Always good and tasty. A bit pricey for delivery but you get what you pay for. Great service when you eat in the restaurant. Great hot pots.

Satiates the hunger pangs. Went to Toi Shan after getting the oil changed at Mr. Lube - which is perfect as both businesses are neighbours and close by. It was close to 6 pm, and while not busy it was bustling.
I decided to order the dinner for one, fried rice, ginger beef, sweet and sour chicken, wonton soup, spring roll, and fortune cookies. Food service is incredibly fast, not long after I had sat down, my order was ready to go. This makes me wonder : did they use the leftovers from the buffet to fill the order ? Nevertheless, despite the 15+ min drive home, the food was still hot.
What I liked most was the food wasn't overly salty - perhaps slightly bland but I feel that is a good thing. The soup for the wontons (5 wontons) was tasty, the fried rice was good but could've used some more 'fillings' like shrimp, bbq pork, ... I enjoyed the ginger beef but it was more on the soggy side (this goes for the sweet and sour chicken), however the 15+ min drive home may have contributed greatly to the sogginess.
The spring roll is vegan, but the wrapping nice was and crispy - I should note that it had a deeper darker golden brown look, perhaps overcooked or dirty oil.
The food overall was decent, it filled the hunger pangs. Going in I expected this to be another 'run of the mill' western chinese food eatery, and to some extent it is, on the other hand the menu also stated it had peking duck, and not very many western chinese places I know of serve up peking duck.
Next time I'm at Mr. Lube getting the oil changed, I may pop by for either dinner or supper.
Toi Shan. Yes, this place could use a serious face lift and in its current state is more suited to take out, but the food is always fresh and tastes great. The portions are completely huge (really the "dinner combination" is enough to feed 2 people), so keep that in mind when you're ordering everything individually. The peking duck is amazing, its probably got enough calories to sustain you for the week but they're so worth it.
FOOD IS FREAKING AMAZING, KENT SUCKS.. Love the food here; every time the quality is consistent. Sometimes I drop in for lunch when I have the time and their lunch buffet is just amazing. Highly recommend !!
Very enjoyable. I've been eating here since I was a kid on and off. They never disappoint. Run by a family. They do fast delivery or hot and ready for pick up with a discount. I love it

A True Fan. I have been going to Toi Shan for as long as I can remember (probably ever since they opened). There food is always delicious and they never seem to disappoint. I have even eaten here with local celebrities including (but not limited to) ex Mayor Dave Bronconnier and ex CFL player/Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Norman Kwong. I do think that the restaurant is in need of more space because of how popular its become.
I absolutely love Toi Shan. They have an awesome selection and great prices. Their salt and pepper squid is fantastic. I definitely recommend it, this is the only place I go for Chinese food.

Hot Fresh Food, Fast Service. We discovered this restaurant through Urban Spoon a few months ago. We wanted to wait until we'd tried it a few times before posting a review. We've eaten there several times now and this restaurant has become our new favourite place for Chinese food. The service is generally very efficient, and the food comes out hot and fresh-tasting. I usually order the Stir Fried Palace Vegetables with cashews in garlic sauce, and steamed rice. The veggies are always cooked tender crisp and aren't covered in that gummy sauce that you sometimes find in other places. I would definitely recommend giving it a try if you are in the area.
Banjo Tofu. Its something else, you have to try it (if you like tofu).
Awesome food. The food in this restaurant is always hot, lots of flavor, very tasty, and the service is always awesome! We've also done pick up and the food is still of the same high quality, and it doesn't take forever to get it!
I highly recommend this restaurant! The inside of the restaurant, if you're staying, if very small, and a bit cramped, but the food/service make up for it!
Great Food. We have been eating at this restaurant for years and the food is consistently great. In fact, since being out of the area, we make a concerted effort to travel and pick up our favorite dishes. Highly recommended!

The buffet is always the same: ginger beef, sweet & sour pork (sometimes chicken), pork dumplings, mixed vegetables, fried rice, black pepper beef, Shanghai noodle, typically fried chicken and always a wonton soup. While severely limited when compared to other Asian buffets in the city, what Toi Shan does make makes it very well. Regular lunch and dinner entrées can br purchased at any time, and the aforementioned buffet is only available during lunch hours. Plate sizes are big, which is a plus, but you are charged for white rice and green tea by the head, which is a real bummer. That said, service is worth noting - the staff are always very friendly. All in all, a sexalicious experience at an affordably sexalicious price. Would buy again A++++++++++
Fantastic Food!. A few years ago we were lucky enough to try Toi Shan.
We had driven past it many times on the way to the Westbrook mall.
For a few years we were without a great Chinese restaurant after our favorite place Golden Lantern went out of business after a change in ownership.
This is more of what I refer to as Western Style Chinese food, and there is nothing wrong with that.
The service has always been great, with special attention always paid to our 3 year old daughter.
The food has always arrived hot and extremely tasty.
Some of the items that I highly recommend are the Salt and Pepper Squid or Salt and pepper sea food.
Egg Foo Young, and Chicken Chow main.
The Won Ton soup is always very flavor full and the Won tons are not over cook.
We have go back to Toi Shan more times than I could even count.
Great food, great service and excelent prices! What more could you ask for?
Another evening of amazing food and wonderful service! A great family night out - my nephew especially enjoyed the special attention he received. He tried the “French fries” aka calamari and loved the fishy potato’s - haha. Always great food and fun - will be back again soon for our chopstick lessons! Thanks to the owners and staff.
I have been eating here for a little over two years and I do have to say that the food is outstandingly consistent and delicious. I do recommend the ginger beef it is one of the best things on their menu and also the chow mein is delicious. The food is not greasy and the service is professional and friendly. Would recommend to friends and family, five stars.!
Great tasting dishes with good flavor. Our family really enjoyed the duck, the hot plates, fried rice, ginger beef and the salt and pepper squid. Prompt service and friendly staff.
The lunch buffet is open again! Salt and pepper squid Fridays is back! The dozen or so items they offer for lunch are all delicious. Best buffet for $15.95

I went with a group of six, two in my party in wheelchairs, and they were super accommodating to our group. With great prices, tasty food, and big portions, I’ll definitely be back
