Always a favorite ever since. We have been going to this place for over 20 years. The staff are attentive and friendly. The pizzas are highly recommended, so are the pastas, the souvlaki, the steak sandwich, the calamari, I can go on and on.

Loved this place so much!! I got an 8oz steak and shrimp and it was so tender and juicy, most definitely the best steak I've had. Also what made the experience 100 times better is the waitress cindy. She has an amazing sense of humor and is fun to be around. The experience was awesome and you should give this place a chance.

Went in for supper on a Friday night. Busy place, super friendly service. We ordered the vegetarian pizza and Greco's special. Both pizzas were good! A tad bit wait on delivery of food but that could clearly be because they were busy. Will return to try their other dishes.

Greco's has been open for over 40 years. To stay in business as long you must be doing something right. I have been coming here since 1988. It is the best quality food that I have had at a pizza place. They make awesome Greek salad pizza and lasagnas.

The best meal, best service, best price iv ever had, seriously. I had the steak sandwhich. Came with the toast (which I couldnt eat due to gluten allergy), rice pilauff, and sauted vegys. Then I got a choice of 2 more sides!! I chose salad and another scoop of the rice. Could have had fries, stuffed potatoe, mashed potatoe, or soup. Everything was perfectly done. Salad was crisp and fresh with grn peppers, diced tomatoes and quatered onion. PERFECT!! We had ice tea and coke for drinks. Our waitress was on top of everything. We waited for nothing. She wasnt intrusive and constantly interupting our conversation. She was very down to earth and pleasantly professional. My dining companion had the same meal and drinks I had. Our total bill was $50.00. OUTSTANDING!! Taste, quality, and quantity was out of this world, far better than Earls, Joey Tomatoes, Cactus Club, and Milestones just to name a few. I WILL BE BACK WITH A FEW FRIENDS IN TOW!!

Do not go here u might be accussed of not paying ur tab the last time u were here, that is exactly what happened to me wed the 26th. I went in there with a friend about 7:10 pm, we were there for about an hour when the Filipino waiteress/bartender came over to me & should me a tab for 26.00 & change & said I did not pay my tab last time I was there, I told her u have the wrong person, she did not listen, she told me to never come back, while this was going on the owner of the pub was sitting right beside us with his greek buddies he heard what was going on & stood up & took over where she left off, he took the tab from her & confronted me very aggressively, I told him u have the wrong person, would not listen, I took out my bank card to pay for the beers when he tried numerous times to grab my bankcard, when he relized I was not going to pay that previous tab he grabbed me & manhandled me to the door( very unprofessional & was drinking) He confused me with another person owing that. Footnote: the cops r handling this right now !!!!

Service was beyond excellent! Food - amazing. I ordered the #21 pizza and my fiancée ordered #26. The pizzas both had an abundance of toppings including tons of cheese. Cooked perfectly. I almost always never eat the crust but their crust is perfect.<br/><br/>This was our first visit and we will definitely go back. Luckily it's only 15 mins away.

I cant believe the bad reviews for this place....<br/>Went there last night for the first time and it was unbelievable. The place was packed. It smelled delicious. Full of familes having a good time and enjoying their meals. The owner brought us our appetizer and welcomed us. We had calamari and 3 entrees. Each of us had lunch left for the next day, we were stuffed. Amazing food, crazy value. Will be back again and have told my friends. Our server was lots of fun. Nothing bad to say at all.

The worst place for food. My wife daughter and I all got sick. Couldnt stop running to the toilet. The service was shit. The lady that runs the front is not friendly!!!! Avoid this place at all costs unless you want to get food poisoning.<br/>

We ordered take out, $70 of food we couldn't eat. The wings were more grease than sauce and the Greek wings were flavorless the dried ribs were just deep fried pork chunks. When we phoned to give them feedback on the food, they ate rude and dismissive. Never ordering from here again.

HORRIBLE wet, soggy pizza me and my boyfriend had it delivered. It was about to fall through the box it was so damp! I was grossed out! We had to remove the pizza from the box and throw it in the oven to maybe get it a bit crispy. NEVER ordering from Greco's again.

I've tried to order food for delivery on more than one occasion and they don't honour the hours printed on their menu. The staff answering the phone are extremely rude and hang up without explanation. Three strikes, they're out.

Love the food. I don't go to George's for the ambiance or the service but it is my favorite restaurant in the area. I'm a fan of the pub side which has awesome daily specials making it a pretty affordable place to eat. They're $0.35 wings every day are also awesome as splitting 10 wings for an appy for $3.50 is a nice luxury. I will say after 10 years of eating here (by no means being a regular, my visits are sporadic), the service really isn't that great, and it's not really a cool place on the inside. The ambiance actually has some appeal to me, as I don't feel bad showing up in my sweat pants or after a hockey game. My girlfriend and I usually go here if we don't feel like getting dressed up to go someone nicer, and are always happy with the meal.

One of our Favourite places to eat!. We finally decided to stop by and try Greco's about 4 months ago, based on the positive Urbanspoon ratings. Since then we've been coming here about once a week and it's on our list of favourites. The pizza is excellent with a slightly sweet sauce and lots of cheese and toppings. The food is consistently good. The atmosphere is casual and happy-busy, especially on weekend nights. The staff are always friendly and efficient. We're quite often seated in Cindy's section - she's very personable and knows what we like to order. Our only regret is that we didn't try it sooner.

Awesome Pizza/Attentive Service. Ordered large vegetarian pizza with italian salami. The pizza had a crusty cheese topping and lots of toppings. Very Tasty. The only negative was that there was no separator pan to keep the pizza bottom from being soggy if toppings were watery. The restaurant was not really busy midafternoon. The server, Cindy, was very attentive and was on top of her game. Great place for pizza.

Delicious pizzas but be prepared to be treated very rudely if calling in for a delivery order. Typically you speak to a inconsiderate person who is short tempered and will not be very accommodating when you ask any extra questions. They also are horrible at answering their phone with any promptness.

I phoned 1/2 hour before 1100 pm closing, Saturday, greeted by a older man's voice with a real Greek accent!! I thought I hit the jack pot. I ordered a medium House special, #26, and a Greek salad. The Greek man said it would be ready for pick up in 1/2 hour. I picked it up at 11PM and drove home like a mad man. I opened the box and dam near had a heart attack. It looked every bit as good as it smelled on the ride home. I attacked the pizza first, welding a defensive tone to my wife, who took two pieces and said it was great. I must say this pizza was really, really good!!! I had stuffed four pieces down and was pretty full. I then attacked the salad, who my wife once again commented, hey Big Dog, this is really nice!! Once again I welded my defensive tone and posture and issued a caution against eating too much of it. I finally ate the Greek salad and it was mmmm... good, yummy!! I rate this place a 10 out of 10!!! I hope they stay here for ever!!

Never a bad Meal. My friend and I are regulars here, and usually get the pizza, which is fantastic. Tonight we opted to try a Greek dish, the chicken souvlaki. We were not disappointed. It was delicious. The service is the icing on the cake. Our usual waitress is a lovely person with a great sense of humour and lots of personality!

Greco's Experience. "Smitty's feel with Spiros pricing" is the best way to describe this establishment. I wanted a burger so I tried this steak house for the first time, but apparently Greco's is the world's first steakhouse where you cannot order a hamburger. I decided to go for the fish and chips as the cheapest alternative I could find which was still $15, with a bonus $2 charge to upgrade to a greek salad. You know you've made a critical ordering mistake when you find out that you are getting a kraft single-serve tarter sauce with your fish and chips. Furthermore, the whole entree excluding the rice came straight from the freezer. Identically shaped fish "molds" are accompanied by your typical carrot-pea bag of frozen vegetables hidden at the back of the shelf in a Walmart freezer. Hoping that the garlic bread would save the day made my meal that much worse when I discovered it was merely white bread with garlic butter on top. A fun challenge might be to see if you can eat the whole piece of bread without a drink and manage not to choke. If you did though, the grease from the fries would help to move the bread down your throat, in which case, the fries would come out the championship accompaniment of the meal. All in all, if this entree were priced at $4.99 as a weekly special, I would probably consider having it again sometime in the next decade, but I'd make sure to bring my own tarter sauce.

Tasty. We ordered a XL Greek pizza and a large meat pizza for $50.00. My bf found it way too greasy, but I thought it was tasty. Lots of topping and a crispy old school type of crust. I preferred the meat pizza over the Greek, which was pretty much like a vegetarian pizza as we couldn't find any meat. Pricey. I wasn't crazy about the cheese either. I think I'll checkout some other places just to compare. Hanni's is still best in my books. Service on the phone was good.

We eat at georges every month, hands down best calamari you can find and weve tried hunderds. The food is always good. The two female waitresses are extremely weird no no boundaries and make inappropriate comments. I dont know if this is part if the family aspect but we personally find it annoying.<br/>As usual lastnight food was great. The waitress brought my salad and not my husbands, she didnt come back so i asked once his meal was brought. The food was brought all waay to quickly we were still eating appy when my salad came and i was half done my salad when meals came. She asked if we needed hp i saud yes and it never came at all. We had to remind her of the water we ordered when we sat down, twice. The long island tasted like tequilla with flat coke was so bad i could drink it. My husbands pint of draft was mot the kind he ordered and with neither of us drinking our drinks and continuing to ask for water one would think she would ask why but shw didnt. When the bill came she charged him $17.95 for a jug of draft instead if $5.95 for a pint. That was fixed then i noticed and you should pay attention as this was the second time now theyve charged me $20.95 for the $18.95 steak sandwich. <br/>But again the food makes the weirdo bas waitresses worth it.

Fantastic food and service!. I go to Greco's every few months to get my souvlaki and calamari fix. This place in my opinions has the best calamari hands down. It's a huge portion and is enough to fill you up even before you dive in to your huge entree. I always get the pork souvlaki with rice and a ceasar salad. I think in all the times i have been there, I have only managed to finish my entree once. I usually end up with it being sent home in a doggy bag. Not that I'm complaining, because for $18 it is definitely a good portion size. I love the service and the waitresses, and have never had a problem with anything when I go there.

Good food & service. Went to Greco's Feb 3 -2012, have not been there for many years. Found the pizza to be excellent, my wife had the halibut which was very good. I don't know what the fuss is about regarding the service. Our server Cindy provided friendly and very efficient service. I found the prices to be very reasonable for the portions given; also found the liquor prices very competitive.<br/>Look forward to returning.

Just like family..... My boyfriend's parents have been coming to this restaurant for 25 (?) years and I have to say that over that last couple of years I enjoy it every time. Not only was I made to feel as though I was a regular from my first visit but like family every time. The food is awesome and the staff are wonderful! <br/>CINDY is far from "crabby"! She is more than efficient and sooo fun. All the staff are great! <br/>Hope to keep coming here for another 25 years plus!<br/>I reccommend this place! <br/>Also - can't imagine what you could do to Cindy to make her "crabby" but I guess... it's possible to rain on anyones' day huh?

Great Food. I have been going regularily to Greco's for over a year. The lounge has daily food specials, including good 10 cent wings on Tuesdays. I find the "crabby" mentioned waitress not crabby at all. You never have to wait for a beverage & she ensures you have the exact food you order each time. She is very efficient & funny. Now a days you go to other restaurants & end up with a dim whitted server that is too lazy to make sure you are satisfied with your meal. Greco's has amazing portions & all the food items I have order have been excellent.

Consistent good food. Contrary to other remarks, I am a big fan of this restaurant. I have never had bad service or crabby service and rave always about their non greek salad. It really is good regardless of lettuce being in it. So what if it isn't true the Greeks. Their souvlaki is amazing, accompanied by their stuffed baked potatoes. All their food is really, really, good. I have been going here for over 30 yrs.and always look forward to going back.

I was reading the other reviews and I am not reviewing the waitress but the food. Venice Special pizza, lasagna with meatballs, Greek salad, souvlaki were ordered at our table topped off with baklava. We all tasted a bit of everyone's meals and loved the pizza! I was surprised by the diced tomatoes cut in the pizza instead of on top,not greasy crust was just right. Greek salad was huge for a side portion and lasagna had a hint of cinnamon in the sauce. The waitress I think everyone makes cracks about is a bit eccentric but like Guy Fiore would be amused by her!

Best Pizza in the city!. Easily the best Pizza in the city. <br/>However, there seems to be some concensus as to the poor service. And this reputation is well deserved. Let me say that the majority of the waitresses that have worked in this palce are fine, but there is one waitress that has been working there for over ten years that is the crabbiest waitress that I have ever seen! I recommend take out, rather than eating in. Admittedly, this place does get very busy, so I can understand their stress level is pretty high, but they should try and learn how to deal with it.<br/>Yet the food is great, which is the reason why this place is always busy. My brother-in-law says they serve the best lasagna in the city. and everyone I know loves their food. <br/>I highly recommend this place, hopefully you dont get served by "crabby". And trust me, you will all know who I mean when you go there.

Great food. Huge portions, which i like because I am a big eater. I love that they give you toast with your meals. Didn't think it was too much money at all. I read in another review that they weren't fond of the lettuce in the Greek salad. I suggest you order the "village" Greek salad, there is no lettuce in that, it is traditional. I think they put lettuce in the other one because us north americaners are a little more accustomed to it in our salads. That being said, they have got to have one of the best Greek salads in Calgary.

It's actually quite expensive and the while you get cery large portions, you'd think they could at least offer smaller sizes (and if they already do, better advertise them). What's more, with many of the entrées you get a slice of cheap over-buttered toast (I never eat it). They could definitely cut this out and drop the price a tad because paying $18.99+ is pretty steep. Mind you, the Greek salad is tasty (albeit cut with iceberg lettuce, essentially rendering the salad illegitimately Greek). Pizza taste is nothing spectacular, but their twice-baked potatoes are to die for! Service... average. The waitresses all always seem to try to talk to you like you're their best friend; sometimes you welcome this treatment, other times you quickly tire of it. While you may consider that excellent service as they are merely establishing a rapport with the customer, this can be provided without all the little personal stories and pleasantries. Overall, I'd probably give it a 7/10.
