Hands down the best poutines and smoked meat sandwiches in Calgary. They get their meat straight from Montreal and offer a variety of sizes for their sandwiches.. I dare you to try their executive 14 oz. The prices are very good considering the portion sizes- smalls are NOT small. The atmosphere is super cozy and the staff is efficient and engaging... Check it out. You won’t be disappointed!
I loved it! Rueben sandwich with pickle and fresh cut fries! Service was fast and super friendly. Cold beer made for a perfect Saturday lunch!

Love myhres. Always have! Their Reuben is amazing, huge portions and yes, that's just one side of fries. Always had good service there. It's one of those places you have to go to in Calgary.
I love the sandwiches and hotdogs here. The Myhres hotdog, topped with montreal smoked meat is so good. They also serve great floats. A small, charming, neighborhood gem!
Now THAT'S a sandwich! Montreal smoked meat, when done right, is wildly good. They do it right here. Have it with a soda in a glass bottle. Great lunch.
If you have a craving for a good Montreal Smoked meat sandwich you will not be disappointed! The soup is also amazing - I think it's a coconut Thai chicken. Servers are very friendly and are always working as a team. Just an all around good atmosphere.
This is the first time I've eaten here although I have lived in the belt line area for years and have been to their sister diner, Galaxie, many times. The atmosphere is friendly and staff are engaging with customers. The smoked meat sandwiches are some of the best I've had, juicy and tasty. Great selection of sodas rounds out an awesome deli experience. I will definitely be back.
Embarrassingly I made my first trip to Myhre's the other day despite it being around apparently forever in my erstwhile stomping grounds of The Beltline. What a fail since I've been missing out on a super-quaint lunch-counter deli restaurant that serves up real-deal Montreal smoked meat deli and other savoury deli treats. I had the large ruben (being a sauerkrautophile) and have to admit that no matter what the price ($14.25) it made the last ruben I ate a sorry pretender. The Real O.G. I was with had the roasted Turkey which again Didn't disappoint. I will be back no doubt but will aim for o e of the specials since they appear to render better deli-value....

Really good poutine. The gravy is perfect for poutine, the fries are crisp, not soggy. The staff in here are really amicable and friendly. I will for sure be back here.
Go there. Now. Great New York turn of the century style- Reubens to die for. Coleslaw is healthy non creamy. Pickles awesome. Thai chicken soup daily.

Myhers is always delicious. The service is great, the room is cute & cozy, and their sandwich and beer for $10 can't be beat! A great neighborhood deli.

Great. Want to take all my friends. I like montreal smoked meat so this place is heaven for me. The staff is great. The restaurant although rustic is not in disrepair or dirty. The meat is moist and flavorful. The different mustards you can get are great and make it a different taste everytime. The pops supplier they use makes great pops and is a big treat with people around the table googling the company to see where they could buy cases of the stuff.
Very affordable for what you get as well.
Chicken Pesto Sandwich to Die For. This beautiful little deli, right next door to the Galaxie Diner, has absolutely fabulous food at reasonable prices. And, the staff will go next door to make a milkshake if you so desire. The Montreal Smoked Meat sandwiches are divine, but so is the Chicken Pesto Sandwich. I'm always torn when I have to make up my mind. Watch out for the drinks, though. They can drive up your bill which would otherwise be very reasonable.
Great reuben sandwich. It gets served with ripple chips, pickle and coleslaw. You get to choose what type of mustard to put in your sandwich (out of a really good selection). Coleslaw was my favourite side. Very light (not creamy) and very good.
The only thing I (very slightly) missed was not having thousand island dressing in the sandwich, but the mustard was still great.

The interior was charming with wood booths and a bar that you could eat at. The place smelled right as soon as you walked in... wafting with the smell of smoked meat, a meat cutter slicing away and I spotted a huge tub of pickles. FINALLY! A great smoked meat place in the city... They even had a cooler full of gourmet sodas including cherry cola which should really be drank with smoked meat. Here is what we had... I will definitely be back!
Hands down the best poutine in the city and the best smoked meat sandwich in the city. Super impressed by it all. The staff are there to help you out with the menu and are always aware of your water levels. Just an amazing place with amazing people 10/10. Just wish they were open for longer :,(

The sandwich was very nice, great meat portion and the bread was perfect.
The coleslaw was special, it has some garlic! Fresh and crunchy. The pickle was really fresh and crunchy as well.

Absolutely love Myhres Deli. Its a Calgary icon! Fantastic food, great service and location. We got the Traditional cut and medium poutine and that fed both of us.

I love food from Montreal/Quebec and having lived in Alberta for a couple of years, I was really missing the good food that we have over there, So I was looking forward to getting that experience again but in Calgary.
The Quality of the food was very nice, my tuna melt wrap was very satisfying, the coleslaw salad is very light and healthy.
The Quebec all dressed hot dog I got was very good but it was not very authentic, first of all where I'm from all dressed is made with relish, mustard, choped onions and coleslaw and in mine there was no mustard or chopped onions at all. Secondly usually our hot dogs are called "steamer" because they are steamed and so is the bun, but the bun while being excellent gourmet style bun it was not steamed or grilled so a big missed opportunity here when the sausage is warm but the bun is not.
Finally the poutine I got was probably the most authentic item, it was a very good poutine but the gravy was very thin, we usually use thicker gravy and a little more gravy overall, the cheese was excellent squeaky cheese like you would expect and the fries could have used a little more cooking to reach that golden crisp a little more.
All in all, it was a Great experience and I was satisfied with all my food, it's almost like they turned my typical Quebec junk food into a more gourmet experience and with a couple little tweaks I feel like this location could be a 5 stars deffinately.
I recommend this Restaurant.

OK, so I have to change my original 2 stars review for 4 stars! I called and spoke with an employee after my first review as I was so unhappy. He promised to make it up and he sure did. I came back today and it was really good. Extra gravy on the side to be safe but it was good as is. Curds were fresh, gravy was excellent.

Dry and gravy-less baked potatoes with cheese... disappointing. This "poutine" had French fries that are not actually fried and there was about 5 mL of gravy in the whole poutine... the only positive was the cheese curds. Pretty bad for a retaurent that claims that they specialise in skeptical Montrealers... I'm from Montreal and I'm not impressed at all!!!
Absolutely Great! I am from Montreal and have been in Calgary for 1 year. Finally tried this spot and was very happy I did. Went in for the Boss Cut and it reminded me of sitting on the main back home , having a sandwich and black cherry. Delicious and highly recommend for all smoked meat lovers.

Today I stopped in to check out this place after reading about it on one of the foodie groups on Facebook and I would have to say it lived up to the hype. I have eaten lots of smoked meat sandwiches in my time and these guys have it figured out and by far the best I've ever had!
Right from the time I got through the door the vibe and feeling I knew I was in for a treat! The atmosphere was amazing, I got to meet the owner Brian and had a nice little chat with him.
You guys are doing it right, don't change a thing!
