Review Ogam Chicken - Calgary

Tihomir Todorov
Love it. Crispy chicken like no other... Wow. Staff was very friendly. Terriaky chicken had a bit more sauce that I could bare but it was prepared well! And the Soju... Wow, juice that makes you tipsy lol... Loved it! Would recommend!

The food was delicious(creamy garlic chicken is a must) and good portion. The staff are nice. One of the best korean resto in town. *Need to present Covid vaccine passport together with ID for dine-in.*

Have been to three Korean chicken places in Calgary and was not terribly impressed. This is the best one I’ve been to so far.

If you never had Korean fried chicken you are missing out! Korean fried chicken is so crispy and it isn't oily and the Ogam does it justice. The pieces are huge and fried to perfection! I absolutely adore it! It's always been consistently good here and the service is amazing too! I highly recommend this place :)

Oh my word! This place is so good. The staff are so friendly and fun to talk to. The food is divinely delicious and so wonderfully saucy. Their menu made everything look so delicious and we had a hard time deciding what to eat. We over ordered and our leftovers were delicious too! Can’t wait to get back to Calgary to visit again.

Friendly staff. Clean and cozy Korean restaurant. I am impressed with the choice of their food! Very delicious and appetizing! Kudos Ogam chicken. We will be back soon.

A friend and I went to this restaurant today... We were pleased with the food as well as the price. The staff we're friendly and accommodating. We had the chicken and onion rings. The chicken was tender and juicy(Not greasy) the onion rings had some kind of cheese powder on them, I was skeptical at first, but learned it was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant... we will be going back again. 5⭐

Exceptional costumer service. I was waiting outside since I have no car or place to wait nearby, but she let me in and even give me a bottle of water while waiting. Plus the chicken is 1000% delicious. Definitely my go-to next time.

We decided to give this place a try since it was the first restaurant to pop up when you google Korean fried chicken and it had a fairly good star rating. <br/><br/>We were seated quickly by the male worker. We were given menus however we were not notified that we were supposed to order up at the counter and pay first, until we saw another couple do this, so we ended up wasting a good 5 minutes waiting. <br/><br/>Upon ordering at the front counter the female worker took our order no smile, no friendly attitude, very cold and serious. No problem, I can handle that! But then she asked me if I wanted drinks and when I told her water, she stated "we don't give tap water here." I wasn't sure what my other friends wanted to drink so while I asked them, which took less then a minute to the decide, the girl at the counter had the NERVE to let out a big SIGH OF DISCONTENT because we were taking too long. I looked behind me to see if there were other people waiting in line to order, and NOPE. Just us. I decided to tip as I always do since we were dining in. After leaving my tip the female worker's demeanor changed with "thank you and have a good day". <br/><br/>We got the combo A, with onion rings (too much batter, undercooked and very oily) a large cheese fries-just a heads up- its POWDERED cheese and sweet. Fries were a bit soggy and nothing to write home about) The chicken is probably the ONLY good thing that we ordered. however compared to other Korean fried chicken joints out there, it was jst ok. Tteokbokki were too soft, definitely overcooked and way tooo spicy to the point where it wasn't enjoyable-and trust me when I say that my Asian friends and I can handle our spice. Disappointing to say the least.<br/><br/> We got a grand total of 5 ketchup packets for our large fries and onions rings so I asked the male waiter for more ketchup. He pointed at the 5 ketchup packets and said "you have some", to which I replied "yes and I'd like more please" we got 5 more packets. BUT WAIT THERES MORE. HAHA <br/><br/> I notice that we weren't given a proper to go bowl for the Tteokbokki so I bravely go back to the counter to ask the female worker who sighed at me earlier for one. She says to me "I already gave you to-go boxes" I replied "yes I know but I don't want all the sauce to leak out." She gives me a small sauce container and I shake my head and say "No I need the bowl with lid behind you." And she says to me "thats for to-go orders only." I say to her "thats what I want." She hesitantly gave it to me as I wasn't gonna let this lady tell me what I should and shouldn't use to pack my food! I jst couldn't believe how AWFUL and STINGY and RUDE the servers were. Also FYI for a can of pop here its $3. <br/><br/>THESE WAITERS DONT CARE ABOUT SOCIAL DISTANCING! A large group of people entered as we were waiting for our food and all of a sudden EVERY SINGLE TABLE in this tiny restaurant was FULL, and believe me we were not 6 FEET APART. This made my friends I extremely uncomfortable. My recommendation: Give your business to a local restaurant who actually give a shit about your health and safety FIRST before making money.

I ordered the 5 piece crispy chicken. It was very nice and crispy, but not dry. Honestly, the 1st piece I ate was really good. However, onto eating another piece... I started to feel gross from eating it as it is deep fried. I just felt like I've ate too much oil for the day.

I tried the soy garlic chicken and onion rings and both were good.  The onion rings were acceptable and the chicken was very crispy.  This is not a place that is trying to minimize the amount of batter.  It is a heavy panko batter.  But it was very crispy even with the sauce and still perfectly edible the next day.  Service was good.  It was a little odd as they don't want to let people order after 830 with a closing time at 9.  But I snuck in prior to the "last call."  Others that weren't so lucky were not happy about it.

Haven’t been to the Kingsland location only the MacLeod trail location but I’m sure the food is consistent across both. I really enjoy the food, I always get the same thing every time I go - the beef short ribs and the crispy Ogam chicken. That combination never disappoints. The chicken is so crunchy and always so tasty. I would recommend coming here if you haven’t already! It’s an added bonus that I had good service at the MacLeod location aswell.

Only tried the fried chicken so far but thought the value and taste were very good. Would go back again to try more of the menu! Very friendly and quick service.

We go to Ogam about once a month and we love it! It's conveniently located across the street from Chinook (in the strip mall with The Brick Mattress Store) and there's always lots of parking. They accept debit and credit, and you go up to the counter at the end of your meal to pay (don't wait for your server to bring your bill). Not sure if Ogam used to be in a different location but the first picture on this page looks nothing like the current entrance. Also, the map on this page shows Ogam to be right in the intersection of Glenmore and Macleod but it's actually directly across from Double Zero at Chinook (on the east side of Macleod). The address listed is correct though.<br/><br/>The food is amazing! Seriously! The fried chicken is so crispy and delicious! The chicken is moist, the breading is flavourful and the pieces are huge. My favourite is crispy, my fiance's favourite is seasoned. I like the seasoned too but I'm not a huge fan of having sauces on fried chicken, so I usually opt for crispy. I will say that even with sauce, the chicken is still very crispy. We usually order a combo that comes with 3 pieces of chicken; choice of rice, onion rings or wedge potatoes; a pop or tea and a small salad. You can't mix and match the chicken flavour in this combo, it's all crispy or all seasoned etc. but you can add an extra piece of chicken in any flavour (for a small fee depending if it's a leg, breast or whatever). We also order the sweet and spicy chicken (which is my personal favourite menu item) and then just share everything between us. The sweet and spicy chicken is pan fried chicken (not breaded) chopped up into pieces and tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce with some grilled vegetables like onions, zucchini, and shredded carrots. I think the chicken is dark meat but it's hard to tell with the sauce, could just be super moist white meat. The sauce is really quite spicy but so delicious. I love spicy food and even I have a bit of trouble powering through the first few bites. The sweet and spicy chicken also comes with a few little side dishes. There's a bowl of steamed white rice and some small bowls of a cold bean sprout salad, macaroni salad, and kimchi. This meal doesn't come with a beverage included like the fried chicken combo though. For the two of us the 3 piece fried chicken combo and the sweet and spicy chicken is plenty of food to share. <br/><br/>The service at Ogam isn't terrible, but it's not great. The servers are always very nice but their English is usually not that great which might throw non-Korean speaking people off a bit. I've never found it to be a problem though, they know their menu items just fine and most of their menu items are numbered which simplifies things so the ordering process has always gone very smoothly for us. I think a lot of people go to restaurants in Calgary expecting the servers to do the typical "elevator pitch" at the beginning where they introduce themselves, tell us a bit about themselves and the restaurant, list off the specials in detail, take drink orders and automatically bring water for everyone at the table and then check on us every few minutes. It's just not like that at these kind of restaurants. In our experience with Ogam just go in expecting to get good food served to you by nice people who are trying their very best and you won't be disappointed! Side note, the girl who stays behind the counter co-ordinating everything is super nice! You only really talk to her at the end of your meal when you go up to pay and she is just the sweetest most friendly person ever so I just wanted to mention that :)

We love Korean chicken and have tried many other fried chicken places around Calgary. <br/>The service is terribly slow here. The 2 servers wouldn't even acknowledge us when we wanted to order. 15 mins in, we were finally able to order. We waited as take out and delivery orders go out the door. 45 mins later, our food was still not here. The servers were avoiding us as they knew we have been waiting. Finally, we asked how much longer the food would take. We were told another 15 mins. We ended up just leaving. <br/>We have had other freshly made Korean chicken, it never takes this long. No apology. No acknowledgement. Just a simple "our kitchen is busy". We saw another gentleman walk out after waiting for service.

Mmmm Korean Fried Chicken – the alternative #KFC. There are now so many options in Calgary, but Ogam, located right across from Chinook Mall remains as one of my favourites. I love both the original crispy and the soy garlic that is just the right combination of sweet and savoury. Maybe next time I will try something new on the menu, but for now why mess with a good thing?

We order the Family pack thru skip the dishes app. The pack came with 10 pieces of seasoned chicken, chicken bites, salad with ginger dressing and side of onion rings. The pieces of chicken was big, super crunchy and crispy. We liked it but I thought there was a little bit too much coating which made it really filling. Would try different flavour of chicken next time or sit down and try some of the soups.

Ogam Chicken is across from Chinook Mall and I’m guessing it can get pretty busy at times, since their website suggests pre-ordering your chicken so you don’t have to wait. We were craving fried chicken after running some errands, so went for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered the Crispy Fried Chicken (5 pieces for $12.90) with the Hot Soy Garlic Sauce on the side ($1.50). There were a lot of dishes we were not familiar with, but the photo of the Gamjatang (spicy pork backbone soup) looked really good. We got the small for $14.90 and it was huge. It also came with rice, kimchi, bean spouts, salad with a ginger dressing and pasta salad. We were totally stuffed after our meal and we didn’t even need supper!

We have been here now a few times and are always impressed with the service, the food and the location. It is a clean area and easy to come in and eat. Good, authentic Korean food. Only thing that could be better is the presentation of the food but that still is pretty good.
Tkadventures
Came here today, first time trying Korean fried chicken, we order the gamjatang, creamy garlic chicken meal and spicy soy chicken. Batter was very well done, chicken was not dry at all, large portion for the price we pay for a meal. The soup was also flavourful came with this sour dipping sauce for the meat which added great flavour! Will definitely be returning. Rated only 3.5 because service was very slow... Waited a few minutes to get seated while there was many open tables, should have just picked a table ourselves, then waited a good couple more minutes for the server to take our order because his other coworker kept walking away after seeing us waving at him....

We have come to this place on numerous occasions and i have to say the food is consistently wonderful. Even though I've tried some fried chicken sauces I didn't like too much, the chicken was so juicy and delicious that I didn't mind. Only once i found the chicken might have been over battered, but the batter is delicious and that's a criticism that only crazy health nuts might care about (despite the fact they're eatimg deep fried chicken) The rice cake appetizers are very tasty. The bibimbap is a nice relatively authentic treat AND they use an actual stone bowl so the rice is deliciously crispy on the bottom. It's remarkable how many korean places don't do this, so bravo Ogam. Hats off to your chefs. Unfortunately this is an asian establishment so that means service sucks... Like a lot. Last time - Had to ask 3 times for a plate. Twice for water. Wasn't event given a bucket for chicken bones (which is normally given to you when you order chicken). They're lucky the food is that good.

Above average fried chicken very satisfied with the portion and service was good. Will want to try different items on the menu as looked very good

I've been going here since it opened, and I must say, service has definitely gone downhill since. I know how in any Asian restaurant service is usually pretty slow but it took 30 minutes before someone took our order. Tried waving the waiter over so we can order and all he can say is "sorry I'm busy". Also asked for a to-go bag to wrap the leftover and the waitress made us wait for awhile. Had to get up to the front counter and ask for one instead. On the other hand, food is good. But I prefer to eat mine when I'm not frustrated from the lack of service. Why we didn't walk out, I have no clue.

Pretty disappointed  with the portion and for the price i paid. I order a original bibambap and literally it should have egg and beef etc. but there is literally a tablespoon of minced beef. I mean they can be a tad more generous, i hate getting ripped off. My recommendation is not to order the bibambap if you go to Ogam.

I absolutely love Korean chicken so I had to give this place a try! Wow way better than I expected! I tried the soy garlic and seasoned chicken and they were crispy and the meat was perfectly tender. I really liked the seasoned one, which is sweet, medium spicy, sticky, and crispy! My friends had the beef short ribs and Korean traditional bibimbap and they all loved it! The server was very friendly which added on to the pleasant experience. I will definitely come back to Ogam for more chicken and try the other Korean menu.

Bad Service staff and management are very grumpy people, some of our orders was omitted chicken was not good full of breading never coming back here

Went there to order for take-out. I was excited to try their food since it was highly recommended by one of my friends. I ordered the Ogam chicken set menu (5 pcs.crispy,5 pcs.seasoned and 5 pcs. soy garlic). They asked me if i wanted the soy chicken spicy or not and i said i didn't want it spicy since i don't like spicy food. Went home and when i looked at the soy chicken, i knew it was spicy since it had chilli flakes on top and when i tasted it, it was indeed spicy. I tried to eat the other ones thinking they wouldn't be spicy but they were all spicy! Called them and told them about the situation and asked if i can exchange it for something that's not spicy. The guy on the phone old me that he'll speak with the owners and call me back. After a minute, he called me back and said that all of their chicken were supposed to be spicy.WHY ISN'T THAT INFORMATION IN THE MENU? AND IF EVERYTHING WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SPICY, WHY WOULD THEY EVEN BOTHER ASKING ME IF I WANTED THE SOY CHICKEN TO BE SPICY OR NOT SPICY? I told them that and they asked me what i wanted to do. I told them them that as stated earlier, i just wanted to exchange it with something else even for a bulgogi or pork belly. They told me that i couldn't exchange it and that thy can only give me a refund. They asked me to return back everything and we did. When my husband went there to return the items after a 15 minute drive, the owner insisted that customers love their chicken spicy and i was the only one that complained. I spoke with my friend and she told me that their chicken is not supposed to be spicy unless you ask for it. They didn't even apologize. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I do not recommend this place AT ALL.

I'm a bit behind on my reviews. Last week, on a random weekday off from work, I headed down south for some eating and shopping. Located across from Chinook Mall, this tiny restaurant offers yummy Korean fried chicken and other Korean specialties. The first impression when I went in was to order at the counter and then take a seat, but I was wrong. As I made my way to the counter, a server asked for how many, and then she directed me to a seat. The restaurant is tiny with only 11 4-top tables. The server brought over the menu, but I ready knew I was getting the fried chicken - as my goal is to try all the Korean fried chicken in the city.

I have been going here ever since I found out. I'd say every month because it is close to my house. But I can say that the quality declined as months passed by. Hit or miss sometimes as well when it comes to the crispy chicken. I went there with a big group of people and the manager( the girl who is always in the cashier section) had to make us go away after we had paid. I found that a bit rude since we had paid more than 150 for the whole meal. The service is amazing when it comes to giving food asap but not so much when treating customers consistently. <br/><br/>For sure, the crispy chicken quality is not the same from last year. <br/>I only go here now if I really do not have the time to go to YumYum Chicken near TnT. YumYum Chicken serve bigger chicken parts and always have the nicest workers.
Kathy
Best fried chicken in Calgary! So fresh and crispy! I also enjoy their wedge style fries never soggy. I hope they open more locations soon!
Dawne Law
The food is delicious and affordable! Servings are also quite large and great for sharing with others. Service is definitely really fast - from taking your order, serving, and even getting your bill settled. The waitress was really friendly and asked what we thought; pleasant and cosy atmosphere in this fairly-small location. I love it and will go again!

This is my number one favourite place to have fried chicken. I've been here 4 or 5 times in the last year and the quality of their fried chicken is always excellent. The chicken comes out extremely crispy, very hot (which means they just made it), and perfectly cooked on the inside. I recommend getting the platter where you get 15 pieces with the three difference flavours. It's hard to choose a favourite flavour because they're all delicious.<br/><br/>If I were to rate Ogam on their chicken alone, this review would be a solid 5.0. However, some of their other food offerings are rather expensive for the portion you get. For example, their glass noodle dish (japchae) is about $10.00 but it is a rather small portion. We also tried a hot pot chicken dish which was about $30-$40 but again, for the amount that you pay, the portion you get just doesn't really make sense. Regardless, this place is THE place for Korean fried chicken and I will gladly come back again and again.

This is my go to place whenever I'm craving some Korean style fried chicken. I've tried all the flavours now and I can't say a bad thing about any of them. I can't speak for any of the Korean BBQ options here, but if you are looking to have same fried chicken in Calgary, look no further than Ogam.

Small and spacious restaurant with entertainment TV to watch Korean music videos. <br/><br/>As we sat down and read the menu, we were greeted with a funky smell of old sanitized wiping cloth. That was a turn off, but the smell went away once it was dry. <br/><br/>I ordered the spicy chicken combo with lettuce, rice and side dishes (kimchi, bean sprouts, macaroni and corn salad with a side of soy bean paste. My girlfriend on the other hand got spicy soy fried chicken with salad and onion rings. On top of that we ordered a 5 piece seasoned chicken.<br/><br/>The service was fast, all of the chicken were cooked thoroughly, crispy, spicy and intense flavor. A little nice touch to my spicy chicken was the addition of kimchi to my chicken which made my dish saucy. It was a great dip to the crunchy lettuce. The seasoned chicken is one of my favorite as it has loads of nuts and I highly recommend for nut lovers.<br/><br/>Overall my experience was good and will definitely come back to try more of their awesome dish like gamjatang.
JC
Ok for a quick place to pop in for a bite but not amazing.<br/><br/>The coating on the chicken is a bit hard, the chicken tasted like frozen chicken to us, we ordered spicy and regular in our chicken pieces and couldn't tell the sauces apart. <br/><br/>The server was polite and attentive and I liked the Kpop videos playing as it gave me a sense of high school nostalgia.<br/><br/>Overall I think I'd make the trek to Airdrie for Yum Yum. Actually KFC chicken with korean sauces on top with banchan sides and some korean yogurt soju.... That'd be my heaven.

I remember visiting Ogam before for dinner and was blown away by their service and their fried chicken that seems to be fried in super clean oil. My memory of that experience was easily 4/5.<br/><br/>Last night, the man and I ordered off skipthedishes.ca and the fried chicken was only mediocre. Not much flavour and the skin seemed darker than the last time I had it, like it was fried in old oil. The onion rings were huge but a bit too much batter. The bulgogi had the right sweetness. The sides that came was a bit disappointing. Better in the restaurant. My favourite was the tofu soup. It didn't seem like much for $14 but it was packed with tofu and egg. It was not spicy which is what we wanted. <br/><br/>I'll most likely stick with the stir fry and soups, especially for take out. For fried chicken, I may go elsewhere for the interim.

The longest wings i had wait. Well, I am still waiting while I am doing this review.<br/>I came in 1645 on Friday. Just order the 15wings set. <br/>Now is 1940 and waitiers said need more 5more mins<br/><br/>well this is my first time I visited but I don't think there are any awesome in this earth worth to wait an hour or more.<br/><br/>Maybe it taste good but well time is money.<br/><br/>Oh well i am still waiting..

It was alright though not as good as I've expected. Overall, the whole restaurant services were very excellent; accommodating, friendly etc. But I find the food alright and I felt that I've tried the same dishes from other restaurants. I understand it's their version but I felt that the prices were not worth the taste. My fave was the Ogam chicken bites. The sauce on top was amazingly delicious!!!! Whatever it was, it was sooooo good. Although it had tiny bones in it which kinda destroys the enjoyment. But of course their original fried chicken was great too, a different version from Yum Yum chicken in Southland.
Kpena260
This is my favorite restaurant ever!. Their crispy chicken reminds me so much of Jollibee Chicken (famous filipino fastfood) which is why I keep coming back and a lot of Filipinos go here. I really love their ogam bites and bulgogi. Their customer service is also good as well!
Ken Yeung
I love this place at first, their fried chicken was very crispy, juicy with very full chicken taste, I highly recommend. But the last two times I went food quality has drop deeply, they started replacing to use large Chicken wings and drumsticks, which it has no taste of chicken, maybe due to the price they charge.<br/> Also the last two visits, my order has used refried chicken from don't know when, can tell from the bone inside the meat, it's not juicy at all, only dryness, "which is very very disappointing"<br/> hope they will change their way of treating their customer and food as they used to, if not, customer will never go back again.
Serbrina
Portion is small for the price except for the Korean chicken. They were big pieces but had way too much sauce on it. The bulgogi was too salty. Will not be coming back.
Lizard
:^). Note of warning: THE CHICKEN PIECES ARE HUGE! We ordered a basket of fried chicken in addition to other food, and when the server came in with the chicken we realized we probably made a mistake. When you consider the size of the chicken, the price is pretty fair. They tasted good too, and I'll definitely be coming back to have some again.<br/><br/>The beef bulgogi was a bit disappointing (dry, not too flavourful) but that won't stop me from coming here again or trying out the other things on their menu. My friends who had the bibimbap and kimchi soup had positive things to say about those. <br/><br/>I'd also like to pay my compliments to the service! For some reason (lots of takeout orders?) we had to wait a long time in getting our chicken (everything else came out quickly enough), but the servers were very apologetic about it and we got free drinks and a free appetizer to make up for it. They were friendly before that, by the way, I don't want you guys to think they only started acting nice when they realized we had been waiting awhile lol
Ben
Great Service and Chicken!. The service here was great. The servers were very attentive, and were apologetic when dishes took longer than usual (which wasn't even that long in my opinion). The fried chicken is well seasoned and served in nice and large portions, however, the a few of the pieces had overcooked outer layers as a result. The ambience of the restaurant is great to chat with a group of friends.<br/><br/>The prices for the chicken dishes are reasonable for the amount and quality that you get, but the traditional mains and other dishes are pricey for their portion size. They do have lunch specials, so there's always that option when wanting to try new things.
Nick W
This place is the bomb!!! Food was delish! Honestly the best fried chicken I have ever had!!! Service was lacking a bit but I'm sure it will get better. Regardless I will be back for sure! And I have and will continue to recommend this to my friends!!! Check this place out! You won't be disappointed!!
Jo
Motherclucking delicious. My girlfriend and I read a review of Ogam chicken in Fast Forward and it sounded awesome. We have really been missing some good KFC (Korean Friend Chicken) and this place delivered some of the best chicken I have ever tasted hands down. Really great place to check out especially if you spend all day shopping a Chinook mall and need to get your chicken fix! Definitely going back soon!
Bulletproofdream
It's been two days and already craving...... We ordered two lunch combo's to sample the soy garlic and seasoned chicken. The seasoned flavoring is sticky, sweet and spicy. The breading is perfectly crisp and the chicken is moist, fresh and tender. Great cuts and quality all around. Everything you're looking for in a perfect bite. The potato wedges are also delicious as is the salad and dressing side.<br/><br/>Service was great too. Definitely coming back to order more of the traditional dishes as well. Decor is actually quite enjoyable, bright red's and yellow with very comfortable chairs.<br/><br/>Try this place out!

We went to Ogam chicken last saturday at noon. The waitress was so friendly, sweet and attentive. Also, the chicken was awesome. I love this place.
Jen
Unimpressed. I am a fan of Korean Fried Chicken as well as Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and this place has both, so I was excited to try it. I ordered chicken breast - the chicken itself was decent, although greasy. However, I like the chicken with the korean hot and sweet sauce (the sauce at Olive Chicken is amazing, and at Yum Yum in Airdrie also quite good), but the hot sauce at Ogam (which I paid an extra $1.50 for) was one of the most unappetizing sauces I have ever tasted. I ended up not eating it and throwing it out.<br/><br/>Most places that make tteokbokki include fish cake slices in the dish. This place only has the rice cake rolls with a few slices of cabbage. The sauce was basically just spicy, but lacked the slightly sweet component.<br/><br/>I was quite disappointed overall.

Best Chicken in Calgary. Good food and reasonably priced. Crispy, soy and seasoned chicken are awesome. Been there 4 times now and will be back for more.

Half and Half Meal. It's not just chicken at Ogam, there's plenty of BBQ options as well, but since Calgary seems to be on a Korean chicken love affair, it's difficult to resist.<br/><br/>Sharing a Crispy Chicken Half and Half (at about $24), there was more than enough pieces for two people. The chicken batter is crispy and crunchy and covered in large chunks of salt. Great salty flavour with sharp textures to the steaming hot chicken (overeagerness slightly burnt my mouth). The spicy half is a nice mild spicy sauce. There must not be a lot of sugar in it, because the sauce isn't overpoweringly sweet which was pleasant when contrasted to the mild spicy kick.<br/><br/>One point of criticism - I found the white meat to be a bit dry. The large legs and wings were perfect in juiciness.<br/><br/>Being first in line for the lunch rush, the chicken came out in about ten minutes. Service was a bit frazzled but profusely apologized whenever our drinks were low or when they missed a side I had ordered.<br/><br/>The restaurant isn't huge by any means, but it is large enough to host bigger groups if need be. It's also comfortable to immediately grab a seat to enjoy the freshly cooked meals. With popularity, it could be tough to get into this Korean spot located across from Chinook Mall.

Omg! We went there on a Saturday, the location is perfect for after shopping meal. It is across from chinook mall. It has parking, super easy. We went there with a one year, they were super friendly with our baby, they have high chairs. We ordered the 3 types of chicken they have. And the 3 are amazing. My favourite was the crispy chicken. It is great, so crispy , no greasy, and so tender and juicy inside. The customer service is amazing. It is super cheap. It has traditional korean dishes packed with flavours. It is an amazing place. The place is simple, but super comfortable , clean, and it has a great food!

They've changed the phone number -403-452-7595 ^^*. Um.....yummy place!!!!!!! you could get sweet smile from them. Affordable price for Lunch Bento!!!Especially, when you choose the dinner for two, you can get more glass noodle and steamed egg side dishies as well. My friends and I've got "Sweet& splicy Chicken" on the Dinner for Two. It was fantastic! The end of the service, we've got very unique fried rice in Korean style.<br/>Also, they're on promotion for Makgoli(rice wine)and SOJU on Mon, Wed respectively.

Decent food at decent prices. I went there for lunch with a friend today. We both had a bento box (mine was teriyaki beef w/tempura shrimp and hers was teriyaki beef w/gyoza) and she also ordered an extra plate of tempura shrimp. Food came quickly, service was pretty good... however, I just wonder how authentic they are. I've only had Korean food in Calgary so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but being so accustomed to the overly sweet teriyaki sauce that's served at most other places, I find myself craving for more sweetness with the lunch I had today. I'm not saying it tasted bad - I'm saying I'm not used to this different taste. Tempura was lightly battered and crisp. Overall, we both enjoyed our meal and will likely be back to try other things. Oh yeah, the bento boxes also come with soup, salad, rice and three sides (today we got tamago, bean sprouts and some spicy radish thingys).
Lo
FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING!. I love this restaurant a lot better then the Sushi Kai that use to be there. The staff is so welcoming and friendly and really do appreciate it's customers! EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.<br/><br/>I went with my friend and we order lunch bentos which was $9.50. THIS IS THE BEST LUNCH DEAL I'VE HAD. They give you soooo much food! The miso soup is in a big bowl and actually tastes like it's made from miso and not powder. When my friend finished drinking her's the sweet hostess there offered if she wanted more! The bentos are sooooo filling! Comes with your choice of A + B and they don't cheap out. I got spicy chicken and it wasn't as good as my friend's teriyaki beef but they give you sooo much and lots of rice too! Plus my friend ordered Jap Chae as her B choice and they gave her like 2 rice bowl's worth! And I got 5 gyozas that were really nicely cooked. Not to mention the salad that has this sesame dressing that is delicious! AND THERE IS MORE, your own traditional Korean bean sprout side dish, radish kim chi, and the best... 3 egg omelets.<br/>Definitely a better deal then Sakana where they cheap out on everything and portions are small and charge you like $12.50! <br/><br/>THIS PLACE GIVE SOOO MUCH and for such an affordable price. All the chefs even said goodbye and bowed! I will definitely be coming back~~

So far so good. Greeted by some of the friendliest people. They really make you feel welcomed. The menu itself concentrates more on Korean dishes so it's not exactly a sushi place. The food was refreshing. The teasers/appetizers/kimchi was delicious. Our server even offered to give us more when she saw that we were running low. The main dish was unique. They use Japanese rice rather than normal jasmine rice which is really nice. Overall I had a really nice experience. It wouldve been nice if they had a dessert menu too =P

We noticed that the restaurant not only served fried chicken, but other Korean dishes as well. This is the only place in Calgary that I have seen do it. I forgot to take a picture of the other side of the menu but it had your typical korean BBQ items and hot pots.
