found this lovely establishment. After reading some of the negative reviews on here I just had to chime in with my two cents. We have been on at least four occasions and have never had issues with either service or the food. I love the atmosphere, and the quality (and quantity) of food is fantastic. I love the drink suggestions in the menu.
Good food and fast service. I do think it depends on the time of day you go. We were there at 5pm and honestly, we were eating our soup/salad by 5:15. Everything tasted great. I know that it looked like they were a little short staffed but our service did not suffer. If you are looking for a nice community pub/grill where you could feel at home, give this restaurant a chance.
Yay for evening, brunch was lacking.... Though I've only been there twice, there is a big difference between the evening and brunch service and quality. Evening was fabulous, decent service, great food, large selection of beers. Brunch looked so promising... but the server we had was so slow (and it wasn't because it was busy... it wasn't busy), food took way too long for a brunch service, and presentation was lacking (especially with the grilled banana bread, really, just a a few pieces of fruit to finish the plate). It just seemed like the staff in the back didn't care or want to be there.
Would love to see the brunch service get better, there is so much potential...
Interesting and delicious. Nice beer selection for flavor and international choices. Not an overwhelming selection which made it easy. Had the French Dip- excellent beef and a lovely rosemary au jus- and the bison-beef burger - a thick, juicy, big mouth burger. Strong flavor from the Caesar salad, very enjoyable. Music was a bit on the loud side, but overall a great place. Give it a try if you're nearby!
Professionalism at its finest! I forgot i was at a pub. The server was so friendly and practically had the menu memorized. She answered all our questions and made recommendations. Half way through our meal we had a manager check on us and even gave us a history lesson our our brews. Top beer selection and great classic pub grub, if your in the mood. The cleanliness of the washrooms was stellar!
The food and beer selection is great. I love their steak frites. The food is amazing for the low price. If downtown, check out their sister restaurant 1410 Bier Haus on 17th Ave east of 14th Street.

The daily specials are great and I love the fact that beer is paired with everything. A nice change from wine! The servers are always friendly and seem to know their stuff. The brunch menu is great and all at reasonable prices. They have a wide variety of choices on the regular menu such as pizza, salads, seafood and steak.
I would recommend this place to any one who loves good food and beer with great service and atmosphere.

This place is great. Friendly and customer service orientated staff. Lot of space, especially for big parties or birthdays.
The food here is awesome. I've tried a few different things each time, and have yet to be disappointed. The Yam fries are exceptional!
Looking for a night out? Saturday nights at 1600 are so good. Great music.
