Thank you Pie Junkie, for humouring me when I mistakingly ordered from the wrong location! Thankful that you had a gorgeous Lemon Tart Pie at your Kensington location that I could still take away with me, and what a hit it was. The crust was devine. The filling was the perfect mix of tang and sweet! I highly, highly recommend Pie Junkie!
A friend gave me a sausage roll from this place before Christmas and I couldn't stop thinking about it. I stopped in yesterday and bought sausage rolls, a proper British steak and kidney pie, some Jamaican beef pies, and what has turned out to be an unexpected delight; butter chicken pie! Fantastic service and even better food.
I am changing my review from poor to excellent. I did not get a discount or a free pie I just got what I wanted the past 3 times I went in, the Blueberry-Nectarine pie. I never had a problem with the servers or the quality of the pies. I always give a tip after a purchase and I was so happy they had the pie ready to slice that I got my wife an Italian Job(her favorite) and a Beef and Mushroom(my favorite). 4th time was the charm and I'm so excited to try the pie I have been trying to get for 2 weeks!
Best Crust ever in my book. I loved every bite of my blueberry-cranberry pie and my husband delightfully devoured his butter chicken pies. The perfectly flaky crust made both pies even better.
It was our first times at the Pie Junkie and Bakery. Beyond the pie, we loved that we could make conversation with the bakers while we sat and ate our pies.
Yesterday became the first of many pie eating days to come at this sweet, sweet bakery!
I am a complete fool for this place. Hand pies are my quick lunch fave. Jamaican and cheese/onion addiction. Also love key lime pie and the Aussie meat pie. And ....the list continues. Just go.
This place is great. Their work is beautiful and the salted caramel brownie is probably the best thing I've ever eaten.
Holy yum! Tried the Steak and Kidney (her favourite), Aussie Beef (my favorite), and pork pie. All were delicious!!! Also had a peanut butter cookie and cherry turnover, great end to a wonderful meal! Couldn't get out of here without taking a few to go. Well worth the trip for some English soul food!
Butter chicken pies are to DIE for!!!!! We eat a lot of Indian from many different places and this is some of the tastiest butter chicken sauce I've had. And the crust is unreal!!
Those pies are to die for! Excellent quality ingredients and making. The price is a bit high, but you get what you pay for...
My family just moved to Kensington a month ago, and have been eager to try your pies. We finally went in today and we are so happy we did. The service was incredible and there was a huge variety of pies and other treats. We ordered a sour cherry pie, brownie and meat pie; they were baked to perfection. We can't wait to go back! Thanks so much
Had the Savory butter chicken pie today. It is to die for!!
Delicious sweet and savory pies!
Just know there is no washroom inside and no indoor seating.
Definitely worth it to get treats to walk around or take to go

Loved the sask/blueberry pie in addition to our savoury purchases. We will be back for more. Homemade quality and pure ingredients show in the taste and texture.
Immaculately flakey crust with incredible filling. My only regret is not buying two pies this afternoon.
I went to the Kensington location and I've never had a more delicious and heavenly key lime pie in my entire life, and I've had many. The owner is incredibly amiable, she clearly bakes with love and passion. It's a must try, and the variety of their baked goods is amazing.
We went to the Kensington location. Nice welcoming place. The staff were so friendly and helpful.
We bought the Lemon Tart - nice thin flakey crust, the lemon was the perfect amount of sweet and tartness - nice light tart!
We also bought the Apple and Peach hand pie. The crust also light, flakey with a sugar topping. Lots of fruit and not too sweet, the ratio between fruit and crust was perfect.
No flaws with this place - our new favorite for sure!
To celebrate Pi Day on March 14, I decided it was time to finally stop by Pie Junkie and Bakery (formerly the Pie Hole). There was a lot of parking available immediately in front of the store, the staff were helpful with suggestions and I was soon carrying a precarious stack of pies out to my car. Pro tip: bring a buddy to help keep your precious parcels safe on the drive home – I did not and only narrowly avoided disaster.
My friends and I tried the tomato & cheese and potato galette mini pies from the savoury menu. Both fillings were creamy and rich and the flaky, buttery pie crust was perfectly baked. From the sweet menu, we tried the sour cherry pie and chocolate raspberry ganache cream pie. The cherry was sweet and tart with a beautiful lattice top and the chocolate raspberry ganache was loaded with whipped cream and filled to the brim with a raspberry-packed chocolate custard. I will definitely be back to this gem of a bakery!
I saw this place by chance when looking for Oguraya bakery and it's within a residential area. It's a small pie shop and when I got there in the afternoon they only had savoury pies left on the shelf. We got the ham and cheese quiche to go so we didn't get to stay but the service was quite friendly and the man behind the counter told us about each pie. We reheated the quiche at home and wow was it good! The crust was flaky and not dry at all, the quiche itself had onions inside which I felt really made the entire dish so much better. I've had quiches in the past that only had egg, ham, and cheese which is good too but adding onions is just wow! I just wish that there's more ham to it. I didn't try any of their other pies but they do look good so maybe if I have the chance I'll drop by again!
This was the first time I stopped in and I was excited to try their pie. I picked up an apple pie to take home. The service was friendly and prompt. The pastry was excellent and while the apples still had a bit of firmness to them, I was put off by how tart the filling was. This was a disappointment considering the price of the pie. Because the pastry was so good, I would visit again but I would try something savoury. The pie filling just didn't suit my tastes.
Really good!!!
I arrived here today. Turns out they're closed on Mondays, BUT they let me order anyway, as they were preparing for thanksgiving pie making (and the door was open) I thought that was gracious!
I ordered a ham and cheese quiche and a steak and mushroom personal pie. They heated up the quiche for me and I took the steak one cold to eat later tonight.
The quiche was the BEST I'VE EVER HAD. It was fluffy, cheesey and the buttery crust was perfect!!!
Tonight when I got home I threw the steak and mushroom pie into the toaster oven and heated it for about 15 minutes. Came out perfect!!! Just enough filling and once again a crunchy buttery crust.
The only downside is that it is quite expensive to get your own pie. $7 & $8. They're quite small. But really tasty. I'll try a fruit filled one next time!
Best pies I have ever had! Crust is perfect and not doughy. Our savory pies were oven warmed and delicious. Just get there well before closing if you want to eat there because they shut the ovens down, as we found out on our second visit. Staff was friendly and explained what was in each pie.
We had the ricotta cheese handpie and the potato gallete. The handpie was really cold and a little bit heavy. Not my favourite. But the potato was ah-mazing! Will be back to try another sweet pie soon.
I absolutely love this bakery! Everyone is so friendly and helpful when you're choosing your order. We tried the chicken pot pie, steak and mushroom, and pork savoury pies, and the sour cherry pie for dessert. The steak and mushroom was by far the favourite, but they were all very good! The crust is deliciously flaky and it definitely tastes like they use butter, not margarine. The pork pie was a tiny bit salty, but the other seasonings were really nice. We found that the chicken pot pie had a slightly too strong potato flavour, but was still very tasty. The sour cherry was also good - not overly sweet and full of cherries! Definitely planning on coming back to try some of the other varieties!
My day started well, with a trip to a couple of bakeries to grab some bread for dinner and pies for dessert… but it turned bad, when on my drive home my dog groomer called to tell me my 8 year old dog with arthritis in his knees and degenerative disc disease in his spine jumped off the 4 foot high grooming table and was in a lot of pain. Needless to say, all the goodies I bought at the bakeries sat in the car for an extra hour while I made a trip to the emergency vet clinic.
In case you haven’t noticed, pie is coming back in a big way. And not just any pie, I mean home made, quality, baked to perfection pie. The kind that you find yourself groaning about with each bite. Now, there’s a couple spots in town, but I hadn’t really heard anything fantastic about any of them. Most feedback was about bleh crust, overly sweet fillings, or a lack of real fruit, and it was starting to seem like the art of marking pie had been lost somewhere along the years.
Super cute little bakery with a variety of delicious sweet and savoury pies. I loved being able to select my own tea bag/loose leaf tea and re-filling it at my whim. I had an Aussie Beef pie, which had ground beef, gravy and I think maybe some potato. The crust was flaky and rich. The filling was so, so good. One of the lovely ladies gave us the run down for all the pies and we each snagged a different one. I also had some of the 4 cheese and onion hand pie, which was delicious, but very cheesey and rich. Yum! I took an apple pie home to share with my family and it was a hit. Definitely check it out and grab a pie or two to fill you up.
Oh my gosh! Just finished half a onion and cheese pie and a full Aussie beef pie (with a bite of steak and mushroom pie) and I think I'm addicted! The crust is definitely on point. The filling was well made and tasty. The person working there went through all the pies and told me a bit about how they make everything. I would definitely recommend it for dinner at home or as a dessert to bring to a friend's house. Can't wait to go back again!
All I can say is good things about all the locations in Calgary. Their staff is absolutely the kindest people out there and very helpful. The other day I got a Keylime pie and A mixed nut mocha pie. Both are so amazing and beautifully decorated. I got the tiny pies, and they were just so freaking cute. I recommend so many people here. Perfect proportions.
We got a wedding pie and mini pies for our autumn wedding in Golden. We had a great experience working with Pie Junkie. They made my vision come alive. I was so happy with how the florals turned out. The color and style was perfect. The pies all tasted amazing. Every single pie was gone at the end of the night, people loved them! Highly recommend going with Pie Junkie! Amazing. Every single pie. Went here for the first time the other day after apparently living under a rock, was not disappointed. My favourites were the Steak, Stout & Gruyere, and the Banana Toffee for the sweet pies. In addition to the above mentioned, we tried: Raspberry cheesecake, Coconut cream, Salted Honey, Minced Meat, Aussie Beef, Onion & Cheese (hand pie), and Steak & Mushroom. Close seconds: Aussie Beef (Tangy, Worcestershire flavor), and Salted Honey (not terribly sweet, texture like a creme brulee).
We love these pies, a special treat every so often. Not inexpensive, but well worth it. You will never have a Safeway, co-op what grocer pie again.
Pie day desserts were incredible.
Also had the savory pies. Will continue to recommend!
Sure, it can be expensive, but you get what you pay for. Go ahead and buy a typical pumpkin pie from the grocery store. This place's niche is that they're next level. Like, bring for your ma's birthday, serve for a fancy date night, or bring to your boss's dinner party. I miss living down the road from this place... what a nice ending to a winter's day, perusing the goods fresh out of the oven. My fave is probably the cherry pie because it has such a good balance between sweetness and acidity.
During peak times like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, it's always a good idea to call ahead to put your order in. They get busy!
