Review Denny's - Calgary

Great service from our waitress LARA ☺️!! The food was pretty good, it wasn’t tasting as great as I remember it. (Still tasty) the eggs are always perfectly cooked! 🍳💕 Spent a little more this time because I was so hungry 😆

Can't beat Denny's! we were seated immediately, and our server was awesome! we did the Cinnamon roll pancake breakfast and the strawberry vanilla crepe breakfast. 10/10 everything rocked.

Great service CHARO, nachos and chicken wings are best to start. Medium well T-bone steak satisfying. We love to come back again.

I usually order skip the dishes online from this Dennys . And on sundays I like to come with my family to eat breakfast there . The food is good and tasty and the price is decent . I was a bit upset when I found out that they were out of the T-bone steak and eggs for a few weeks but now that it’s back I’m going to continue to order it all the time

I'm not sure who the new cook is but I have ordered on 2021-12-04 via delivery and this is the masterpiece the could come up with. Over cooked, crunchy hashbrowns mixed with burnt grease (that resemble hickory stick chips), Super greasy bacon that hasn't been strained and buttered toast which has not completely melted, much like buttering cold toast. By far the worst compilation of food I have ever recieved from Dennys or another establishment, yet. I doubt this is a whole restaurant issue but is most definitely a kitchen staffing issue. It would also be assumed that napkins, utensils and ketchup (when requested) to be included in the order. But, not here.

How do I put into words the experience that is "Denny's." Let me set the scene, you walk in and the first thing you smell, the acrid stench of when a piece of food chars beneath the burner of a stove. The sound of mid 2010s pop, fills the air along with the clamour of the 4:00 rush of grandparents and their grandchildren. You take your seat at a booth and are handed a menu, containing a vast selection of cuisine, from steak, to roast turkey, to spaghetti, and everything breakfast - a personal favorite being the strawberry pancake puppies, an alarming name for an even more alarming experience. The server comes with the drinks you ordered, minute maid orange juice and a lukewarm iced tea, both served in a plastic cup. As you are looking over the many options on the menu, you glance up and notice doctor phil lecturing on the TV. You place your orders and as you wait the show ends and Ellen DeGeneres is now dumping oat milk on people's heads. In the meantime, the elderly couple across the aisle from you who sat down ~15 mins after you, has been served their food. Another 15 mins passes and your food arrives, a platter of fluffy buttermilk pancakes with bacon, eggs and hashbrowns. The whole shablam. While the first few bites taste great, you realize the food isn't hot, only warm, and cools quickly leaving every bite to suck the warmth from your mouth. The rich, treacle syrup overwhelms all your senses, leaving you feeling sick and heavy. You pay the bill to the sound of Justin Beiber and leave, desperate to escape as fast as possible. All in all, there's a 50/50 chance your food will come back up in a couple of hours, or out the other end in a violent fashion. Denny's really is a once in a lifetime experience, because once you've been, you surely won't go back.

Great service. We had dinner one night at this place and our server was Charo. She was awesome! Super friendly, very helpful and answered all our questions concerning our orders. You can tell that she is very knowledgeable when it comes to her line of work. And the food was amazing. Our whole dining experience overall is very pleasant! Would definitely come back to this place!!!

Personally this was my worst visit to Denny's I have ever had. Their food has really gone down hill. My last visit the server forgot to bring our food as she was serving others that came after us. After this mishap last time, we waited 6 months and decided to give them another shot as the kids requested. It was abit busy, And the server was trying. But the quality of food was horrible, my wife's eggs were overlooked, one of my girls pancakes were undercooked and there was a teaspoon of sauce on my other girls spaghetti. Really disappointed Denny's and will not be returning or recommending to anyone.

Great staff . I was seated and served in professional manner. Food came out quicker than expected and was delious. It is always a treat for me to stop For breakfast here. I been to humptys a few times of late and food was bland and thus also brought me to dennys. I'll be back

This Dennys has really gone downhill in regards to food quality. The servers were nice and helpful as usual, but the food was horrible. Ive been a returning customer for years and unfortunately will now be looking for a new diner to bring my family. Really disappointed as my children have come to know this spot as our go to when out and about, in need of a quick meal. Not sure what happened but, yeah, we wont be coming back and sure as heck won't be recommending this place anymore.

We just left Denny's on McKnight and 4th street NE - as we decided we wanted breakfast for lunch. All was good until I saw one of the waitresses constantly eating off the customers' plates - she even dipped her finger (and licked it) into their soups and sauces. I told our server about it and she said it was the owners' daughter so there wasn't anything she could do about it. I empathized and decided as a customer, I could however do something about it. So I put a complaint into the health inspector. Do you also find that absolutely revolting? Would you have reported it? I'm second guessing myself.

The servers are very friendly and service is quick. The food is really good and the restaurant is very clean. Would recommend this location to everybody.

This location is always consistent in all manner, it's a good place to go.

When I commented about Fox News on their TV monitors plus the fact this is Canada and was told that the channel cannot be changed to a Canadian News Channel. Even the floor manager on duty can't change it. Apparently, it is Denny's Policy to push Fox News onto us rubes. Just lost a pair of customers... Not impressed am I....�

Worst experience ever Have to chase the waitresses around for your order well there. Off standing in the coner talking about one of them having a baby i mean congrates on the kid but there is two of them serving and 5 ppl in the resturant and no service its a shame

I and my husband enjoyed a lot. Courtny's service was superb. We loved it.

Best Denny's in all of Calgary iv been many many times and never been disappointed! It's definitely a hot spot to eat!

I'm almost always there after midnight, due to my work and lifestyle. So, I can't speak for the days but I am always very happy with the food and the service!
