Review London Fog Cafe - Calgary

Genegie B
Update May 2018: New ownership took over and the quality isn't what it used to be. The products seemed to have been substituted (too salty) for a cheaper price, but charges for the same if not a little more. The coffee was just a really poor quality and too hot; I couldn't finish it. The service was great but the quality of the product did not justify the price. Old: A homey mom and pop cafe place were you get home made sandwiches which is a great cozy place to hang around. Their bakery treats looks homemade and very enticing to eat them all. It reminds me of grandma's baking and I highly recommend this place for a quiet place to hangout and catch up with friends.

Ordered the Grilled Chicken sandwich with the side salad for delivery on SkipTheDishes and everything was AWESOME! All fresh and delicious. I was very specific with what I wanted on my sandwich and what not, and they followed the instructions perfectly! I would highly recommend this cafe!

Friendly service. Chicken and beef is halal. Their London fog is, naturally, delicious (and sweetened with honey!) And the generously portioned banana bread is moist and flavorful. I'll have to come back with a appetite :)

A tasty sandwich shop nestled in a plaza, they serve tasty bites for a great price with excellent service. The smoked meat sandwich was quite good!

What a pleasant experience! Such wonderful staff and absolutely delicious food. Their Roast Beef Sandwich is legendary! Grilled chicken sandwich was very good as well. All day breakfast, delicious lunch and homemade pastries really set this diner apart. All halal too!

The workers were very friendly. The food seems small but it will fill you even if you order one item. The food was cooked right after order so it was hot and fresh. The eggy bagel was delicious and filling. The London fog omelette was good and the toast soft and crispy. Very good place if your nearby and if you don't want Denny's.

Awesome cabbage rolls, great price 2/ $ 6.59. Coffee is excellent.

I used to frequent this cafe when the previous owners were there. They will be missed. The new owner is very welcoming and friendly. The squash soup I had was delicious, as was the hot apple cider. I also had a tuna sandwich which was very good but a bit overpriced, I felt. I will go back again and try a coffee and dessert. The desserts looked delicious!

I first became a customer of London Fog Cafe in December 2018. I had an appointment in the adjacent complex and I needed something hot to drink prior. I was warmly greeted by Hedi. She was so sweet and cheerful and really brightened my morning. I had a delicious London Fog. I have been going to London Fog Cafe regularly now and have purchased omelettes, soups, sandwiches, and baked goods. All meals are prepared from scratch and are delicious. All the women that work at the Cafe check to ensure that your meal is satisfactory. Meals and service like this DO NOT exist at places like Tim Hortons and McDonalds. For all kinds of beverages, treats, and a variety of meals I strongly recommend visiting London Fog Cafe instead of the chain restaurants. I have honestly never met such attentive staff as the women that work at London Fog Cafe.

There appears to be a change of ownership. London Fog, no longer knows how to make a London Fog (you need to put vanilla syrup in it). I’m not brave enough to see if the rest of the menu is holding up. Someone else do it.

I love cozy cafes and this one has a lot more to offer in selection and quality than a lot of other cafes in the area. So many delicious homemade foods and served with a smile. This is a favorite go-to place for any time if the day for me d i know will enjoy it too. Thanks London Fog! Ill see you ladies again soon!

I've waited all Easter weekend to come here on Monday to get my sandwich. I got a clubhouse on white with chips. The sandwich was awesome!!!! the chips weren't stale. They use fresh turkey fresh bacon an actual cheese not the processed kind. the ladies inside were so warm and friendly. And my Clubhouse only cost me $9 and change.
I am a sandwich fiend so I will definitely be coming back!!!

The staff which I'm sure 2 were owners seemed nice to customers but I heard how the older man talked to his employees it did not seem to nice and how they like stalk your table for you to leave to clean is not very enjoyable and my veggie sandwich tasted like meat obv things aren't cleaned right very cheap on dressing and sides I will not return

The staff (I think they were the owners) were extremely. We had the smoked meat and clubhouse sandwiches and both tasted great and very filling. Will be back again.

Don't let the grey-haired audience deter you young bucks, this place is the real deal. Sandwiches made from scratch right behind the counter, homemade soups, baking galore, and breakfast all day. Do yourself a favour and get The Famous Eggy Bagel and a coffee. If you still have room when you're done that grab a giant slice of banana bread to go.

This place is kind of tucked away in the shopping plaza. I've been coming here for about 2 years now and their sandwiches are great!! You get lots to fill you up! Glenn & Patti (the owners) always welcome you with a smile.

The chairs are a tad uncomfortable, but I always get take out so that's not an issue for me.

First time here, I was having a terrible morning and then I found this gem. I walked in and everyone was friendly, I asked for a bowl of their Borscht and a BLT sandwich and I was just so happy when she arrived with my dish. Half way through the lady came and asked how it was so far and I almost cried. It really made my day. Easily the best soup and sandwich in Calgary. Thanks guys I will be back...

Great place!!. We stopped here for a great cup of morning coffee, and a yummy breakfast.

Cute couple greeted us, and we're very hospitable. They also had soy milk and almond milk which is important to us as my wife cans have dairy.

Recommend coming here

Celiac punished. We were new customers at the London Fog today, and the borcht I ordered was okay, after I asked for some dill. The soup came with several cracker packages, but I am celiac, so I asked about gluten-free bread, and yes they had it, but it was extra, and I thot over $6.00 for a bowl of soup was pretty pricy anyway. So again I felt penalized for being celiac. If I were mgt. I would have offered 1 slice of gluten-free bread, instead of the crackers and gained repeat business. As it stands I probably will not go back.

Cute cafe with homemade treats. I had pasta salad and an iced caramel coffee. It was just ok. Wasn't good enough for me to return.

Excellent food. Friendly service. Reasonably priced. Went for a quick bite with my Mom and 4 year old son the Borscht was wonderful. The staff were so friendly and attentive and took extra care to let me know my sons egg sandwich was hot before I served it to him. Will definitely return.

Great casual atmosphere. The food is fresh and made to order. I haven't found a soup of they day that they don't do well! Pride of ownership is evident here. The banana bread...magical!

Delicious, fresh, and home made!. On my first visit my wife and I were thoroughly impressed with the service and the food. The owners work the shop and take great care to ensure you are happy. The home made Italian Wedding soup is excellent- very hearty and tasty! And I love the Ruben sandwich... and the grilled chicken sandwich.

Overall this place is excellent! Highly recommended especially for the price.

A Great Breakfast Start. A friend of mine goes here every week for breakfast so I figured it was worth a try. I had the omelette and was really pleased. I chose the bacon option, lovely crisp bacon in the omelette with plenty of veggies and cheese -- a great start! My husband had the bacon and eggs and told me he would go back again -- that's a pretty high compliment in his books. I definitely would go again, if not for breakfast to try some of their lovely baked goods and sandwiches.

Yummy!. I stopped into The London Fog Cafe this weekend and will be going back as soon as possible!
I like the casual atmosphere and the staff was very friendly.
I ordered the day's special (hot dog and smoothie-$6-great value) And it was wonderful. The hot dog, while difficult to mess up, was still remarkably good:) Big and juicy, all-beef weiner, grilled until crisp all the way around and served in a cute little hot-dog dish. The smoothie was an ice-based creation, which I don't ordinarily care for, but on that hot day, the slushy consistency was perfect.
Both people who were working came over (separately) and checked to make sure I was enjoying my meal and cleared my dishes promptly, though did not make me feel like I was rushed to leave. I sat for a while and read my book in comfort.
I will be back to this little gem soon to sample their homemade soups and delish-sounding sandwiches.

Good job guys!

This cafe had everything you want in a cafe-freshly made meals, homemade baked goods, delicious soup and, need I mention, a perfect London Fog!!!! If you want to have a relaxed meal and enjoy the ambiance of what a cafe should be like, go to London Fog cafe (and don't forget to take a few cookies for the road)

Posted on February 6, 2015 by Jamie I love little cafes where you canst and have a nice warm beverage, a little snack or a light lunch. These types of restaurants are just my cup of tea. Unfortunately London Fog Cafe is closed on Sundays, or usual dining out day. So when bestie and I decided to hang on a Friday instead of our usual Thursday evening, this seemed like the perfect spot. Also, it’s conveniently located right beside one of my other favourite places to be…a second hand bookstore. Unfortunately we both came out empty-handed in that case, no books that tempted us on this particular day. Lunch however, was a nice little stop. The service was very friendly, the coffee was great and the little egg bagel I had was warm and fresh, made to order and delivered to the table. Soups, sandwiches, salads and baked goods will await you on your next stop to London Fog. After much debate I settled in on the grilled Reuben and soup which was the daily special. The sandwich was delicious and grilled perfectly.
