This is the best South indian restaurant in Calgary. I cannot contemplate the amazing taste of all the dishes I have tried. The masala tea was aromatic with the cardamom scent. The medu vada was crispy from the outside and soft from the inside. The Dosa was paper thin and amazing flavors. I tried the Nilgiri dosa and Mysore Masala Dosa. I was not a fan of the Kulipaniyam, it has a burnt flavor to it and also not the best paniyaram I have had.
At last, it is pocket friendly and worth your money. One of the best restaurants in Calgary indeed.

Guys want to enjoy real south Indian with real spice and flavour, honestly telling is SUPREME DOSA IS BEST EVER IN CANADA. ESPECIALLY DOSAS AND BIRYANIES. MUST TO TRY ONE TIME THEN YOU NEVER CHANGE RHIS5 PLACE, AMBIANCE IS SO NICE YOU WILL FEEL LIKE SITTING THE FOREST AND HAVING FOOD WITH REAL SOUND EFFECTS ETC.

If you're looking authentic South indian food this place visit and enjoy the taste and flavors of the food. Basically I'm a South indian person from chennai, After 6 years in north America, I was so grateful that I find this place and enjoyed every bite of the food. Thanks Chef for the awesome food. Excellent service by the receptionist even though we showed up before closing. Thanks everyone for the wonderful food and service.

I am a biriyani lover . On my vacation to Calgary I placed an online order at SI foods for chicken biriyani. The best taste just like home. The portion had 2 big drumsticks / leg peice and an egg for a very reasonable price. I could eat it for 2 meals . I ended up buying 2 days in a row while I was there.

Food was very good but compared to our last visit, couple of things were concerning- Very less staff working on busy Friday evening impacting service, washrooms very very very DIRTY, no paper towels in washroom, no soap in washroom, no hand sanitizer available in restaurant. Also all tables were so messy, nobody picked up dirty dishes after customers left for more then an hour. I know those staff were hard working and very busy with orders but more staff is required for Friday evening. Not very impressed, sorry. I know food is very good but if this restaurant is a winner of best choice awards , they need to maintain it which they can't with this type of cleanliness. Sorry for the bad review hopefully this will help to work on some areas.

This place is awesome. Tons of vegetarian options. I’m not super familiar with South Indian food, but what stands out to me here is the quality of the spices. Everything has such depth of flavour. Portions are large - for 2, I would recommend getting one appetizer and two dosas. Will be back!!!

Excellent service by crew members. Food was outstanding. I believe it is the best place in the city for dosa. I have been visited plenty of restaurants in Edmonton but does not taste like authentic South Indian. SI dosa is the best

The dosa was heavenly. Me and my kids thoroughly enjoyed our late lunch, it was delicious. The server was very polite and friendly, checked in on us a couple times. The ambiance is super relaxing, my 6 year old thought he was in the jungle with birds chirping in the background

We had been to supreme dosa couple of weeks back..the place does live upto it's name...not Jst dosas, but each and every food item was authentic and simply delicious..The proportions were also huge so like one dosa would have been enough for 2 people...
The service was impeccable and staff friendly...
We had never tasted such delicious south Indian food anywhere in Canada!!
Definitely recommend to everyone and will make sure to make it a must stop everytime we visit Calgary!!

Our party tried the idli, chicken biryani, plain dosa, and the paneer dosa. Everything was fresh and made so obviously with love and care. Mani, the chef, explained to us a little about South Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine. We found out that their in-house spice mix is made through a meticulous slow roasting process to the point of perfection. We left feeling satisfied, yet not super stuffed (the food is light and airy, but filling). I am definitely going back for their unlimited dosa nights or weekend lunch buffet! Also, vegetarian and gluten-free friendly!

Oh boy!!! This place is awesome. The food is really good and delicious. It gives nostalgia to me. The food allows me to remember my roots. I have been here for the fourth time and oh boy, the taste is same. No adulteration. It has remained the same from the beginning.
The service is also great. The staffs are very helpful and approachable. They have a good knowledge of what they are doing.
Even though the place is small, it's very neat and tidy. It offers a great eating experience.
I stayed in Calgary for three days and I can swear there is no other place like this. I tried food in other places but compared to SI foods all of them appeared garbage to me. The authentic food taste dragged me towards it more often in those three days.
I have a suggestion to this lovely person, move to a bigger place. It really worth. People will just love your food and you will be thronged with orders like never before.

I m new for calgary, this is my first onsite and I really feared that i will miss my south indian traditional food. I came here before two months and I had no options to cook or taste idly and dosa. Two weeks before I had a chance to get batter at S & T groceries and I got this SI Foods dosa batter. Wow!!! what a taste... really thought that having idly/dosa with my Mom's preparation.
Really worth for money..... my suggestion to the Indians - please try it once, you will really love this batter....

I had a great meal at SI foods with my family. They served all of the traditional South Indian foods which I love, and it tasted just as good as in India itself. The place is small and simple, but the family who owns it is very nice, and the food is awesome! I would highly recommend SI foods to anyone in Calgary who wants to enjoy authentic indian food!

We enjoyed the Sun non-veg buffet. Tasted authentic and simple. Chicken curry and mutton curry were tasty, nice fish pakora and unlimited crispy dosas (any type). We also enjoyed sambhar and rasam and dal. Money was well spent and the owner and helper were happy and cared that we liked the food and were satisfied. Paratha was little tough and could be more fluffy. Curry leaf rice was ok.
Will definitely go back.

Good with authentic South Indian taste and probably the best South Indian restaurant in Calgary. Important aspect was preparation using all natural and Fresh ingredients and no use of artificial colours or inputs. A significant transformation was in ambience which puts this in higher orbit.

Exceptional taste and value. Everything was fresh and hot. The only thing of critique is they should turn up the music, we could hear it from the kitchen, but it should be louder! Great place for Sunday brunch. We will be back soon!
